  • Dude, you forgot the filter!

  • we have a 2000 passat TDI that has done 170,000 miles and had no oil change for the 7 years i have owned it and it just had the engine replaced :) what a car

  • @binweevilsrocks You idiot.

  • wałki rozrządu wyczyscił z wielką starannością ale korbowody, wał i inne elemęty olał.... to tak jak by szczotkowa tylko górne zęby bez dolnych ... bez sensu...

  • And drove for 1 hour everyday 7 days.changed oil. Black. Noise lowered further to metallic ticking. Changed oil again wuth forte flush. Idled and drove for 4 days. Finally changed oil 10w40 on filter. No noise.

Since then changed oil every 3 k miles. Cheap oil gunges up because it burn up in high temp. I use a synth 10w40

  • I hav a car that wanted to giv up the ghost in 2006. Knocked like metal on metal. Cleaned the engine WITHOUT open the engine. 2.0 hdi diesel peugeot.

Changed the oil. Added Forte oil flush With new oil 5w40. Left it on idle for 4 hours. Drove it for 30 mins at max 2k rpm. Still knockin no change. Changed oil. Was black. Add New oil 5w40 + 400ml diesel. Drove with knocking max 2k rpm. 3 hours over 3 days. Noise level dropping.

Changed oil. Black. Add new oil 5w40. + forte oil flush. Idled 6 hour

  • first of all.. Kia's are known for sludge problems..i love how the down pipe is under the pan... nothing like cooking the oil...

  • @ 6:55 "Oil pan cleaned"-Achievement sound. =D

  • I would have kicked the owner in the balls then push his car of a cliff. Hypothetically

  • you sir are a legend, that must have taken some patience

  • It looks like the more oil the better when assembling those cams and caps.

  • what about crank bearings and the connecting rod bearings etc.. did you check those out?

  • Yo where is the engine starting part !??

  • All that work for a kia?

  • i wanted to hear it run...then explode

  • you didnt change the oil filter

  • @beachbummm69 just because it wasn't recorded doesn't mean they didn't change it

  • you forgot to change the oil filter

  • 6:08 your service cart looks just like mine lol

  • i know the vids sped up but he still knocked this over very fast

  • @jazzy4me4eva

Did you check out the first part?

  • isnt there suppose to be a gasket between the valve cover and the engine block?

  • @Nexumbiker110

Plastic cover probably seals itself up.

  • hey what about the main oil filter ? did you changed ?

  • @risagian of course he did -.-

  • Whats that solvent you are using?

  • Nice video. How many shop towels did you use?

  • Thanks for the instructive video. I am buying a 2002 Intredpi, which has known sludge issues, and it is good to know what I need to do once I buy it

  • @markzmen07 The Interpids sludge issue is different..it sludges up with regular oil changes, and the timing chain adjusters oil passage blocks, then it jumps time, and catastrophic failure reuslts...you cannot clean that engine out like this one and think everything will be ok...honestly ifthe interpid was neglected like this Kia,it probably would have blown up at 30000 miles.....

  • Oil Pick up cleaned?

  • @sprydo7 Did you even watch the video? Lol

  • ну это чё на палёное масло только нарваться можно было или я хуй его знает

  • @27jura244 или присадками всякими пользавлись

  • whats that chemical your using to clean everything. looks powerful and i wants some

  • @MrCheez1 more then likely brake cleaner

  • i've seen this at work quite a few times before, pisses me off cos some were newer cars..how fucking dumb can people be?,it's a no brainer, service a car and it will reward you in return, stretching out sevices will not save money in the long run.

  • why u do not change the oil filter

  • That magic orange thing on the side of the motor probably dint help this much...

  • Man, you work fast!

  • I guess daddy didn't tell her she needed to change oil.....

  • if only mechanics were this honest.... i would not mind spending some money to keep my car up tight..... but since most if not all mechanics wern't such cocksucking liarsi rather avoid giving my hard earned money to these blood sucking leeches....

  • what type of spray solvent did you use on the top portion?

  • @mrtrump It's probably a brake and clutch cleaner.

