I was there when they filmed this episode. Paxman got up and tried to bite the guy's nose off. Apparently the contestant had an argument about charitable donations before the show and Paxman objected to backhanded remarks that he took fees when hosting charity functions... Nobody expected him to lose it though. Reminds me of the time he started masturbating during Newsnight. I thought that 18 month suspension was quite lenient for the BBC.
