  • @zioguido The drawbars are sliders or buttons? Nice sound!!

  • does anyone's electro 3 make creaking noises when there is lateral movement of the black keys? annoying... :/

  • grande zio guido!

  • What's the name of the song in 7:56 ?

  • @Soittava Oops, nothing

  • Very nice.

Is there some Acoustic Piano on Nord Electro 3/61?

  • @souzabluesplayer Nord 3 has:

A piano section with several Concert Grands ,Yamaha's CP80, Hohner Clavinet, Hohner Pianet M, Fender Rhodes MK1, Fender Rhodes MK1 Suitcase (and some more)

    And

A Organ Section with the Hammond B3... maybe even Farfisa and Vox Continental...

(i don't know for sure, i don't have one yet)

  • @Dutch02051990

Thank you very much for the information.

I´m thinking in spending my saves on this model (Nord Electro 3)

  • @souzabluesplayer do that :D

i just bought it myself for 1699 euro's... and it's beautifull.

you can attach 2 pedals for sustain, rotor (leslie) control and a expression pedal for the Organ Swell and Pedal Wah...

  • Like the pseudo-B3 percussion sounds, also the drawbarring capability. (Wish they could make a model with a flat-top, so a second 'board could be stacked on it--avoids the several inches' gap between tiers of keys.) Thanks for the excellent demo!

  • Maybe I'm A Leo!

  • Awesome playing man! The deep purple bit, and the Rhodes with wah bit were particularly cool, but nothing beats those little spinning disks, or those little hammers. The nord is cool, but you can tell it's not the real deal, and for someone as good as yourself, it'll only hold you back, so I reckon (if and when money allows) get a Hammond, or clavi, maybe a Rhodes or Wurlitzer, it'll give your already amazing playing that little extra in terms of sound, and make it perfect.

  • whats nords best piano?

  • 9:10 Billy Preston's Outta Space ! :-)

  • @exnewsanchor YEAH! :-)

  • this all sounds great, but i think if anyone is going to get a keyboard looking for the best classic sounds like rhodes, clavinet, and hammond, definitely go with the new korg sv-1, i think it sounds a lot better

  • @jonankof totally agree about the rhodes, but hammond on the sv-1? really? same with the clav, the sv is more of a piano instrument IMO

  • @FenrirLupus

Yes, the Wurlitzer is also cool. An acquaintance of mine has a Nord Stage, maybe he knows there is one on Vox. Sorry I a bit late reply:)

  • no 1 noticed its off

  • can it emulate Wurlitzer 200A? Sounds great :)

  • Siberian Khatru????

  • Sweet demo! Getting mine next week, can't wait.

  • does this one have the same M1 stage and suitcase as the N2? and then some new ones as well?

  • how is the nord when hooking up to a weighted midi controller for rhodes patches?

  • This is good "ambient" (the later half)

  • whats that you play at around 4:00?

  • Were you playing the organ through a tone cabinet? (Leslie speakers)

  • what's the first song?

  • @LolloJova

It's "Maybe I'm a Leo" a song from Deep Purple's Masterpiece "Machine Head".

  • piano good , hammond same , Clavinet it's a an electric guitar controlled by a keyboard nobody can emulate it !

  • @mondialferrari Hahaha... c'hai la fissa col Clavinet eh?... :)

  • @zioguido io sì!

  • @mondialferrari

Emulation definition from wikipedia: "An ambition and effort to equal, excel or surpass another; to compete or rival with some degree of success, especially through imitation". Pay attention on last three words.

  • the sounds are incredibly accurate. what they need to do now is capture the feel of each sound... in other words the action should change to suit each instrument.

  • Is this going through a leslie cabinet, or is that part of the synth?

  • If this board could play more than one sound at a time , and split, it would be worth a f*ck. The stage ex would be if it had samples in it.

  • Hammond organ

    Fender Rhodes

    Clavinet

    =

    Best Insruments

  • Pa su ma que chingon se oye el organo de la segunda parte del video

  • Are there any other boards out there that come close to these sounds? Apart from the original instrunments, that is! ;o)

I'm considering buying either an Electro 2 or 3. Any suggestions?