  • Fucking ridiculous. Unfuckingbelievable, the owner is a fucking dip shit cheap mother fucker. That's like going thru life with out once taking a shit

  • i change engine oil and filter every 3000 miles... this owner doesn't deserve to have a car

  • i cant believe someone could neglect there car like this, if i put over 200,000km on my current car i would expect to do an oil and filter change over 40 times, like a few, some people dont deserve cars, if they cant look after them

  • I have a 2001 jeep grand cherokee but the engine does not work out very expensive to change

  • and im freaking out because I need to do my oil. Usually do it every 5000km and its been 7000km....

  • @taza11659 this only happens after very very long periods of not changing the oil it doesnt happenb if you passed couple 1000km but should chnage it asap

  • @rizegraymon1 Yeah I know, just with my driving (offroad most days and towing) I changed it every 5000 rather than every 12,500km

  • the oil filter mate

  • i want to see the owners reaction when he got the bill :)

  • no video of starting it afterwords??

  • Fucking bad disturbing whore shit noisy music. I have headache SHIT !!!!

  • Iam liking this movie very much..Iam having scooter to drive...Iam doing clean up maitananse on my scooter by following this movie :)

  • Heeey , This Video Really made mee experience More about Automotive Engineere, Thanks guys.. Hope too watch some More videos From u guys..

Str8 after i watch the first ep , and the 2nd ep , I went to change my mums car , And it hasnt their hasnt been any trouble ever since i change and check the engine and Everything.. :)

  • I THINK I FOUND THE OWNER OF THE CAR . AT @6:23

  • SOOOOooooo..... did this car make it?

  • LOL my neighbor has the exact same car and they went 80k without a change and it went boom. I went over recently to check her car and shes gone 10k over AGAIN! lol.

  • i could only imagine some of these classic cars runnin around from the 70's and such.

  • How much did the customer have to pay?

  • @jhbonarius Roughly $6000 I am assuming because I had to clean out some crazy woman's car and it cost well over $6000.

  • @vodka492 A new engine would be less than $6,000! This probably cost around $500 to perform.

  • The fact that its a KIA is an even bigger problem

  • Whenever I see a Fram oil filter at I get a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach...

  • @HeadCase21 Hi, what's the trouble with Fram filters? Best I know so my car gets only good quality filters.

  • @MightyGimp Usually I would suggest using an oem filter on your car. It's only a dollar or two more and it has better filtration and protective qualities to it. The feeling I was talking about in a shop when you see a Fram filter on a car you can never tell when the last time they may have done an oil change was. No shop I know of uses Fram oil filters so you never know what kind of hack job oil change Harry Homeowner did whenever he may have last changed it. I have horror stories...

  • @MightyGimp Any filter will do if you change your oil every 3,000 to 4,000 miles, like you're supposed to. Try not to use the cheapest Fram filter, buy the Toughguard, or Extendedguard. And use a brand name oil, any will do.

  • @HeadCase21 Fram?! I used Fram on my 2000 Maxima since I bought it 3 years ago. I do an oil change every 4.5k - 5k. What's wrong with Frams?

  • @7477238 Your joking right? Fram is nothing more than cardboard with superglue. Youtube it and see for yourself.

  • @7477238 I said that Fram is a lower quality filter than OEM filters. It can in now way compete with your AC Delco/Motorcraft/Mopar filters and it definatley won't compete with performance filters like Royal Purple. Also on a '00 Maxima I would suggest you drop that interval down to ~3k miles. Reduce that wear and tear on your engine.

  • @HeadCase21 Oops I meant to write that in kilometers since I live in Canada so yeah my oil changes do work out to every 3k miles which is within recommendation for this car. I guess I'll switch to MotoMaster which is exclusive to Canadian Tire or something else. Those VQ30 engines are smooth as silk, I want to keep it running as good as possible.

  • @7477238 I would suggest a genuine Nissan oil oil filter. If you have to go aftermarket try Purolator, though they should be around the same price.

  • @HeadCase21 I'll look into it. I'm due for an oil change in about 800miles. Thanks for your input.

  • @7477238 Nothing, it just seems Fram gets a lot of hate. I do suggest not using the cheapest orange one, though. Use the Toughguard, or the Extendedguard. They will be fine at the intervals you're changing your oil, which is the most important thing.

