@pepekong Sega developed game. Nintendo published it. Sega got Nintendo's permission to use Mario and Nintendo gave some of their funds for the game. I used to think Nintendo bought out Sega then I found out that Sega got out of the console business but still makes games with third-party developers mainly Nintendo. Nintendo probably funded the commercials to poke fun at Sonic though.