  • @auggiedoggy Maybe the Korg SV-1

  • @auggiedoggy Yea If you are more of an organ player, get the Nord 3. More into Rhodes and Clav and other stuff, get the Korg SV-1. In my experience, maybe it was just a crappy amp, but the SV-1 just sounds fattttter, but doesn't come close in the organ department.

  • it have piano layer with strings?????????????

  • I'm loving it! This sound is so stunning!

Great presentation too. Finally someone sucked out from this instrument enough to show what it can do. Great job! I'm adding your video to my favourites.

  • do i hear a leslie?

    awsome keyboard

  • WOW...great demo...really made my day!

  • It's a beast...great instrument, great player.

  • Nord Drawbars coming soon. Cant wait. Sounds like a million bucks. R U running a real Leslie?

  • @guitarsnstuff93422 He's not running a real Leslie. I can see a little light changing from green to red on the bottom left corner every time he turns the leslie on.

  • now that's a demonstration!

  • great playing. I love my electro

  • Muy bueno el video :D super variado los temas y tambien buen sonido :)

  • deep purple :D

  • Great playing sir.. but question for the play impaired ( i think this is the word lol) does it have a transpose function so I could play a song on c and it would come out as F if I needed once I would know how to play the song on C and the singer on F I hope you understand what I mean. please let me know.. I really depend on that to buy me one of this awesome boards.

  • yes it does, look in the manual you can download it from their site, i had the same question. i play in a band where the guitar players tune down a half step. so..... thats why i checked.

  • I tried tons of times to download the manual and its'allways dead.. would be able to upload it on the 4share website... if it's not too much I'm asking. thanks for the tip? Or does it really come with the manual stating all these changes..

  • @jomarcavalcanti wwwDOTnordkeyboardsDOTcom/downloads/manuals/nord%20electro%203/Nord%20Electro%203%20Manual%20v3.x%20%28eng%29.pdf

  • I'm thinking of buying one of these, but i kinda want something i can pull light saw synth like leads on, can this be done on the electro? And what about strings? Thanks.

  • @gazuul let me add - i want something with the sounds you pull out here, along with piano and some soft synth sounds.

  • @gazuul

You can now download 371 Nord Lead samples from Nord's website to your Electro 3, if I've understood correctly. And the string sounds that I've tried on the Electro 3 in stores are amazing!

  • @Kahva123 Sounds amazing! Thanks. No point in buyin the Nordstage if thats an option. Thanks

  • check out their website, it has lots of samples that you can download for the electro 3, plenty of synth sounds and strings including the entire mellotron library. very very good string sounds if you like the mellotron.

  • this sounds WONDERFUL!!! how much do these run?

  • what are the differences of the nord electro 2 vs. the nord electro 3?

i own a nord electro 2 and can bring up most of these sounds, but the hardest is the rhodes piano swirling in phase shift mode like a bee gees song

    any thoughts?

    peace

  • I think VB3 sounds better than any Nord hammond sim ;)

  • definitely NORD's made a great job with all of those vintage keybords that we are so addicted to;).

    THANK YOU!

  • Great demo!

  • 5:42 holyyyyy !

    what a funky riff down.

oooh my god. like the part after this riff.

    greets

  • How does the acoustic piano sound live running mono? If it sounds as full as a yamaha motif es than i'm gettin one fo sho!

  • Does the Nord Electro have the same type of keys as a hammond organ? Waterfall keys?

  • yes it does

  • yip, great for runs1

It also feels good for the Rhodes and wurly patches.

The autowah sounds amazing on the clavs

  • @guitarman1568 Yes, they feel great when playing the clav and E.P. sounds as well, They are a bit light for the acoustic piano, but a workable compramise.

  • when did it come out?

  • great sound

  • Hi, i have a question if U are anyone who knows whats the difference between the Nord Electro 2 & 3 ???.... thanks....

  • It seems like the "drawbar" speed is increased compared to the "2"

  • sound great, I whant the NE3

  • What settings do you use for these tunes please? I don't think they're standard in the nord electro 3?

  • They're standard. Hes just playing with the effects, although i cant tell by just listening if hes using the Rhodes "deep" or "ideal"

  • roland is great for acoustic pianos but how about yamaha? the motif stage keys sound/feel great too.

