  • fucking stupid, r these people a bit gone in the head?

  • Looks like them Duke boys done got themselves in a spot of trouble.

  • That didn't go wrong... The car done a 180 kickflip.

  • Lawn Dart

  • In all honesty a modern car with 50/50 weight distribution will jump nicely. Like a 2010 BMW 325i. The engine is mounted behind the front axle, body and chassis assembly is all weight proportionate, and the battery is in the trunk. It will jump flat and straight without nosediving...... but not a '69 Dodge Charger with 70% of it's weight over the front wheels.

  • @1olrocker Watch the video again. The nose dipped the second the front wheels left the ramp from suspension load, not weight. Even a 2010 BMW 325i would nosedive off of that ramp when the rear suspension are at max load, and suddenly release when the front wheels are airborne. Ramp angle and length is more important than weight distribution for a level jump. Secondly, weight can be added to balance any car. It's not going to hurt performance when all that's expected is a crowd pleasing jump.

  • @1olrocker Bmw's have a front axle? Hmmmmmmmm..... no

  • @wagonkit

Uh, hmmmmmmmmmmmm,.... YES THEY DO...... It's not an axle like you're thinking, but an axle can be defined as the reference point at the center of the two front wheels.

  • @1olrocker k..... . Anyways, Headcase explains it pretty well. Even a car with MORE weight in the back would nose dive given the proper ramp angle and length.

  • @wagonkit

When Warner Brothers performed the jumps for the TV show they loaded the trunk with concrete slabs to prevent stuff like what you see on this clip from happening, and if you ever watched any outtakes or behind the scenes/deleted scenes of the Dukes (if you had the DVDs of all the seasons), you would see how the vast majority of the jumps they performed the Charger landed either rear wheels first or pretty much level, and the length/angle of the ramp had nothing to do with it.

  • @1olrocker That's because of the weight.... the weight makes up the difference in lack of ramp/angle. Assuming you had little or no weight in the back, you would need the proper legnth of ramp and angle to prevent a nose dive.... You've actually already admitted to this, it a few other replies... not really sure why or what your trying to argue now...

  • People who try this stunt are stupid. First, you look really dumb nosediving the car - and due to the extreme front heavy weight of the old Chargers you WILL nosedive. The way the producers of the show kept the car level on most of the jumps we all loved watching was they loaded the trunk with about 1,000 pounds of concrete and/or steel slabs. It kept the car from nosediving and protected the stunt drivers so they didn't end up with their heads out the roof and upside down.

  • i loved this show but also...i hate how many 69 chargers they destroyed in the making, and are still destroying today...its sad...

  • Filming companies should not be allowed to touch another 69 Charger...or any classic for that matter....

  • it was a dukes of hazzard mini stunt show in covington (where the show"s first episodes were filmed) i was there! they did have a wheelie general too but everyone left after that jump!

  • I love the car but that was a problem with that car, it was always so nose heavy because of that 440 monster under the hood. Is it a 440? I can't remember, some people say it's a hemi but I don't think so.

  • @joelorefice1

The cars used for the TV show were all either 318 or 383s. No Magnum 440s or Hemi 426s were used.

  • When will these rednecks learn? *Face Palms*

  • what went wrong? looked great.

  • FUCKING FAGGOTS

  • Why? Really why?? Another Charger just destroyed!

  • Quick Rossco , nows your chance to catch them.

  • There is so much danger here where do I start. First of all, the crowd was WAY too close to this shit. See how squirrely the car is before it hits the ramp? Those people standing near the ramp are IDIOTS. The ramp was a straight ramp, meaning there was no "concave" shape to it. This type of ramp ALWAYS kicks the back end up after take off. My guess is that this was exactly the desired landing, considering if the car lands flat with no padding, the driver gets broken vertabrae.

  • You need to get all your angles right when performing ramp stunts

  • OUCH!

  • fucking idiot ... Why do people keep wrecking classic cars like the charger

  • That was general lee shameful :P

  • This was the Covington jump on June 28, 2003. I was there and got to see this car up close. Trust me, this Charger was beyond saving. This was not an original show car, it was a rusted out shell with a warped frame that was put back together with bondo and held together with wires or whatever they could find. The motor looked like it came from the junkyard, there was no interior, and I doubt there was an original part on it. This car was too far gone to save. The paint job hides a lot of ugly.

