  • adorable!

  • This is adorable!! My lovebird Leo, says her name (yes Leo is a girl) ~ I got her when she was 3 months old not knowing if male/female and loved the name Leo. So a year later, she laid eggs all by herself! Hence..Leo is a girl ;) she is 18yrs old now, and almost blind, but still sings and says her name ~ enjoy your boy...they can live a very long time!!

  • So cute!

  • I keep playing this in the hope that my lovie will say it too, soooooooo cute!!

  • can you tell me how long it took your first lovebird to get used to you? my lovebird is still scared of us after a week away from two months. I hope that someone answers this because 0/4 answered me so far

  • @dogs1238517 Yes. Chicken is now going on two years old and is my #1 girl! I thought Chicken was a boy initially because of her fiesty personality as a young one but she just recently laid two eggs so Chicken is a girl! I love her more every day too!

  • @megangatita This is still our all time favorite video Sis! It cracks me up every time. Oh boy do I love my Chicken. Now we have several talking Chicken birds in the house. Sometimes they answer eachother! So cute! xoxox :)

  • <3!!!

  • So cute!!!

  • @marillblu Thank you! Glad you enjoyed Chicken's video :)

  • Oh my, that is soo cute! My gal Baboo says her name.. and taught the rest of the flock as well!!

  • @BaboosMomma Glad you enjoyed Chicken's performance. She is SO proud of her talking ability and we just love listening to her! So you have a 'talker' too? That is so cool. Lovebirds are not known for their talking abilities, but every so often you will find little prodigies that will pick up a few things. Chicken, and your Baboo must fall into this rare catagory! Cheers! :)

  • @PootersPlace I think any bird, given enough love and attention is bound to pick up a few things. I seen most of Chicken's videos and Chicken is well loved <3

Anyone that knows me knows my birds are just as spoiled!! More need to be spoiled!!

  • @BaboosMomma Ahhhh, thank you. Glad you noticed just how much I love my Chicken bird! She is definitely spoiled and loved so much every day! I also kept her brother from the same clutch, Pippin, who is a Normal Green Peach Faced. Pippin is also very, very loved and spoiled but has not picked up any of the talking abilities of his sister or mother. Glad to hear you also have some spoiled birdies too. I agree that there should be more. I am looking for loving homes for the new babies! :)

  • @PootersPlace I'm starting to think we have waaayyy too much in common~ I have 4 peachies, a masked, a green cheek, and a congo grey. I am raising some Lovies for a friend. Some Blue peids and a Blue Aussie and my Baboo is on her 1st clutch, should hatch in a week or two! She can have anything from normals to Violet pieds so I am very excited to see what hatches out. What colors do you have?

  • @BaboosMomma Wow, I agree, we've got a lot in common! How exciting you have so many babies! Violet pieds and blue aussie? Wow, those are some beautiful birds. So far we've only had normal greens and a bunch of yellow lutino's. I was holding out for a dutch blue in the last clutch (like Daddy bird), but it seems like the Lutino gene is strong w/my pair. So far out of ten babies, six of them are Lutino! We are known as the "Chicken Coup" now! ;) I would love to see vids of your babies!

  • How did u teach Chicken to say chicken?! LOL, what a smart love bird. My friend has one named Carl who whistles back when she whistles.

  • @TheOtherStackhouse We did not teach Chicken to say her name, she just all of a sudden one night started saying it! It was a very cute surprise and I assume it's because we said her name A LOT to her when she was a baby. Her Momma, Houdini also learned how to say "Chicken" so I guess it's confirmation that we said it a lot around here! Glad you enjoyed our video :)

  • @alwaysbincute Awwwww, how cute! Glad you and your birdies enjoy Chicken's video. You should post a video of them watching him. What kind of birds do you have?

  • AMAZING!!! I love this!!! I say Chicken to the LOVIES and they go crazies for it!

  • haha i have the same bird as you same colour and same name, and it says excatually what your chicken says. :) but cute bird

  • @britneyzachariuk. WOW, really? Do you have a video of your "Chicken" saying his (or her) name? I would love to see that. I thought one talking Lutino lovebird named Chicken was cool, but TWO of them is just amazing! ;)

  • haha i have the same bird as you same colour and same name, and it says excatually what your chicken says. :) but cute bird

  • looks like my lutino. sadly he died.... i was soo sad and depressed....