  • So... what about the the rest of the block, crankshaft bearings and journals of the engine? Hope for the best?

  • @Inabj2 this^

  • Great video.

  • fram oil filter. THERES YOUR PROBLEM haha

  • run 4 qts of marvel mystery oil in it for like 20 minutes. drain it and put in some new oil. bam!

  • lmao he did forget the filter

    \

  • i was just watching this video for the awesome song!

  • nice job done there!

  • To everyone talking about changing the oil filter. Did you see him even put oil in it? No, maybe he didn't film that part

  • but you leave that terrible fram filter on?

  • wow... just wow.

  • where its you shop??

  • After all that, I never saw the oil filter get changed.

  • Nice video. Did you do a compression test on the car to see how the compression was doing? Is the car still on the road?

  • Man, with a mess like you'd need a full teardown to get it thoroughly clean. Hot tank the block, new bearings, rings, maybe new pistons if the walls are torn up.

  • We would love to hear the car start

  • How much did this cost?

  • I've done a few jobs like this... if you take some time to build a tent out of plastic sheet and tape (to contain the disaster and splatter), then use an old air paint gun and diesel fuel with various long-bristled plastic brushes.

After I reassemble, I run 1qt of oil mixed with 3-4 quarts of diesel fuel in the crankcase for about 60 seconds @ idle.Drain, refill with cheap motor oil, run for 10 min @ idle to temp, then drain again... now do your final oil/filter change and you're done

  • SeaFoam her! no more sludge, without taking apart the engine.

  • Seen part one.. I'm wondering now, why isn't the owner driving a diesel? 135k miles in 3 year...

  • HE FUCKING DOESNT LIKE DIESELS YOU CUNT.

  • @bellendbellend1

Take your drugs and move away from YouTube

  • My god...this repair must have cost at least a grand and a half. Seriously...was that worth it for a 10 minute, $20 oil change though? It's not that hard to do... -__-"

  • @xxDarkHeartxx731 20 dollar oil change? 10 minutes? what kind of car do you drive? And to think, Me over here with my 7 quarts of 40 weight fully synthetic. And having to drain the oil. 70 dollars and an hour seems like over kill compared to you.

  • It's a dirty job, and you get to do it. :)

  • what a idiotic job, are you never hear for engine cleaner and if you do stupid thing do like you shall do, clean and lower engine parts not only carter ... what about oil circle plugs, crankshaft, oil pump, oil pump high pressure valve...

  • @FuriousHondaBoy Agreed.

Engine flush was in order. It's also likely oil pressure is low due to a clogged pressure relief valve in the oil pump.

    Some observations...

Once the camshafts were removed, the oil supply holes are exposed. They weren't protected so that gunk and other crap was forced into them, only to join the clean oil on startup.

The engine should have been spun over while the camshafts were out to ascertain oil flow into the cam carrier.

  • Also, You don't lubricate bolts that sit in blind holes. I've seen a block ruined due to hydraulic pressure from trapped oil in a head bolt thread, that cracked it.

The whole head should have been removed.

I fail to see how any of the shown operations would render a vehicle more likely to pass an emission test. Unless oil pressure to the cam advance was suspect, but to cure that would mean head removal to clear the blockage wouldn't it?

  • Do you have to do any maintaince if your car has a timing chain?

  • @supersmashist Timing chains stretch, and the tensioner can wear, plus it's spring can weaken. The initial and effect is retarded valve timing. If things wear to much, you get noise, and erratic valve timing.

  • im suprized he dident destroy the main bearings

  • typical kia owner

  • oil filter change? :)

  • What did this repair cost? Seems like a LOT of man hours.

  • Men, i wonder you didn't changed the oilfilter as the oil was drained from the engine.

That would be more serious or was it overseen in fastmotion? Usually the oil filter of such clogged engines are also blocked up.

  • I new a guy that drove an old ford with the same oil in it for years. but he had a pushrod engine so it didn't do as much harm.

  • Great job, the owners of the vehicle need there ass's whipped

  • how much did this end up costing this guy? geesh just change your oil idk why people put it off

  • After the change, there is still oil in it. I always remove the pan after every 3 changes.