  • @CaptainAwesome1981 ok thts good to know cause I was bout to be pissed

  • How is destroying another GENERAL LEE charger, a tribute to the duke of hazzard?

wouldn't you want to preserve as many as you could?

  • 9thSFGTrogdor your a fuckin dumb ass that is a charger and chargers were out before challengers stupid ass and what a dumb ass thing to do what a waste of a charger

  • Another charger DEAD....

  • How to waste 15000$

    It's a shame

  • Yes. It was definitely a Charger. If my memory serves me correctly, a model year of 1969. Someone else said a Challenger. It was not a Challenger at all.

  • no it's a 68. the 69's had the split grille. the 68's were solid straaight through

  • you reckon? hmmm

  • the general lee is definitely a charger

  • i was preying hed fuck it up

i love chargers but anyone who paints in dedication to the dukes of hazard or just in general treats a charger like thise deserves to get messed up

  • Thats why they had many cars for the show, one for long jumps, one for short jumps, one for burnouts, one for sliding, one for static shots, etc. also because this type of things happened all the time... they wrecked at least 2 cars per episode...Stunt car driving is not easy... at all.

  • how to fuck up a classic,

  • 180 ;D

  • Man that really scuffed his vehicle. That was a herendus crash. Would have killed 10 ordinary people.

  • Hahaha...good one there Rosco!!

  • Watching this reminds me of that beautiful customized gloss black '69 Charger R/T Hemi horrificly crashing in the movie "The Fast and the Furious". Wasted!

  • That was a 70 Charger and it's on Ebay right now!

  • Awsome! Hearing that makes seeing this alittle less painful!

  • that's a `69... the `70 has bumper that completely surrounds the grille... the `68-69's just have the smaller bumper that is below the grille. Fucking shame to wreck a car as lovely as a Charger for a stupid stunt.

  • the one int he fat and the furious wasn't totaled, it cost 3/4 the price of the car itself to repair i heard.

  • sorry for spelling errors, my keyboard is a bitch.

  • Great, but the vehicle's best price value just went down. Because it was rebuilt, it is no longer in outright original condition, which could easily sell double the actural base value being it was featured in a successful motion picture movie. Ergo, is the saying every savvy classic car collector asks: "Does the car have any dents or got into any fender-benders there?" A classic car with a bented frame fixed up is not considered too valuable (though, it having movie damage may have merit).

  • It huts my eyes to see that charger geting smashed

  • Cool! it landed backwards!

  • at least he landed

  • why cant i see the video

lovin this video!! leave me a comment Yq

  • dumbasses, thats why you don't take front end heavy cars on ramps that fast

  • What a waste.....

  • lol, whiplash?

  • Serves them right? For what having fun? What a dick. And it sounds like someone is a little jealous of rednecks. At least we are killing our selves having good fun! Not shooting at people or worried only about fashion and money! At least we keep it real!

  • WTF did they think would happen?! Stupid rednecks.

  • what a waste of a good Charger. And who gives a shit if the spectators get pummeled?! I think that be a lot cooler if they did...servers them right.

  • The spectators are WAY too close. There are other videos on youtube showing spectators of similar stunts getting absolutely pummelled by out of control stunt car landings.

  • wow i can't believe they had people that close to the car

  • well, he landed right-side-up anyway.

  • FAIL

  • Wow, as if the show didn't ruin enough of them...this guy comes along.

  • was that supposed to happen

  • The TV show destroyed heaps of them and I read was part of the reason for the show getting cancelled, they were getting too hard to find on a weekly basis.

  • what a fool ruining one of the few remaining Challengers out there... they should be garage-kept and maintained as the classics they are

  • that is deffintley not a challenger its called a charger

  • It's probably just a copy. A real Charger is worth too much to just wreck it for fun...

  • i dont care if that was a copy i hope that someone is gonna fix it again if possible it was a great show but they wrecked way to many chargers one beautiful car tho

  • They only wrecked like 400... :P

  • ummm my friend that is a 69 Charger not a challenger

  • stop killing chargerss!

  • not cool at all just a damn shame

  • I hate the idea of these Chargers being destroyed but if that isnt a testament to how solid old American cars are nothing is.

  • Ever if they are junk yard cars, it is a waste. I have seen total rust buckets come back from the dead. Just think of our younger generations!!!!

    Stop killing Chargers!!

  • This car will come back too. There are plenty of replacement parts out there.

  • This is why you can never find 1969 Dodge Chargers! ARGH!

