lets say I have a surplus of 20k. If the government takes 20k of that and gives it to the unemployed. Of course it helps short term with food expenses bills clothing etc. However, I am now not able to create a job for someone for a year with that 20k surplus.

let me clarify. you are talking about the budget (the year-to-year amount of spending) I'm talking about the national debt (how much money we owe to the Fed). Bush had spending policies that added 5 tril over 8 years. Obama has added 2 tril in 2 years, more than double the rate. Don't get caught up in the political party blame game just look at it objectively. While the parties may have slight differences they both are looking out for the interest of the parties rather than the people.

If all of you are willing to work, then you would not need unemployment. Many who are used to making a higher income, must be willing to work for minimum wage. I had to do it! But those with a college degree would not wash dishes or scrub toilets as they would prefer unemployment than down size to a low end up. While I'm not disagreeing that R's are just as guilty as D's, I am disagreeing that taxes grow the economy. Its just basic economics, no bs. Taxes are necessary but the income tax is not. D's and R's use the raising and lowering of income tax as a political talking point to get elected. Did you watch that vid btw?

The deficit..no matter which one you use by name , has averaged since 2001 $295 billion to $550 billion at present..by defense budget alone. That does not include 'discrectionary spending'. Which was W's way of keeping War off the books or 'budget deficit'. He increased all prementioned and also the size of govt, faster and larger than any prez in history! Granted we have to get a handle on this..But this problem will not get fixed by tax cuts for rich! JOBS! Is the only way we'll work this out.

let me clarify. you are talking about the budget (the year-to-year amount of spending) I'm talking about the national debt (how much money we owe to the Fed). Bush had spending policies that added 5 tril over 8 years. Obama has added 2 tril in 2 years, more than double the rate. Don't get caught up in the political party blame game just look at it objectively. While the parties may have slight differences they both are looking out for the interest of the parties rather than the people.

On the contrary, they give generously and often, without batting an eyelash over how to pay for it, and don't even mind keeping the cost off the books using emergency supplemental funding.
If only Repubs cared about people as much as they do the profits of war.

And you cry when I remind you both parties support spending on national defense. The difference is the Dems want to spend on that plus unemployment plus stimulus plus healthcare.
