Hi professor. I have got a chinese violin which produce sound different from the sound of violin you play in video. Is that because i bought the cheaper one or i am unable to tune it properly?

I am holding everything perfectly, except the last little finger which is always tense, it helps me carry the weight of the bow many times, but I am wondering if it doesnt slide the bow a bit....plz tell me how to correct that..i've tried and always failed
This, and all your other bow tutorials have been enormously helpful to me - and I've played violin for almost 50 years! My old teacher didn't put enough emphasis on bowing, but it's taken me a long time to realise this. The left hand isn't that much help in producing a good sound. It's all (or mostly) in the bow!
my fingers are really long and thin so all of my knuckles stick out and I can't hold the bow and I can't help fighting this problem which makes my hand not relaxed
I love the way you explain such subtle issues, because you really make us see the problem and the solution to it.
Only thing with me is that when I reach a correct and nice position in my bow hand, I suddenly realize that my left hand, which was perfect two seconds before, is bent with horrible tension, so as soon as I tell my self "I must relax!", I get so stiff that the whole exercise is a mess ....... Luckily I have only two hands .....
Thanks for the new info Professor, I've been interested in learning to play the violin since I've watched one of your videos, even without my own violin. ^^
I have a problem with my left hand. My thumb is extremely under tension and I press it to hard against the fingerboard. Do you have any tipps for me to reduce that? Your videos are awesome!
Thanks for another interesting and useful video professor. My particular tension problems lie with my jaws and my left hand. When I am learning a new tune I tend to clench my jaws and press down on the strings too hard, particularly with my index finger.
Hi NingasKugon09, don't worry about making it perfectly flat, we just want relaxation and control. I was recently watching an old video of Peter Schidlof playing the Walton viola concerto and he had a hold that was very stiff, yet he was such an incredible artist. There are many ways to play.
@professorV Thank you so much for the encouragement...shall i put marking strips on the finger board to improve my intonation? or is that a no, no thing to do.