  • your i thought it of been fiberglass but those dents are unmistakeable

  • Yeah, fiberglass would have just shattered I think.

  • or it would look like torn fabric

  • This was the stunt TRAVIS BELL organised. It did'nt go wrong! Where did you get that idea from? The engine was in the back of this charger so it would"fly" better. It did'nt but, it does'nt mean it was a complete failer. Quote from Travis " I would either be the man who would jump the general agian or the head red neck who threw a car at 2000 people". Eubank was the pilot.

  • Comment removed

  • another charger bites the dust...even if it was a hanger i would of had it :(

  • pound the dents out with a hammer tape the trunk hood back down and sell it neftynev66 for 20k - jokeing

  • One of the car magazines covered this event and the car itself was a derelict, almost nothing of value on it. They added about 8 gallons of bondo and threw a paint job on it to make it look good from 20 feet away. The only thing of value that got wrecked were the aftermarket wheels.

  • nooooo anything but the wheels

  • hahaha

  • i cant believe the crowd were allowed to stand that close...no barriers or anything.....what a waste of a car.....even as a wreck its worth over 20k in australia....

  • it`ll buff out...

  • maybe he meant to do that?

    jk. :)

  • thats waz gay as hell ad well even if that were the hemi then u guys would have trashed it and i would hvae been madder then hell so stay away from the real one

  • LOL these are not Hemi cars that would piss off the accountants too much even the original show didnt use the Hemi cars most of these are probably 318 equipped cars most likely basket cases from the junkyard prettied up for the filming

  • thats ok in the next scene it will come out perfect

  • its cool, but so MF stupid to kill one more charger.. its a the guys below said, a waste for no practical reason!

  • waste of a car.... even if it does go right its wrecked

  • That didn't look very wrong... that looked pretty good to me. What was he supposed to do?? Land on his fucking wheels??? Yeah right... when pigs fly out my ass. Oh wait, look, there they are.

  • the car was designed to land like that. If it hadn't the car would have wound up in the creek just past the camera. the second thing is the cars are not HEMI car, they are junk. you should see the cars before bondo and paint.

  • that gave me a stomach ache. :(

  • Yes, they use the real thing. Restored Hemi cars, actually.

The countryside is littered with rusted-out bare hulks of old musclecars but they hunt out perfect restored ones to trash. The stunt crew likes paying huge money for a car that's gonna get crunched. It would take all the fun out of it for the car to have any bondo or anything on it.

  • 10.000 dollars or more douwn the drain.

  • if assholes are gonna trash cars use a goddamned toyota or some shit dont trash cars that are worth a shit

  • I can barely get parts for mine and they are doing this kind of shit with them? Assholes........

  • that better have been a kit car and not a real charger

  • True American classic car.

  • This whole thing looks irresponsible. Speeding thru a gate (from a public road?) to preform a launch with that many people so close. no police barriers or yellow tape to restrict people..

  • You're right. They're lucky that s.o.b. didn't land on spectators. Really poorly arranged.

  • i agree3 use an import u fuck, why would u do that to a charger

  • You would think a different way if they would have used imports. Youd see chargers all the time and they wouldnt be worth jack shit. Plus, watching dukes of hazzard.. that would be gay as hell, you would hear the fart can the entire show.

  • fucin retarded people ruining cars like that for a stupid movie start smashing imports you dumb fucks

  • pooor charger

  • That's one way to ruin a classic.

  • go jump a gay ass ricer like a civic not that awsome charger

  • its not that bad of a wreck... thats easy to fix

  • it's not a easy car to get parts for...it's not a new car

  • Oh man I wish I was the guy in that Charger! FLY BABY, FLY!

  • totaly fuked up a nice car

  • go wreck japscrap not muscle!!!

  • yeah, why wreck a gorgeous old and rare car like that?! you should be wrecking some of that shit that the japs insist on selling us all!!

  • Here's some trivia for you PukesFest lovers: I just received word that on this jump there is a 74 Monaco under it. Well that car was the EXACT car Daisy steals from Rosco and the EXACT one in the opening credits! Now wouldn't that be better used in a real convention for years and years of fans instead of this humping hillbilly event? It is a waste to damage ANY of these cars. Go jump a Prius or Honda instead.

  • why JUMP a prius, i say just hit it at full tilt, its a gay ricer wagon

  • Poor car

  • That was the real "Dukes" TV stunt people doing this. They didn't have a good run-up to the ramp and it nosedived mostly because it was bouncing as it took off.

