@jeschinstad oh totally! first time i saw an image of her on her cover art i told a friend how very sharp a look she had. this was before i heard the music - that face just looks whipsmart
she has amazing range and her voice quality is exquisite. she's a little "out there" but thats what makes her special. she is very talented. i love her style; very old fashioned that appeals to the modern listener. i wish she was more popular.
Fuck you fucking hater loser morons, fucking scum of the earth!
Here at least you know what's this all about right away.
It's not like when a guy has been talking total fucking B/S about a serious subject for fucking ten minutes and then you suddenly realize that the remaining ten minutes are bullshit too (and there are usually your fucking comments like "AWESOME!","AMAZING! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!", "I WOULD SUCK YOUR COCK ANYTIME!" etc)
Nellie McKay is sick, ya'll. I heard her on public radio about 2 years ago and Immediately bought her double cd. This isn't her "best" song but I really suggest you listen to more of her music. It's fun, sharp, and intelligent. She covers a wide range of topics in her music. my only complaint is that they didn't show the whole concert! have some trust that TED thinks she has value, you guys.
@uzumakifoxtube Definitely. This song, however, embodies her character. She is a musician who actually HAS a message! It's amazingly refreshing to stumble across artists who are talented but also have a message in terms of politics or human rights and whatnot. 'Ke$ha' released her 'We R Who We R' in lieu of the recent gay suicides, or so she says. There's literally NOTHING about that song that even remotely relates to being gay or the suicides, aside from the titel itself.
thats a good hobby for her, definitely... but it will have to remain a hobby, one her family should be proud of. at least she has made me curious to see how her other songs are.
TED would do very well to eliminate the music from their program. Every musician I've seen them present is of the I-don't-get-it-but-they-say-it's-art variety.
And sometimes some amie mann victoria teng wannabe ends up in a series of lectures with the stated goal of spreading ideas and knowledge and makes dog noises. Not that there isn't a place for that in some other venue but it seems to go counter to the purpose of the TED lectures. then again it was only five minutes maybe it was an intermission between interesting things or some sort of brain relaxer for people who'd just had their minds blown.
what the hell's a kate bush? Tori amos would probably actually give a lecture on something if she went to TED. She wouldn't devolve to whiney nose singing and dog noises.
that dog sound was anoying

I find this video very emotional and original.
One can also find "memes" in the arts as well. Not all human knowledge is reduced to Science.

You're case being that dog whimpers and childish rambling is equivalent to intelligent thought, and should share a forum with it?
Or that some obscure person that is meaningful to you is meaningless to me?
