Hi Bhavna, i never knew that we can pre cook and freeze kala dal...u made my cooking life easier my sister...should we pressure cook with salt or without? god bless you my sister..
I use pressure cooker so It takes about 12-15min only...but if you boil in open pot, it takes about an hour...but sometimes what I do, I always have ready canned kidney beans in my pantry so all I have to boil is just black gram and chana dal so I use my pressure cooker to boil them...and I recommend to soak all your beans lentils overnight for best result...enjoy!
Everyone stop commenting on the fact that she didn't add the Chana Dal, she clearly states in the video that she didn't boil any so she wasn't going to add it but your welcome to add it if you wish.

This is a new recipe for me. Therefore does it taste different with the chana daal? or better with chana daal. However, are you cooking for the family or teaching new cooks or viewers how to cook Dal makani?
I sometimes make with chanadal and it does taste little good but does not make whole lot of difference...but it is good for your health to add different beans and lentils..enjoy!
Hello! I loved watching your presentation. Do you have a recipe with the list of ingredients and the amounts used? That would help me immensely! Thanks :>D
when I make onion paste, I make only with onion. I heat up oil, suate onion and sometimes, add ginger and garlic as well. Cook till tender and make paste..enjoy!
If you don't use pressure cooker, how long do you need to boil the urad and channa dhal? I appreciate that this is much easier with pressure cooker. .
But you were using the wrong spoon.wooden spoon should be used.the noise of it was irritating and your cream looked like milk. Should be thick cream or whipped.
thanks.but i like it your simple way cooking dal makhani.
I have corrected myself on using wooden or other nonstick spoons if you see my recent videos, you will find them good. Now, i know that heavy whipped cream is used, but I feel so heavy if I add heave cream. So I add coconut cream or sometimes I use fat milk or simply fat free dry milk powder. Me and my family enjoy a lot when it islittle light...enjoy!
But who is telling you that you should like me or my recipes. I don't expect from people to like me or my recipes.