As for the car -- get over it.

It already had a bent unibody from a previous wreck, had no interior at all, 5 gallons of bondo went onto the body, the hood had a scoop hole patched, the grill was held together with zip ties, and the 440 motor was later pulled out and used again.

  • I feel better now reading your description.

  • its like a hotwheel

  • dude chargers are the best car ever

  • what a moron! spend all kinda money to make a nice car and then ruin it! dumbass!

  • they spent nothin on these they were junk yard flyers

  • fuckin goofs fer wreckin the car

  • i hate it one ppl trash the most beauiful car ever i hate that dam dukes of hazzer show cuz they wasted so meny chargers

  • whoever did -3 is stupid. Let em fly

  • just 2 think how many chargers they waste just 2 get it rite

  • aim for the crowd next time

  • that aint very rong

  • STOP...Grammar time!

  • HAHAHA!

  • You mean these IDIOTS actually paid to see this SHIT live? What a waste of vintage MOPAR!!!!!

  • lol

  • lol id get out n say "that little flip at the end was all part of the stunt" lmfao

  • NOOOOOOOOOO THEY BE TAKEN ME 69! (you people sicken me! >:(

  • wow that thing looked like it was ok to do it all over agian

  • you make me sick you _________ ___ _____!!!

  • you sound like you totally watched the video...-_-

it was a pretty sweet one.

  • Use the new dodge chargers out today instead of these classics. As far as weight in the trunk. Have Rosie O donnel or roseanne bar in the trunk, that will level it off. Or make it land trunk first.

  • ffs cant they use like a barely running charger or a fiberglass body or somthing and not wreck whats left of them

  • Don't get me wrong... I'm a HUGE fan of the show and the General Lee, but for fuck sake man, were there not enough Dodge Chargers distroyed during the making of the series? Now, just for fun, we go and destroy yet another. This is an American classic thats numbers continue to decrease. We can not afford to distroy ANY more. Looking for an AWESOME General jump... buy the series DVD!!

  • I was there. It actually went as they intended. The car didn't veer into the crowd and the car landing as it did absorbed the impact.

  • you are supposed to put at least 500 pounds in the trunk for it to level out

  • PFFT.. WHO NEEDS IT LMFAO

  • I thought tat went pretty good :D

  • that was siickk!!!

  • nice

  • that 454 hemi was pullin it back to earth!

  • hilarious

  • MY DREAM CAR!NOOOOoooo! What a waste of a beautiful powerful car

  • waste of a awesome car hillbilly douche bags

  • look at the bright side... it didn't go flying into the audience

  • I think hes a fucking retard

  • i think its because the car was off its center of gravity it comes bonceing around that corner so when he hit the jump the stocks pushed the car up and because it didnt have a even weight distribution it was sent forward

    thats just my opinion

  • That poor, poor car.

A part of me wants to beat the driver for not knowing how to properly jump such a front-heavy car, and another part of me just wants to just headdesk repeatedly.

  • if u look closly u can see after he got to the lip of the ramp he let go of the gas thats one of the reasons it crased either that or theres a rubber head behind the wheel or there were no weights to balance it out

  • what a waste of a good car! lol nice jump also

  • fuck andrew

american cars rule not them front wheel drive rice burner jap ass shit

  • Sadly, american keep buying them rice burners :S

  • You mean the Cavalier, Impala, Taurus, etc are rear-wheel-drive?

  • yeah fuck you andrewi808 u can kiss my ass when i blow past u in my supercharged '71 chevy nova bitch suck on that

  • u know why the stunt goes wrong? Because the car was lack of special weight box installed on its rear trunk to balance the car when it jump

  • i cant see how brad mark and ev can say that your all v platers

  • tahts ok, american cars suck anyways. except the el camino

  • Damn, that's a hell of a wipeout. When they did those stunts on the show, they always filled the trunk of the General Lee with weights so it didn't nosedive like that. The stunt crew I mean, not the Duke Boys. Apparently this guy didn't.

  • inflate, that was a very telling comment you made about filling the trunk of the car. .I reckon 99% of the jumps in the series DID make it back on 4 wheels - of course there is always a slight risk of going up the ramp too fast or miscalculating weights etc.

  • nathan your a fag

    from: brad mark and ev

  • lol

those crazy rednecks and there flying automobiles!
