If somebody gave me a hummer I would sell that POS. I have a 95 ZJ and I only gave 3000 dollars for it. It has an 8" long arm lift on 35's but I have also had stock jeeps and I know that a hummer could not in it's wildest dreams go where I have, unless it was a real deal army hummer. Also if you own a hummer maybe you should have invested in spelling lessons instead

I like people who take long trucks (crew cabs, long boxes) and lift them. Its pointless on a truck like that (or really, ANY truck for that matter; shorter/lighter trucks like rangers and such would be a better offroad vehicle...)

I'm a Jeep guy, so I heart this video. But I feel it should be said that H1s and military humvees are fantastic off road vehicles for doing what they're good at. They're amazing in deep mud, sand, and hill climbing. They're just way too heavy, too wide, and don't have enough articulation for tight trails, woods, and rocks. The Jeeps and similar rigs will always kick a Hummer's ass on terrain like this, just like a factory Hummer will embarass a Jeep with a lift, lockers, and 33s in a mudhole.

@steveomlb13 How are Jeeps top heavy? Take a look at them. They are no car, but they are less top heavy than a hummer. The roofs weigh less than 500lbs (two people can easily lift the roof on and off). Other than the roof, there is really nothing up top for weight; unless you count the roll bar.
When you LIFT a Jeep though, it does throw off the center of gravity, but it still takes a bit to flip them. I have an 02 TJ with a 4" lift, and it handles as well as my dads stock 99 TJ.

I'll try an H1 in the desert but not on a tight trail. We wheel in the forest on rocks mostly and tend to use Jeeps or Land Cruisers. A hummer here would be like trying to drive the Titanic through a mud puddle. It has it's place- but I can't think of where. Maybe a mud hole?

i have an h2, and it offroads amazingly for a stock truck, but alotta times, you get people that just dont know how to drive offroad... so you get broken hummers... in my personal opinion, the h2 is better than the h1 in everything except climb power pretty much, i take mine in the mud all the time, and i have never gotten stuck... so alot of it is about the driver

Hummers (the real ones as vs. the re-branded Chevy Suburban H2 and Chevy Colorado H3) don't have lockers. They have Torsen differentials, which are limited slip torque-multiplying differentials, because it was assumed by the Army at the time that the Hummer was designed that our GI's are too stupid to know how to turn lockers on and off. That said, if a wheel is spinning then stepping on the brakes a little will get you more traction with a Torsen, and obviously the guy was too stupid for that.

I'll try an H1 in the desert but not on a tight trail. We wheel in the forest on rocks mostly and tend to use Jeeps or Land Cruisers. A hummer here would be like trying to drive the Titanic through a mud puddle. It has it's place- but I can't think of where. Maybe a mud hole?

i have an h2, and it offroads amazingly for a stock truck, but alotta times, you get people that just dont know how to drive offroad... so you get broken hummers... in my personal opinion, the h2 is better than the h1 in everything except climb power pretty much, i take mine in the mud all the time, and i have never gotten stuck... so alot of it is about the driver

Hummers (the real ones as vs. the re-branded Chevy Suburban H2 and Chevy Colorado H3) don't have lockers. They have Torsen differentials, which are limited slip torque-multiplying differentials, because it was assumed by the Army at the time that the Hummer was designed that our GI's are too stupid to know how to turn lockers on and off. That said, if a wheel is spinning then stepping on the brakes a little will get you more traction with a Torsen, and obviously the guy was too stupid for that.

U gotta be able to drive off road to drive a hummer, jeeps drive them selves but have a limit, the limit of a hummer is its driver only. I have seen a guy drive his hummer up a verticle cliff.
