the best way to tell if a cockateil is male or female by yourself is by looking in its tail area (i dont want to say the name of the place it look as a hint) if the feathers are bared there its a female if not its a male plz thumbs up this comment so more can see bye :)

Not True!! The Way You Could Tell if Its Male Or Female Is By Running Your Finger On The Bottom part Of its body and youll feel 2 lil bones if they are together its a boy if they are seperate its a girl :)

i'm sorry this is not accurate at all, pied are impossible to tell, you go by barring on femailes tails on regular grays and white faced pearls, lutino's you have to get dna testing done also.

the orange cheeks on males are so clear and bright, yet females has lighter orange cheeks , thats the easiest way of finding out , for beginners , and males sing when they happy and when u talk to them , females tend to be quite , screaming sometimes but rarely sings,as for white face or dutch cocktailes it's a bit hard to find out for beginners, , but its mostly their stand and their hips , attitude and so on, hope that helps

your "female" bird is a Pied. Pieds CANNOT be sexed visually and the only way to tell whether you have a male or female is by DNA sexing or if it displays female characteristics ie: lays an egg, or male characteristics ie: "heart wings" displays.

This video doesn't help me but it helped my friend who found out there bird was a male.

My bird is fully grey white patches on its wing and a sort of checked tail.

So my birds name is Smoki and Smoki puts its head down and you stroke its back and it makes a chirping sound. This suddenly changed my mind is so please can you help me tell if my bird is a girl or boy

@Thezezo1999 sounds like a girl especially if she has yellow-zebra striped tail feathers as well as the white spots under her wings. dont pet her back or under wings as this stimulates breeding hormones.

My pair of cockatiel's keep on fighting but there A pair why? One of them sing and cry's while the other one does not sing or cry's, both of them does not let each other get food whats happening.And by the way cool cockatile's.

@leggoon619 you should not force them together if they do not get along. imagine being forced to share a room with someone you did not like. separate them in different cages, but allow them to stay near each other. if they want to be with each other, they'll act like it, then you might be able to put them together. just because they are a male and female does not mean they will be a pair, if they were a real pair they'd get along and let each other eat. males sing a lot, the females not as much
