3 months ago The only reason I was willing to pay $100 more for the MC10 instead of the MC5 was the video outputs, but oops, the morons at Sony didn't make it possible to output the video source as it's being recorded. Its only available to see during playback. Well if I'm recording a Standard DVD, why would I need to playback the video from this device when I could just remove the disc and play it back in any dvd player??? That was a deal-breaker fellas.
I was worried that it would not record in standard definition for regular DVD players. I had a big sigh of relief when he said I could do that. I'm getting this for Christmas.

@awardwin Sounds like this product wasn't the right fit for you. Did you buy it and later found out the problems, or did you realize it before making the purchase?
@getconnectedtvshow. I bought it from B&H and immediately after it was shipped, I realized this problem. I wish Sony would add Loopthrough to their device. It's frustrating because the device is perfect for my needs if they just add that feature. Nobody else has anything close to this, so I really feel frustrated about this, since I know it is possible to add Loopthrough in real time.
My question is is model VRDMC6 compatible with other Camcorders other than Sony? also what about VHS compatibility? doe your VCRs have to be Sony?