  • Their actually is a huge difference between the NE2 and 3. The 3 has the C1 organ sim, so is a bit better. But the biggest difference is that you can store ANY sound from both the Piano and Sample library from Clavia's website. Check them out, especially the Sample library is full with strings and guitars you wouldn't have on the NE2!

  • can anyone tell me what the big differences are between a Electro 2 and a 3? Thanks

  • The keys on the 3 are made to act more like a B3 where they trigger the note at the top of the stroke instead of the bottom. Also, I personally think the acoustic piano sounds have been improved.

  • But the differences aren't extremely big? The Electro 2 is also a great keyboard? The reason why I'm asking this is because I might want to buy a 2 or a 3, but I probably don't have the money for a 3.

  • No, the differences are not extreme at all. Go with the 2. It is a great keyboard!

  • Yup, the 2 is a fine instrument, as long as you don't intend to go crazy on those acoustic piano samples. They're not very good, and the lack of an onboard reverb doesn't make things better.

  • yeah, I think roland does the best job reproducing acoustic pianos as far as keyboards go. I don't understand why Nord doesn't spend as much time on acoustic pianos as they do organ and E.P's.

  • Lord that sounds great ! ha ha, get it ? nice dam keyboard .

  • Hard to believe the average bear is comparing this to Hammonds. The Leslie effect is just HORRIBLE. Thin and tinny.

  • It sounds pretty good actually compared to other keyboards. Plus it is way easier to take on gigs unless you have a stage crew.

  • I am what one would call a neanderthal (did I even spell that right?) on the keys but I would love to have one of these.

  • hell yeah on the gov't mule

  • does this have weighted keys? I'm assumming it does but I'm just wondering.

  • it doesn't...it's semi-weighted "waterfall" action

  • Comment removed

  • Amazing sound

  • Yo man im doggin the outta space lick at the end you should post a whole video of billy preston outta space jam on ur nord

  • I've played this keyboard the sound is fantastic my only very slight very quiet moan is the piano is not the best i've heard but as an all in package i don't think this keyboard can be beaten.. and is for sale on Ebay for £1595 or goto the nord dealer and buy for £1409 hmmmm difficult choice

  • Very funky clav, thanks for sharing.

  • hi, thanks for the demo here. I am thinking about getting one of these myself, and I have a couple questions...

Do you find that it has a low signal output? I know someone who used a nord electro 2 and he said he had to buy a preamp because the output signal was almost non-existent.

Are there any drawbacks you find about playing this keyboard, either in a live setting or just day-to-day practicing?

Any other info about the board would be helpful! I appreciate it.

    -Bryan

  • For recording you want a good preamp at any rate, since the signal will be a bit dull otherwise. And then I would recommend the Amplitube fender amp simulator (where you can get the authentic twin reverb sound for instance).

  • Groove tubes brick preamp would be perfect.

  • and stage has pitch bender with multitimbrality, electro is monotimbral.

But the C1 engine is better than Stage's hammond engine :)

  • at 5:30 it starts to sound like something from pink floyd's sheep

  • How does this compare with the Stage?

  • I'm not sure about this...

Stage is of course much more expensive. Stage has better pianos and maybe electric pianos. Guess they share about the same organs. Stage has that 'synth' section. I don't know much about that, but it has a synth module inside.

And of course the keys are different. Unless you buy Stage 73.

  • I love this keyboard!! I need one!!

  • well...I gettin one

  • GUIDO che bellissimi suoni porca miseria...

  • Fantastic!

  • Incrible!

    The best!

  • whats the song he starts paying in 3:34??

  • sounds like the bridge from "somewhere over the rainbow". sweet rhodes- make my soul happy

  • Sounds like the beast "Deep Purple"

  • you're awesome!

  • Man i gotta get me one of these! How much do they usually run?

  • maaaaan those sounds give me chills!!!

  • The clavinet..... The NE 3 can load new sampels. So more clavinetsounds etc...

  • Very cool demonstration! The NE 3 sounds better then the E2, except for the Clavinet

  • Thats the best Demonstration of this nice Piano in YouTube.

    Props!

    Greets, C-j.

  • Dude, who ever gave that a thumbs down is just jealous...

  • "...WHERE IS SHEEEE NOW" .....great :)

  • beautiful playing dude!!!!!!