  • @kouxiongpeterhawj oh, I am SOOO sorry. I know how hard it is losing a cherised pet, especially a bird. They bring so much joy and laughter to our lives that it can be hard without them. I have been through it more than a few times and all I can say is it gets easier, but you never forget them! Chicken sends you his love! :)

  • @PootersPlace thanks for the support

  • Sent you the vid! : ) Sunset sends her best!

  • @coolbeansmellon Thanks, Chicken loves Sunset and sends peck kisses!

  • Looks just like my lutino!

  • Really? Do you have video of him/her? I'd love for my Chicken to see! :)

  • Oh how cute, I did not know that. TLA was so awesome in helping me raise this little guy and his two siblings. I credit their expertise in how cool Chicken little turned out!

  • my lovebird gets wild when i play this

  • That is awesome!

  • @stargazrt4 So glad you got to see my little Chicken talking! This is one of the babies from my pairs very first clutch that I raised using your guide! Guess it worked REALLY well because all the babies (and especially this one) are already so amazing!

  • Chicken boyfriend... lol... he's more like my Chicken "son" or "baby-boy" heehee. I had a feeling you'd like this video. All of us over here love it too and were just dying when he did this last night. I was so glad I had my camera to catch it.

  • hahahahaa!!! I think he is your little chicken boyfriend!!! he loves you!!! YES!! I just love love love this video!!! You have a little lovebird of gold!! He brings so much joy and laughter and sillyness and surprise to the home I can see!!! I love your bird and this video so much!!!

  • 100*!!! My boyfriend is here with me and we love this video!! Our eyes are tearing up over your lovie chicken!!! Luis,my boyfriend, says it is easy to see you love this bird and it is your favorite!! I told him yes indeed!!! Wonderful Wonderful!!! What a curious and creative and smart and happy and quick lil chicken bird!! LOVE Your Chicken Boyfriend so MUCH!!! LOL!!!! Kisses for your boyfriend!!! :)))))hehehehee~

  • Yep, he's the favorite of the babies that we had (shhhh, don't tell Pippin). There was just no way I was going to give this special boy away. He simply amazes me how intelligent he is at such a young age! Our whole family (including you!) just loves this little Chicken-Boo!

  • Simply Adorable! Great job with him!! How did you teach the bird to talk! Is there a trick you use? food incentive when he says is right? just "good boy" or do you just repeat and repeat one word all the time in a quiet distraction free room until they pick it up? Unique bird!! You rarely see this talking ability in lovebirds!!! Also he is young!! I wish mine were young again, there is so much more I would teach them!!! So wonderful to see your bird prodigy!!! Yes I love him!! kiss kiss!!

  • You know, I would love to say that I taught him how to say his name, but I didn't at all! We all just said "Chicken" a lot, as you can see in the baby video and I guess he just has some special lovebird talking gene. One night he just started saying it and we all could not believe it. It really was that sudden. When I first heard him it was at night when he was in his sleepy tent and I heard "chicken-chicken". I got my camera and the video of his first word is posted.

  • Wow!! that's it!!! LOL!! just kidding!! obviously you have a natural and very talented birdie!!! that is great!!! i think it is the repetition, i read that!! mine copy me when i say up up, but that is it!! you can teach him lots more!!!

  • We know that repitition is a big part and I guess it's obvious how much attention Chicken got because his other two siblings dont talk! lol I have been actively trying to teach him other words and it sounds like he's trying to say them. I think it's a combination of training AND some predisposition because I've had birds that are known to talk and we did tons of repitition and they never said a word, I really think he's just a very gifted little Chicken ;)

  • Oh! Yes! I totally agree with you! He is a gifted bird! Like you said earlier, every bird has its own unique set of characteristics and quirks and intelligence!! Yours is blessed with some extra special gifts!!! I bet he can learn lots more!!! Just don't try to teach him bad words in spanish!!! LOL!!! or english!!! :) good luck!
