Ideal. I mean they need to be trained, of course, especially because they are so stubborn, but if a dachshund isn't stubborn it would be a serous fault in his personality. A trained dachshund needs to make his own decisions while working underground. Haaw, I love those dogs. And that great intelligence and sometimes clown-like character make up for all the hard work you have to put into their training and education. Haaaw.
all dachshunds are stubborn! But, we love them more for it. I love the name Blueberry, too cute. I have 3 mini doxies. Check out my video "Dog Talking, I want my bed" & you will see stubborn :)
she is so cute.. her face looks almost identical to my mini doxie.. i love these dogs, they're so sweet. mine is like black with some chocolate, :) yours is beautiful though
I love my doxie. Her name is Brunhilda. We call her Hildy and the best i could make her do is go potty outside once in a while. She still has "accidents" though and I'm well aware that they're not accidental. she's so cute and I don't think I could live without her.
My Schatzie is the same way. She is now 10 years old and as willful as ever if not quite that spry. Always be careful with the sitting pretty and the jumping though. Their backs are not made for that. Schatzie injured her spine with those antics when she was 5 and my husband and I had to built ramps for her to get to the backyard safely. She also sleeps in our bed and I had to get a doggie ladder for her to climb up safely.
Maybe if you treated your dog correctly it would do what you want it to. You don't get a human being to do something by calling it lazy or grabbing it's face and making it do it. Why do you think that would work with a dog?
We With "sit" for instance, we taught ours using puppy treats, and what I would do is say sit as i put the treat near his mouth and push back until he sat. Now, 2 weeks later, he sits on command without a treat, before we put the leash on to go out, and when we come in, and just in general he'll sit. You have to learn how to go with the dachshunds "i'll figure it out on my own" attitude. He's even learning sit pretty at the moment, and will be 9 weeks old tomorrow.
We have a dachsund we have had since he was 6.5 weeks old. He is already crate trained for the most part, potty trained, leash/collar trained, knows sit, learning sit pretty, and knows "drop it". I'm noticing in your video that while training you've taken a very "playful" approach...doesn't work with dachshunds. You need to keep them focused, and use treats.
Girl: "Blueberry! Up!"
Dachshund: "I am not a smurf!"

She's not stubborn! She just can't figure out what you want her to do. "Stop playing tricks on me!" she's saying.

Very rare to have an all black dachshund. But this is true about trying to tell a doxie what to do.