  • Man this sounds perfect, nice rhodes play.

Is it just me, or does the clavinet sound a bit thin, compare to other clavia products

  • No, I don't think so. You can choose between six different types, and change everything you need to! :)

    Great playing zioguido!

  • Clavia is trademark. Is a firm who made Electro and other like C1 organ itp.

  • the hammond sounds like a monster, the rhodes sounds great, and the clavinet seems really good as well! I noticed one thing and that was that when you played the clavinet, you didn't use any wah-wah which was wierd, but it still sounded great anyway! Nice Deep Purple and Billy Preston! Nice Job Overall! Great Playing!

  • davvero una macchina stupenda...non c'è bisogno di commenti! 5/5

  • Nice leslie grind

  • the second part of the video.... ive been tryin to decipher these chords for years... any advice is welcomed.. any websites etc that would show these?? - im from the uk where not alot of this stuff is readily available.

    thanks

  • what`s the amp??

  • can it sound like a vox organ?

  • Yes, it have both Vox Continental and Farfisa Compact emulations (not sampling, true emulation as with the Hammond)

  • Bend wheel is useless in this intrument. However it's necessary in nord lead series.

  • It could be used to blend in some effects, or to controll the speed of the leslie simulator. But wheels are more associated with synthesizers

  • It is a central part of playing Mellotron however. The choice to leave out a pitch wheel is a big misstake IMO.

  • This keyboard doesn't have a single pitch bend wheel?

That seems odd imo, since all the very cheap keyboards already have this

  • Its meant to model keyboards that don't have pitch wheel.

  • nice nice.. very good :D:D

  • man I just love this first song.. isn't this Deep purples Maybe im a Leo? anyways sounds so cool.. I just cant wait when i get enough money to buy electro 61

  • Does it have any Mellotron or Chamberlain type string simulation?

  • anyone know what the REAL differences between an Electro 3 and Stage are?

  • Electro 3 has the better organ-simulation and the capability to load in nord-sample-libraries and the pianolibraries. Stage can only load the pianolibraries, but has the synth-section and pitch stick and modulation wheel that the electro 3 doesn't have. Also the effect sections are bit different.

  • Good info! Except for the number of keys, the Stage also offers layering options that the electro 3 doesn;'t have which might be a very important feature. Nevertheless the Electro 3 kicks ass!

  • awesome, but how do the digital drawbars work?

  • Nice. Thanks for uploading this video.

How good are the semi-weighted keys for playing

    1. organ glissandi Deep Purple-style?

    2. percussive Clavinet sounds?

    3. "normal" piano / E-piano?

  • I think "normal piano" is'nt really the best way with a semi-weighted key : /

I think it's good to glissando, then Organ, Rhodes, etc

  • Very nice! ***** How were you able to get this video to play in stereo without the &fmt=18 ?

  • LOL! Don't mind me. I clicked a link to get here and didn't notice it alreadt had the &fmt=18.

  • 07:57 Billy Preston's Outta Space?

  • Yep :-)

  • Thanks dude ! that was really awesome... it would be a pleasure for me to watch a demo of the piano, farfisa and vox organ sounds too :)

the hammond section sounds like a beast... i just can't wait to get one of those helly red clavia jewels !

  • Great demo !

  • What are the major sonic differences (if any) between the Electro 2 and 3 as far as the Hammond sounds go?

  • I've read that the Electro 3 uses the Hammond modeling that was developed for the C1. It had a number of tweaks to make the sound even more realistic than the Electro 2.

  • Is that "maybe Im a Leo" by deep purple?

  • yes

  • I NEED ONE OF THESE!!!

Too bad about that legal action deal.

  • Thats bad-ass man! Great stuff...

  • Great man! Love to see some Jon Lord work here! I need this shit... anyone knows when it will be avaialable in US?

  • It's going to be at least April, 2009, and probably later as Clavia is now embroiled in legal action with their US Distributor for breaking their contract. As they say: Do NOT hold your breath.

  • Just found some info. Clavia has an announcement on its website that the new distributor in the US is expected to have product starting April 1.

  • Wow. what a lovely astonishing funky sound!!!!

you are great, good chops, and good nord electro 3!

when do you bought this product? and how much its cost? Thx

  • Great demo, and great playing
