Main difference (IMO) is the MiniX is 21 lumens brighter due to its better LED. There are of course other differences but I don't feel like typing them all :)

hi, i am looking to find my husband an awesome xmas present and wanted to know what u recommended from 4sevens? i am leaning towards the regular size quark 123 and maybe a freon (i believe that's the name?) i have NO clue about flashlights so any input is appreciated. thanks in advance!

Hey Christina,

The 123 and the Preon would both be good choices. When thinking about which to buy think of this:

--The 123 uses CR123A batteries which are harder to find but give off more power and last longer (both in the light and on the shelf).

-- The Preon series uses AAA which are obviously easier to find but generally don't last as long.

I personally own two CR123A flashlights and I love them. If he's gonna use it solely for EDC purposes, get the Preon.

Those 4Sevens are definitely amazing, especially at the price point, I'll probably get the Preon 2 Titanium w/ black body for my EDC light, once Knifeworks or Lighthound stocks up on them.

That was my number two choice, believe it or not.

However, I was drawn away instantly when I heard that Titanium is poor at venting out heat. In other words, that Ti head will get REALLY warm REALLY fast.
