No wonder I can't remember this scene. It's just too ridiculous to actually be in a Superman movie, perhaps even Superman III. They wouldn't dare actually put this in a movie? would they?
so in this he is that fast he gets down the botton and instead of changing out of cloths fast to his super suit he risks ppl seeing him do his heart beam vision and looking like he is watching loois fall!!! i like how they have the speed he move at in this better than smallville :D
i loved the Donner Cut, but i thought her jumping in Niagara Falls was a bit more realistic than jumping out of a skyscraper window. Nobody has the balls to do that, even if you think you'll be rescued by Superman.
@felix3322 Maybe His Glasses help him with focusing his Heat vision into a beam like if you take a magnifying glass to paper and use the sun to burn the paper something like that.
I like the Donner version of the movie. I just got it last week as it was for sale at a local store in some "Superman DVD box" which included it besides the 4 "official movies". It's less cartoonesque.
No what if Lois bounced onto the pavement? I thought he was going to catch her after she bounced, but he just left her to land on the fruit store. LOL
In the comic, heat vision was always invisible. In a story in which Superman's powers were magnified he fought the Parasite and for the first time the beams were visible. Regarding his glasses- as a kid he melted his first pair using his heat vision and created a second pair from shattered fragments of Kryptonian glass from the rocket he arrived in and concealed the uneven edges with the frames making them impervious to the beams.
@Zach979 you sure about that? Im not that into the comics, so im not going to argue with you about it..but the way i've always heard was that it can't be seen >.<
@Schabbbe Superman's heat vision is really a combination of microwave vision and laser vision. On low levels it wouldn't be seen but a highly concentrated blast would. So technically his heat vision is in reality a combination of two different processes. Microwave energy for melting and laser for cutting and welding. Being a huge Superman fan that's how I have always seen his heat vision. Depends how strong and what he is using it for. :)
If this was a cut? ... why didn't they keep it ... I love it! ... One thing I love about Smallville that I so wish they would do in the movies is his supers speed ... we get to see it all in slow mo and everything in Smallville ... it surely can't be hard for Hollywood!
The heat would burn his glasses :)) If he took them off and did it he'd have to show that hes superman, they should have filmed him looking over his glasses :) ^^ GOTCHA!
Everytime someone says "In the old Wonder Woman tv series Wonder Woman used a plastic Plane. I thought it was supposed to be invisble?" I am like ok moron the the plane is for the VIEWERS not the people in the series
Not necessarily, as strong heat concentrations generate movement in the particles they span. You'd likely see a small vortex form (a series of vorticies). Maybe not red beams as in a laser if he's ONLY generating heat. However, we aren't sure exactly what source of power he's using to project the heat. If it's a high-energy plasma which he emits from his eyes, plasma being a super-heated gas, then we'd see something like those red beams.
@bigollameo@bigollameo yes well i know that, but the guy i was talking to said something about shooting "fire" out of his eye, and i was merely remarking that it's not not fire therefore people don't see it the way he was thinkig of...
@jejcfan This is from Superman II. This was not used in the one that you saw theatres. This is from t he Special Edition done for Richard Donner. Donner's version was done by collecting bits and pieces of what was thought as lost footage and then put together to change the story elements.