  • @ROCKSOLID19 um... that is really a crazy thing to do. my oil pan has about 50 bolts holding it on. I am not taking that thing off again. an oil change is kinda like change the transmission fluid on a transmission. On a transmission you never want to change all of the fluid at once. you want to change about a quart or so at a time. Im not saying to do that with oil but a quarter of a quart of old oil isn't going to hurt anything at all. I wouldn't worry about removing it.

  • @117nathanmyers I like attention to detail, outside and inside the engine. The inside is often overlook. There are still people out there who do not understand the horrific truth about Fram, like the "Orange Evil" that is on the Hyundai in this video.

  • @ROCKSOLID19 I think it is really cool that you care that much about your engine but that is a little OCD. That is defiantly not a bad thing if you have the time and energy to to take it off that often. more people should be more like you. I do agree the inside is overlooked. I have taken apart my engine twice in the past year to check valve clearance and clean various parts. Maybe I am just as crazy as you. Have you seen the inside of a frame? that thing is like thin cardboard.

  • Damn, good work on that car! I know i can be hard on my cars but they all get their oil changed every 4000-6000 miles!

  • That's a Hyundai isn't it? Pretty amazing that the engine didn't seize up with that kind of oil change interval.

  • @ppanforreals I think it is a Kia but not really much of a difference.

  • Some people don't deserve cars.

  • Outstanding video . Due credit need to be given to mechanics who turn the wrenches for a living, and the savvy this guy is showing.."weekend mechanics" who replace front brake pads & an occasional alternator need to keep quiet...the time lapse format is great too..

  • that is a lot of work. the charge is $1000.

  • What a freaking nightmare of an engine to rebuild... Give me points and a distributor any day...

  • You forgot to replace the oil filter.

  • @upallnight888 Even worse, its a FRAM.

  • No i fucking didnt you cunt. Like i would for get to do that. Next youll be saying i forgot to put oil in. YOU FUCKING CUNT.

  • Doesn't modern car have timing chain? If it does, there shouldn't be a manufacture recommended change interval; but a inspection interval. Only when it fail inspection does it need to be changed.

  • @jh19811215 Most 4cyl cars are belt-driven cams.Belts deteriorate over time and with heat cycles.Chances are this belt was fine but would need changed in a year or 2.The cost varies but this one would prob be a 400 dollar job. Best to change a 50 dollar belt while the cams are already out and save money not having to tear it all down again later. Depending on the valve timing and clearances, a broken timing belt can bend valves and break pistons, not worth the risk of neglecting it.

  • Someone who doesn't change his oil deserve the high repair cost associated with tear down and cleaning. Ignorrant owners keep independent and dealership garage in business.

  • its a kia lol nuff said

  • Man he's fast.

  • You did not take out the Top block.. :(..oil channel could be stuck as well to!

  • so how much did this job cost? So the owner saved $1200 ($30 an oil change x 40), but I bet you charged them like $2000? Besides, their engine now has damage as far as the conrod bearings and other things that can't be cleaned

  • At 6:30 - is that the owner? LOL

  • The fram oil filter is a part of the problem here!!!

  • I have to complement on how clean the shop is and how organized your tools are. Nothing pisses me off more when tools are not wear they should be.

  • I like video. I change my own oil and filter. Only use quality and done often. Whoever buys my used cars gets a good deal. I only drive new cars now. Looks like this guy went to a quick lube once or twice and that is it. If he would have went more often like recommended, he would not have had this problem. Everyone should see this video.

  • They forgot to change the oil filter O.o

Good Video. Made the same job on my winter Car when I changed the headgasket. It has 177 000 km on it. Bought it 3 weeks ago. There was quite a lot of sludge in it.

  • I like the video only thing is, what about the oil filter.

  • did anyone go up to this customer and say "you're an idiot" or anything atleast? i bet they were the laughuing stock of the shop.

  • How do you get the timing chain and belt in the right position? Are there markings on the chain and gears? Also how much did this engine clean cost?

  • I bit of advise would be to throw that FRAM ExtraGuard filter in the can...

    They are really bad

Use OEM or another brand lige NAPA Gold or Wix etc.

