These were designed and built for the KLM celebrations, with models built of every type KLM operated. The engines are ducted fan types,747 being powered by OS 91s with either Ramtec or Dynamax fans...great models!!

WHO is the "IDIOT" Mister German...you think you know aircraft identification better than us? (me?) The RC aircraft TAXIING is simulating either a DC-10 OR a MD-11 although it is missing the "center bodygears" to look more realistic to those models already mention...The RC aircraft we put more enfasis at was the RC 747 the one that took off and land, and NOT that few seconds you are reffering at...so a little bit respect and caution when you call other NOT correctly as "IDIOTS" ...

Those are awesome looking models. Too bad they didn't use brushless motors or turbine engines back then though. That 747 would sound a lot more realistic.

Coooooool. Pain in the butt if you don't have a runway for them to take-off from though. You'd never get them airborne even in a huge garden, lol. They should make an A380.

Thank you RafKac...It was an error of my part. A friend of my give me that video to upload,and when i saw the 400 in the beginning,i thought that was the one! I did not watch closely during his T.O. otherwise i could see that it could be NOT only a 200,but also a 300! (i work in a real Boeing 747-200... (!) Thanks anyhow for your "sharp" view...

Well...i'am almost shure. I got this video from a friend.Those days real jet engines for RC models was not yet popular or afordable.But they were ducted as far i can see and hear.

Those models are not available in Hobby Stores; you got to order them. Google to "SCALE RC MODELS" and you may get some of the sellers.

I don't think there are many companies that sell the complete aircraft - in this case the aircraft were almost certainly scratchbuilt, and then fitted with stock fans, servos and radio gear. A big and very expensive project!
