I do, all the same, believe that charity begins at home, and that our government's policies have turned us into a third-rate country hanging onto the coat tails of the US, whilst being fleeced by the EU. I also believe, like you, that the media is manipulated by government.

Couldn't agree more with the comments below regarding catching this on video for the records.

I'm next to Southwaite bridge and remember seeing Mark driving over in the tractor late on Thursday afternoon, (I was surprised as there was already about four or five feet of water to go through to get on the bridge) but had no idea until Friday afternoon that he got washed away. Then I knew why he kept flying over in the morning!

you'd think they could get some temporary bridges installed fairly quickly wouldn't you ? What about the Baily bridges which deploy from tanks ? Looks pretty bad in general though :(

The Mine Owner was flying the helicopter,I was filming.

What a coincidence,we were attempting to see how to recover the tractor/trailer at the time.

Your Grandad was fortunate not to have been in the vehicle when the bridge went.

Hello, Its upto you whether you belive me or not but that silver landrover in the fields is my grandads in low lorton, He parked it on the bridge to escape the flood, But as his luck would happen the bridge collapsed and his landrover went for a swim. His house is the one on the right of the bridge as you look up the river. He had to be rescued by the fire service. I just cant belive its on here, His partners relative said a RAF seaking winched down to see if there was anybody trapped inside.

Well done Mark for taking great footage and capturing the scene for future generations. Lorton and many other villages were virtually ignored by the media, but thanks to you the full horror is filmed. You did however take great interest in the tractor and trailer at southwaite bridge, was it yours? Well Done.

Yes,it was his tractor and trailer,he unintentionally went sailing in it from the bridge which swept the whole lot down river.

He then had to walk home !
