Did you change an original edge trem....in cosmo... for an EDGE 3... Thats a downgrade...

ive never tuned down with a floyd system so im not sure, maybe lock the floyd in position and tune the strings how you like them, then release the locking device and then the strings will hold the floyd up in place

neck pickups provide a smoother transition between runs, the bridge is primarily suited for crunch riffs and rhythm. it wouldnt sound as smooth on the bridge pickup

Maybe it was the artificial compressing or a natural threshold so dynamics wouldnt be loud!!

your right the percentage of tone that i lost was alot of dynamice especially in the high and low range and also touch response aswell, im now using: BOSS TU-2-BOSS DS-1-BOSS DD-7-BOSS DD-3-MARSHALL BB2-MARSHALL SV-1-MARSHALL RG-1 AND THE DUNLOP CRY BABY. a small amount of effects but all sound great and dont affect the amps natural tone..... as much

no my js1000 had originally a ibanez edge and i replaced it with a ibanez edge 3 as they dont make the old egde anymore unless your famous

people prefer the old ones cos you can cut the ball end off the strings insted on the edge 3 you need to keep them on, the edge 3 is an amazing trem people talk trash especially when they dont even own the trem itself

ive tried a js100 and i have to say on a picture they look similar but when you pick it up it feels/looks cheap, sounds average and the floyd isnt that smooth incomparison, save up the cash and geta used js1000 you wont regret waiting

the difference with ok and mind blowing amazing beauty..... if you are on a budget buy a used js100 and change at least the bridge pcikup to a paf pro or mo joe that would help
