I could never understand what everyone finds so appealing about voltage deficient distortion sounds. It is almost all odd ordered harmonics, and the notes decay abruptly and in a way that sounds strangled. Why do people pay 200 bucks and more for a pedal that makes their amp sound broken? Can't you just go to the local landfill and find a broken amp to keep on hand for those tone deaf days when you find yourself craving the sound of a buzzsaw? Or even buy a buzzsaw? AM radio? Whoopie cushion?

Sounds great with the dead battery for a few minutes but after like 10 minutes of use it STINKS, notes don't hold at all, etc.

It's interesting how much the power makes a difference but I wouldn't want to play with the low battery for any length of time, it starts to sound more and more awful when it stays on longer...

It never seems to die tho, I let it stay on for 3 days in a row on an almost dead battery and it still worked... it just sounded horrible

Wouldn't work. What you are hearing is the voltage sag with a higher load, not unlike a valve rectifier. Using a battery with a lower mAh rating would give a similar effect too. What I find with this unit is that setting clean then cranking the volume with a 1/2 empty battery sounds very nice indeed.