  • the coast of this repair is cheaper than changing oil every 3k for 135k smart owner lol

  • that Shitty FRAM filter does not help

  • How much was the bill for all of this work???

  • I wouldve taken out and cleaned all the lifters aswell, as they gunk up fairly quick.

  • @Lillie1986 Its an overhead cam engine it does not have lifters.

  • @DobermansRock Excuse me what? Overhead cam engines dont have lifters? Thats new to me

  • @Lillie1986 Yes hence overhead cam engine. They also do not have pushrods. Its done to lighten up the valvetrain and give the muffler bearings a break. Less weight means less exhaust means less emisions. I think the only thing left out of this video is the fact he did not refill the blinker fluid or change out the chemlight batteries. He did do a good job with the Cunuter valve. Most Mechs miss that in step one. Yes overhead cam engines do not have Lifters. The Cam is overhead or over your head

  • @DobermansRock Then I should probably correct you by saying that overhead cams have lifters, they dont have pushrods but they have lifters. Somare hydraulic and some arent.

Not entirely sure if your post was a joke though so if it was Im sorry.

  • @Lillie1986 There are no lifters in a 99 kia. Or pushrods. But I would like to see video in a bakini on the beach living the dream. For once a woman is on YT. Be nice chika your one in a milliion. Even though you dont understand cars. Me I work on helicopters so this is just a freebee.

  • @DobermansRock The lifters or tappets as they are sometimes called are the part between your camshaft and your valves, you may be confusing them with the rocker arms that most modern overhead cam engines no longer use. In this engine you can see the lifters as the nice shiny circles in the head that the cam lobes are in contact with. Currently doing an auto course at my local polytech. Also 'muffler bearings' lol nice trolling.

  • @sw96 I would not call em lifters.

  • why is the oil drain screw not the deepest point on the oil pan? doesn't really make sense

  • I noticed the Fram oil filter there's your reason the sludge built up the worst filters ever always use Mann or K&N

  • 135K miles with 1 or 2 oil changes? That engine would have to be damaged. The Fram oil filter must have turned into a ball of cardboard and sludge in the can. That car owner is ignorant.

  • I bet all the guys were just standing there tapping their feet with their arms crossed when this guy came back to pick his car up...

one oil change in 3 years? come on...that's just shameful..

I mean occasionally I'll let my car go 7 or 8k without getting a change...but 95% of my cars miles are highway and that's a rarity

  • im assuming u changed the oil filter too lol

  • I see a fram filter :O

  • i have a 1991 dodge spirit.. its has 118000 kms on it.. im about 900 kms overdue for an oil change. when im driving and i accelerate from 0 rpm to 2000 rmp and keep going.. by the time it gets to 50 kms 2500-3000 rpm.. my car will jerk and i think it gets stuck in third gear... do you have any idea on what is causing this problem? and how to fix it?

  • @jrdm182 Sounds like a transmission problem. You have to change that fluid, too.

  • I remember when I had my first car, I drained the oil, then poured around 3 litres of diesel in the engine, started it for 20 seconds, and then drained it again. It was clean engine after that. Simple and quick way.

  • @Niercaaa That is a great idea to fuck your engine over.

  • @GmTruckCarLove it wasn't fucked after many times of doing it..! You americans don't know shit about these things..! One of my friends was doing the same thing for his car, his car has done 350 000 miles and he had it since it had 27 000 miles. So if you're stupid, then it costs money. I mean, if you have no knowledge, then you pay a lot more for others to do it in different way.

  • @Niercaaa If you change your fucking oil every 3K miles than you have NO need to fucking flush it!

  • @GmTruckCarLove every 3k???? You americans are trully destroying environment!! There's absolutely NO NEED to change it every 3000k miles... Well, not for European cars, anyway, because they last.. Average is 6-7k miles between oil change.

  • @Niercaaa GM and Ford used to recommend an oil change every 3k miles a couple of years ago, I'm not sure about other companies. The newer cars however are 7,500 to 10,000 miles when using synthetic oil.

  • @Niercaaa i change it whenever its starting to turn black

  • @GmTruckCarLove And I only flushed it when I bought the car, just to be on the safe side..!
