  • What are you using to power those type r's the head unit?

  • It's hard with modern cars man I broke my father car door lol

  • Comment removed

  • this goes the same for 1998's right?

  • anyway. helpful video. thanks

  • "thousands of other brands" my ass

  • alright cool thanks for letting us know your mustang is a v6!

  • would 600 watts be good for vibrating the car

  • @orkeyadam1 Yeah it would get the job done but if you want to really impress and at least get amateur level competition dB's you're going to want at least 1k Watts RMS

  • @ParanoiaPrise *IMHO

  • This video is much easier said then done but finally got it thanks.

  • If i am wiring my speakers to an amp, what do i do with the old speaker wire that atatchs to the back of my head unit?

Do I just leave them and tape the ends off with electrical tape?

  • @muchzshroom Exactly, you're completely bypassing the stock wiring for speakers. Just connect your RCAs from the head unit to the amp and the speaker wire to the speakers, and you're good to go, just like with an amp and subwoofer(s).

  • good tutorial, good commentary with instructions straight to the point thanks!

  • Great video !!!

  • where can you find car-specific wiring harnesses for speakers? the only place i can find is crutchfield

  • Is it bad if I use speakers that are way over the wattage my speaker system puts out? Mine puts out 50W 4 ways and I got some cheap 180W speakers. What would this do?

  • @Nathan2123 nothing its fine.

  • @Nathan2123 no thats fine. every radio puts out 50 watts 4 ways. Its better to have higher watt speakers.

  • how wuld u make the speakers in the trunk dont get wet? i have water in my trunk n that makes moister

  • Did this mustang have a Mach 460 sound system? If so what did you do with the headunit and amps?

  • My car is only 3 years old is it neccarsary to lay down new wiring from the head unit to the new speaker?

  • is it vital to disconnect the car battery? also how do I know if i need the adaptors?

  • @relyTsIemaNyM It's a safety thing so you don't short out anything vital. The adaptors are COMPLETELY optional. Just makes a cleaner install.

  • keep pressing 7 for infinity screwing! :)

  • i watch the video before installing that way i can know its the right one

  • very nice tutorial man

  • Around how much did all this cost!?

  • @54Tomcats

It was ~200 dollars for the speakers and ~20 for the adapters. But that was 3 years ago now.

  • Would you recommend speaker enclosures? People said its mainly for water protection but I don't think water will be a problem for mine, I don't want anything taking away from my quality and I'm sound deadening the doors.

  • Me too .. thanks really helpful

  • i have the same headlights

  • EASY!!! NOOBS

  • they're not 'bad speakers' in the back, they're just stock manufacturers and they are good. You'll not notice a difference if replacing the rear speakers too

  • its always best to test your speakers tho before you put on the door trims.

  • @ReconAMP

    Definitely

  • where did u purchase the adapter plate and wire harness, i have a 2003 mustang i and i am looking into upgrading the speakers cause i have 2 12's that are just over powering

  • ive got a 1997 mustang and i need to replace the back speakers but when i got access to them i found that theres an adapter from the wires to the factory speakers. because of the adapter the wires wont connect to the new speakers. am i supposed to cut off the adapter and use just the wires?

  • how to install speakers in the back of a Mustang convertible

  • wish mine was that easy. I had to remove the back seats in my car to remove the rear shelf cover.

  • thanks i finally got done helped me out a lot thanks m8 :).

  • i want to install cars speakers, but i dont have this car.....

  • ahh that looks so long and confusing :( can i pay you to do mine? lol

  • @11essexboi11 It's only an hour or two process. Just depends on how fast you can figure out how the door panels are actually connected.

  • Are all speaker harness adapters the same?

  • @cory2146 i second that.. like the clips for the wires?

  • So I think I blew out the bass in my aftermarket mach's.....idk if the wiring just came undone err what but the bass just stopped working it didn't even make a noise just stopped. But this helps ALOT! So I know what to do when i get new speakers soo THANKS!!

  • Where did you learned how to do that?

  • @752752tigre I learned this through careful lookin' on the internets. I downloaded a web page that told me how to did this. It was easy.

  • @752752tigre where did you learn how to speak???

  • OMFFGGGG THANK YOU!!! IVE LOOKED FOR WEEKS FOR A VIDEO ON HOW TO DO THIS ON A MUSTANG. I BROKE THE WINDOW BUTTON TRYING THIS-___________-

  • 0:58 Ouch! =D

  • @player4151 lmao i didnt see that

  • you guys never went over how you went from isntalling circular speakers to 7x9 i 'm totally a newb but where would i find some mounts for that? (92 prelude si)

  • @BigDogTwenny9niny2

well we had 6x8's and went to 5x7's so there wasn't much of a problem installing the oval, smaller speakers. if you have issues installing try mounting the speaker at different positions, and drilling new screw holes into the sheet metal if necessary. Just don't hit any important shit.

