well, those clothes add girth to a girll ! If she was thin in them she'd probably be anorexic without them . Besides according to non-fiction books I've read on that period it wasn't the style to be as thin as nowadays since this usually conveyed to others that perhaps you had consumption (T.B.) a deadly illness and quite common at that time. Triue Jane was younger, this actress was 27 at the time, but I think she looks younger than alot of younger actresses today. e.
I've watched this countless times and it is still one of the best videos I've seen. It is genius how you mixed song, dialogue, and scenes. Clarke and Dalton ARE Jane and Rochester to me. None will ever compare.
Wow, it's as if you packaged up all my favorites parts of the miniseries. I loved how you matched it with the lyrics, especially "voices"..."magic"...and "wild." Great job!!! Is now favorited.
I love this Jane Eyre 1983 dvd. Me and two friends recently spent the whole afternoon watching it from start to finish. It really grabs the attention.
And I love this song and video. Even though I prefer Roxette's original, this one is acousic and really fits.
AWESOME - what more can I say? I love it and anyone who has never seen this version of Jane Eyre u r soooo missing out. This has in my opinion the best parting scene of any version even the new 2006 one.
Nice video keep it coming. I wish there would be more music videos for this movie- more classic songs I mean current are okay like this song- I always liked but still for a classic gothic romance novel you need more old fashioned or at least slow song
This was the first version of 'Jane Eyre' I ever saw after reading the book, and I have a huge soft spot for it, despite its dated production values. Very good video.
I bought this video when it was first released and played part 1 on boxing day. my husband pretended he was not interested but by the end couldn't wait for part 2 to find out who was in the attic! great acting from a superb actor - Timothy Dalton
That is so cute that your husband was interested too! I am happy to know that there are other fans for this version of Jane Eyre which I believe to be the best. It really stays true to the novel of Bronte: if she were alive today she would be proud of it capturing the beauty of her writing and dialogue of the characters in her book:)
It was great!! just, at the end, it would have been really emotional to finish that scene. The part where she says "God bless you my dear master--" She actually turns and leaves...could have ended there. I still give it a 10!!
My favorite novel. So far, my favorite Rochester in a movie...but no chemistry with this Jane...:( She seems too soft in spirit; Jane was strong and not very see-through emotionally. And she was younger and thinner.
THis is a great Video, because its such a great version of JE. What's funny though is that he tends to overact and she tends to underact so it's quite humorous :)
That was marvelous! I'm so glad that there are other people who appreciate that adaptation of JANE EYRE. I just watched it yesterday and still feel it is the best. Timothy Dalton is THE definitive Mr. Rochester. The scenes were edited very well to go with the lyrics and thanks for not spoiling the ending for others who have yet to discover this wonderful film. Great job!
Awesome. Love this version of Jane Eyre, the best version of the most romantic book ever. Timothy Dalton & Zelah Clark were perfect and your "score" fit nicely. Thanks. Nice work.
Great video... This is the best version of JaneEyre. Timothy Dalton NAILED the Rochester role, even if he was a little too handsome, and Zelah Clark was Jane..
What a wonderful music video! I LOVE this movie adaptation of the novel, and you set the music to it superbly. It was a nice treat that you added in the speaking parts here and there. They fit so perfectly and matched the lyrics of the song. Marvellous work!
Very, VERY well done! I usually hate the music to video concept on these but applause for you! Let's hope Toby does as well on the next Rochester. Still haven't seen the '73 version tho.
This this was the best adaptation of Jane Eyre, and I speak as a huge fan of the novel. Welles' version was good, but that was down to Joan Fontaine's portrayal of Jane. here again it seems chemistry is what makes it work - Zelah Clark as Jane and Timothy Dalton as Rochester works well; and you can see that both are troubled souls, not something regularly referred to in adaptations. Love it and I love the video too, as a lot have said already brilliant song for it. :O)
Awsome!! Such a moving video!!! I like the BBC classical adaptations, but this Jane Eyere from 1983 I haven't never seen yet... I want it!!! :-) And Edward is very agreeable and nice man!
Wow!! omg, Stan, this rocks! I had no idea you were into video! I made a music video thingy for Ever After back in high school but I have no idea where the disk is. :( Excellent job! I want to see the film now!

This is why I want to become an actor. Timothy Dalton is the best influence any boy or girl can have.
This is the movie that made me shiver and shake.
How can people say Sean Connery is the best Bond, maybe he looks good but Dalton is the best actor in the whole world.
And I will be an actor, Dalton will forever be my biggest influence.
