meh. born and raised here. stampede was the shit when i was a kid. but now ...it's definitely lost it's appeal. the chuck wagon race and the rodeo show..

i was born there to, and lived there half of my life i partially agree with you, i only liked the rodeo and chuckwagon races, and al lthe other things there that have nothing to do with what its really about haha, i dont really miss it much to be honest, good to see someone that was actually born there to, not very many these days eh? haha

yah I even worked there during my high school summers haha. they even shutdown some of the good rides. some of the chuck wagon races had accidents and the horses died, some had heart attacks, etc, heat from animal groups =P.

well, for the first time ever, attendance dropped this year by 40,000 people or something.

but they are renaming olympic avenue to stampede avenue, adding in a few million $ of cash in building stampede clubs/bars/restaurants. so it stampede can be "year long".

as someone that used to live there and ACTUALLY born there i only go for the Rodeo, and anything that is about the western way of life, so many things there that have no buisness being there, anything elese there i dont care about it, i like the pancake breakfast to!
