Actually, Aragorn turned "the blond girl", who´s called Eowyn, down becouse he loved Arewn, even thougth he belived that Arwen had left. In the end, Arwen and Aragon is united again and Eowyn finds another, Faramir. Aragorn (and Arwen too for that matter) is completely true to their engagement.

I made cuite an ass of myself insisting that he had kids until like five people proved me wrong, and we realised that my book was messed up, so you know, we have all been there. It is such a huge story, so it is not strange that we forget, miss or missunderstand things (especially if our book is wrong or we haven´t read the story for long).