  • Is it necessary to hook up an amp to 6x9's? if not, what are the benefits of doing it? i've heard hooking them up with an amp is bad for them, is that true?

  • @spezow1234

When you add an amplifier (A high quality 4 channel one) you get better frequency control to the speakers so your shit sounds better. Basically.

  • what's up with the hair and your "beard"?

  • you guys make it look easy...when i did mine it took alot of shitbracking a Hummer is hard to find little parts ...but that's a nice car

  • i watched this to help me install mine but mine was the opisite on pretty much doing everything and took me like 5 hours to do replace them so :-( but i will give you a thumbs up

  • haha im actually looking for some speakers that anyone would suggest for a 97 camry too.. my first car, and i want to put an awesome sound system into it.

  • hey for the Alpine Type-R 5x7 speakers you have they work on the rear to? u think they can fit in my 97 camry?

  • @shivam220

I have a '94 Camry and the speakers in it for the back are 6x9

I don't think Toyota ever used 5x7 speakers. Everybody that I know that has a Toyota they rather have 6" [Usually for the front] or 6x9's [Usually for the back] in the car. Hope this helps :)

  • Where can i get the Speaker harness adapter

  • Good video

  • For reference I have a 93 Nissan Sentra in great condition only problem, no door speakers. I bought the correct size Sony Xplode 5x7's only one problem, the door wiring have these harness adaptors you talked about. Where Can I purchase these and how do i determine that they will fit snugly with the ones in my car?

  • i was wondering if i have 5-1/4in door speakers, could i replace them with 6-1/2in speakers in? and the same thing if i have 5x8s in the back could i replace them with 6x9s

  • @2:18 Thousands?

  • @traceur13

    lmfao nice call man.

  • @traceur13 hahaha i noticed that too

  • Great vid bad choice getting all alpine though.. pick and match what companies are best at.

  • take that EXPERT VILLAGE

  • Comment removed

  • i'm trying to hook up my 1600 watt speakers =)

  • thanks, this was pretty helpful. xD

  • i installed some speakers in a ram pickup. they worked fine last night then this afternoon it was working fine then i started adjusting the mirrors and the speakers just went out. the radio and ipod are light up but no sound from the speakers. could a fuse blown or could the speakers have blown. i haven't been able to check them yet just wanted ur advice.

  • I have the same car and an aftermarket stereo how do you bypass the factory amp?

  • if you want car speakers do you have to have a custom car stereo as well?

  • The best video I have ever seen on car audio installation. Thanks

  • if you have a bigger bass thing in the back of the trunk, do you need new speakers or will it be fine? my friend has a speaker and he tells me it has to be in negative or it'lll blow, whys that?

  • is it possible to install 7 speakers with a sub and a amp?And If so how would you install it?

  • This is piece of cake. I had to take half of my BMW e30's interior out and customize it to fit my speakers. 3 day nightmare but it was worth it. :P

  • Hushmat or other may have helped when you had everything open

  • im puttin a sick system in my ford escape

  • I have a 2001 Mustang with the Mach 460 system. Will aftermarket speakers work with the Mach System with those adapters? Or do you have the normal Mustang sound system?

  • nicely put!!! good work

  • BS! you just showed us how to open up the door..oh, and how to unscrew speakers

    than you for nada

  • why would u unplug the negative and not the positive?

  • @d3v07 it cant make the fill conection with out the negative

  • @d3v07 the Negative is the main wire, but you Dont really Have to undo that.. just Dont have ur damn car On wen hookin up a stereo lol

  • Also, can I fit 6x9 in my girls 2000 Mustang V6 Convertable?

  • @CobraSVT713 pretty sure they would fit in the back, cuz must cars take 6x9 speakers in the back

  • Can I do the same on a 2000 Mustang V6 Convertable? If not, please inform me on what to do. I want to upgrade my girls car because it sounds shitty :D.

  • awesome video, whats the song you used :)

  • do you have your type r's connected to an amp. if not do they sound good even without the amp?

  • this helped me soooo much

  • Hey....I bought a set of pioneer ts-a6872r for my 2005 honda civic....it is hard to make it custom???because I heard that the original ones are round.....so can Installed them????

  • nice video loved it :D

  • i have a 2000 mustang. i removed both of the units. when i took out the stereo, i put in a unit with a harness the fit 2 of the 4. no sound now. help please

  • How do we keep the doorpanels from vibrating so much.

  • do i require an amp to power these speakers or can i just install them regularly?

  • Not needed. Amps just make it sound better and louder.

  • if your using after market yes buy an aftermarket amp

  • some on stole my sisters

  • wrap some tape around the screwdriver if you wann take your doorpanel off.

