well its pretty much the same as Eye of Judgment for the PS3, when you wave your hands across the monster, your pretty much just going through them. What i want to know is, how she was able to sit at the edge of the cardboard where it would supposed to cut off her legs but didnt.
The card isn't a restriction, the only thing special about it is that the markings are like a reference to what is on the actual computer, So as long as it is on screen the character can be made to be anywhere else. On the other hand I know nothing about this program and I am just guessing =D
well ,, as long as the mark appears on the camera ,, u can make it move anywhere ,, cause simply the 3d model position + rotation appears depending on the position + rotation of the mark ,, like it first detects the mark then renders the models depending on it's position =]
If you put a marker like this on your floor, and had a program to do what your asking for, then itd be quite easy to have them walking about on your floor. The thing to remember is that the program wont know where walls or any other objects are. You would need to be able to set limits in the program to avoid it glitching through objects. With specific stuff you could do all sorts, it could climb onto a marked table for example, but it again would need some way of knowing the edges.
i have already seen that one .what i meant was one that would actully responed to things being said or showing some basic form of being able to respond to touch.
i like the songs and would like to have an anime girl dance on my table. what puzzels me is how they get it on that cardboard thing. And what happens when they touch it.
it would be much more intresting if they could make her interact with her environment or a real person.i must go to japan someday they have some wierd wonderfull stuff out there.
The computer sees the black and white square patterns on the cardboard and draws the model there, is it extremely over-simplified. He made separate models for each frame of the animation. Also the sahdow by itself is semitransparent, even if Miku isn't. The most impressive part IMO is how it DOESN'T draw where it shouldn't - from the side, it doesn't draw over the cardboard (so you can't see her legs, which is how it should be).
Where do you get this stuff!?!?!?!?!

haha, well what i want to know is, if you had instead of a card, but a mat lying across your floor, if you could program it to have her walk across.

What 0N351N said was actually right.
I dunno about the mat thing; it may be possible, but very hard to do.

Cool stuff.

That would be awesome. Or making her climbing up a table would be cool too.

now all you need is a light sorce marker, and flesh/hand recignition for 3rd multi layer interactivity. nicely done.
