my Dad always put just a little bit of water in the bottle, like less than half, and then break it so it wouldn't break as high. Neato tutorial!

I actually learned how to do this when my friend and I were buzzed. We were bored and he decided to do it first. We actually first learned to do it with an empty bottle.

i tried with a jones soda bottle and tried for about 15 min straight but i could not break it :(. Do u have any more tips? I tried with the part of the hand u said with too. I tried using some stuff i learned from martial arts by putting my hips and body into it, but it still didnt work, maybe i need to get a beer bottle :P

I had to much water in it. That is why it broke the way it did. I have done many many many clean breaks, I just dont have them all filmed. If I posted only the good ones, then whats the point? This video actually worked out well, showing what "Could" happen so people understand the danger behind trying to break glass bottles.

it is possible to break a bottle only half full of water but it takes skill

Yeah, I have done that many times too. Honestly, to me its easier breaking them with half the water in it, that how much I had in this video.

I have been doing this break for over 20 years. You don't need the water that high, but the more water - the easier the break. I have done it with as little as one inch. You can also break with knife hands and other techniques when your skill is high enough. Good call on the safety tip, if you squeeze the bottle you will slice yourself!!!
