Thank you so much for this video. It was simple, concise and explained it so easily! I missed this lab and I have to do a report sheet on it...this saved my life. Well, my grade anyway. :D
@shaheen1990 808.15 has FIVE digits, but you need to round the answer to THREE digits, so you round to 808. to learn more about how to round, watch my videos on significant figures.
@ILYMAUSAM you're very welcome! but i didn't dumb it down--i explained the whole concept, so if it makes sense now, you're totally set. if it didn't make sense before, it's not because you're dumb and you had to have it dumbed down, it's probably because it wasn't explained clearly the first time.
this helps so much thx ................ wid my teach me do unstan.............so can you do a vid about moles???(btw i am on someones acccount but i will comme nt in my own.
@bvlgary09 thanks for the kind comment! you ask a good question. YES, the pressure must be constant to use this formula. if you need to vary the volume, temperature AND pressure, you can use the combined gas law, with is (P1*V1)/T1 = (P2*V2)/T2
@tdewitt451 - Thank you for your reply. Who's that guy on the video? Blondes remind me of medieval prince and his imperfection makes him human which is beautiful :)
@Be1smaht if the pressure isn't constant, the volume could be changing, even if the temperature isn't! so if we have a balloon, we could shrink it by raising the pressure around it--put it in a pressure chamber and squeeze those gas particles together. now charles' law says that if there's a change in volume, we can figure how much the temp changed. BUT, if the pressure isn't constant, it could change the volume and TRICK us into thinking the temp changed instead.
hi i really like your videos, you explain the laws great, can you please post a video about avagadros law as well as some other laws. i would really appreciate it thanks...
You're a lifesaver... to think I've looked at countless "simple" explanations and yours so far is the only one that makes any sort of sense for me...hmm...
Anywho, once again, thank you. You've made a great contribution :)
thank you for posting this video, its helped me so much. you explain these formulas much much better than my chemistry teacher. I'm defiantly passing my test tomorrow.
You've literally changed the world by helping some kid in college pass his chem tests, thus helping him graduate, and giving society 1 more scientist. And we need all the scientists we can get to solve all our problems. Thanks for changing the world.
Thanks so much, awesome work! I am a nurse anesthetist and gas laws and physics are in our curriculum. I am going to direct numerous colleagues to your site!
Thanks a lot :)

u are soooo MUCH better than my chemistry teacher!
now where do i find out how to get the T2?
ancapeva 2 years ago
i don't know what you mean. how to get the T2? you mean how to solve for the T2? you'd rearrange the equation to get T2 = (V2 x T1)/V1
