The movie has been put to a stop in preproduction. Estimated costs was 160million. No company would fund the movie unless it was made into a shitty PG-13 version. Reason was for 160million dollars, R-rating would greatly reduce ticket sales and the company would lose an enormous amount of money in making it. The director refused to make the movie unless they stayed true to the game and put out a no limits R-rated film. Basically, they've hit a wall that is currently impossible to climb.

Travenus is really telling the truth. They even talked about on G4's AOTS how Peter Jackson, or someone like that, is actually wanting to make a movie out of any of the following: Bioshock, Left 4 Dead (i.e. Zombieland ), Gears of War (yes I am dead serious!). Those upon other titles are being decided upon by a few certain producers.

Personally if they chose to make a Bios movie or Gears movie, I would definitely go and watch them. So keep an eye out for those Gaming Movies!
