@tyinykiller5 if you are on Finale there should be the numbers 1,2,3, and4 in the bottom left hand corner of your screen. these control the layers. they allow you to write two different rhythms in the same measure. In your case you would enter the 8th notes, then hit the "2" and enter the half notes. Then hit the "1" again to get back to the eight notes.

Just add some 16th note runs for no reason in the mellos and make the keyboards excessively difficult and you'll be closer to drum corp style arranging.

all the sustains need to be 2 to 3 times as long. All we did in our show was keep adding whole notes to our sustains, the more the better.

Its like pretty amazing to hear (and fun to play) a corps hold a sustain at full volume and still get louder at the end of along sustain

This is just the basic finale snare drum. I just used Human Playback > Marching Band.

In my other videos, the snare drum is the VDL that came with Finale.

If you're asking what I think you're asking, then you would go up to the articulation tool (the icon with the note that has the accent over it), and double click the note that you want the diddle or w/e and select the kind you want (one line, two lines, or three lines).