You´ll get less scratches on the panel.

  • Thanks for the video.

  • great video

  • How did you get the back deck off?

  • It's just held in by those three bolts that can be seen when you lower the back seats. Then it slides out. In order to get the screws out on the speakers near the window, you might have to buy some stubby screwdrivers, which are available at most automotive stores.

  • Thanks for the reply, this really helps.

  • Excellent video

  • Excellent video!!!

  • fail at 00:59 hahahhahahahah you hit your head

  • 5*s for upgrade on the big three

  • actually it was best buy who told me that

  • @caleb20091 how much does bestbuy charge for an install ?

  • like $80 a PAIR!

  • for what ?

  • to install speakers at best buy...i tried to reply at a comment but apparently I failed.

  • OK thank i didn't know that. I have a question i have the boston SL80s ion the front and just the s series in the back and i have the alpine v series 300watt four channel and the installers say its underpowered alittle is it really worth getting a 400 watt or do you think its fine. Im getting about 50watts to the front right now and he said he would not reccomend bridging it so i dont knowbi thought if its underpowered why not bridge to get 75watts which is the reccomend rms

  • Your installers most likely know what's best. Unless they work for best buy.

  • @ParanoiaPrise SOOO True Best buy is full of Retards and immigrants but the immigrants are smarter than the stupid white bitches that work their they are the dumbest.

  • @joerob89

    Haha yeah

  • @joerob89

    Haha yeah

  • @joerob89 says the guy who uses "their" when he should of used "there." If you're going to be racist and call someone stupid then make sure your own grammar is correct. Dipshit

  • @ParanoiaPrise. Seriously, you just misused "their." signed a Stupid White Bitch

  • @1965kfsd

haha not sure where this came up ten months after the original comment from joerob89, who said "their" irresponsibly, and why your comment was directed towards me, but just make sure you pay attention to what you're clicking on the internet. Might get a computer virus if you aren't careful.

  • @joerob89 I work at Best Buy, I'm actually knowledgeable and I get get compliments from every person I help...don't generalize

  • @kintarben

That's good, now maybe you can get a job somewhere else. You are surrounded by retards and they make YOU look bad if you are actually a knowledgeable and trained installer.

  • @ParanoiaPrise How do they make me look bad? They just make me look better.

  • @kintarben Maybe it's different where you are, but from what I understand you are judged by the company you keep.

  • @ParanoiaPrise Must be...Best Buy isn't a Wal-mart or anything.

  • nice video. helps alot 5 starts

  • Thank you.

  • thanks man i didnt realize it was that easy but what about the amp i know there is no way those can sound descent without a amp i have a 4 channel alpine 300watt to my sl boston

  • @caleb20091 Actually they can. The headunit has a crossover built in so i can easily change what frequencies are sent to them and at 40watts it's decently powered.

  • is it ok if you don't buy the adaptor harness and just connect them as if they were just wires?

  • Thanks for posting. Good quality vid.

  • man all i gotta say is get some subs its alot eaisser and alot butter id go with 15's kickers...and a volfenhag and but thats jus me

  • I think my speakers got wet, do u think I have to put new speakers in or new wiring as well??

  • plus it gives you some experience and then if someone asks you you can help them and make some money

  • or u could just take it to a mechanic and c if they knoow how to install subs

  • @slavko96 which would cost money? Just to it urself, saves allot of money, plus you know its done right

  • fair enough

  • i have a 2000 honda accord. how do u know what type of speakers fit ur car cuz i dont wanna buy speakers and it happen to be the wrong size??

  • @boundary121 jus go to like best buy or something and they can tell you what size replace ment speakers. thats what i did for my 07 aerio.

  • can someone make a tutorial on how to change the 04 mazda rx-8 speakers. cause i would hate to take apart my car aimlessly

  • wow awesome video!! Nice halo lights up front too. 5/5 ..but how did you do the "flashlight" effect at 26 seconds?

  • no amp needed?

  • nope.

  • Where can I buy speaker wiring harness?

  • google it or Crutchfield is awesome.

  • 59 seconds he hits head....epic lol

  • This is a very well done review. It seemed planned out, was well edited, informative, and some tasteful music in the background. Well done!

  • Thank you. It was my Final.

  • gotta say, i'm pretty bummed. when i saw this i thought it was called how to install car SNEAKERS and i was like how fun! but i was obviously having a dumbass moment.

  • facepalm time nao?

  • @pebblesxinxpurple Hahahahaha.

  • @pebblesxinxpurple LMFAO..

  • pretty good tutorial =]

  • no subs???

  • How many speaker wire adapter things do i need? i'm getting the exact same setup (I have the same exact car too Oo) for christmas. And does the plastic fitting that you put in before you put in the new speakers come with the new speakers? or do you buy it seperate?

  • buy it separate.
