I am confused by everyone talking about Louise Brook's "tragic" end. She was in fact celebrated in her late life. A rediscovery of her movies is what led to this video being made in the first place. Go read her books, watch the interviews that were done with her in the 80's, and then tell me if she was a "tragic" figure.
Louise Brooks was an incredible person. In today's world, she'd be a megastar. She is already in my book. Most of her movies are available, as well as books by her and about her. Fascinating.
You folks should go seek out the movie "Pandora's Box". If you can get yourself to watch a silent movie you won't be at all disappointed. At the end the movie will having you feeling not good........ but in a good way.
Fantastic song and astonishingly gooooooorgeous Louise Brooks. She is sexy without a word and in black`n`white. Try to imagine her in a movie nowadays? Wowwwwww she personified the eternal beauty of youth
Essa musica marcou todo uma geração de amigos q ate hj podemos nos reunir e sempre relembrar esses bons momentos q jamais voltaram. Galera da batata e ao meu grande irmão Paulo tuba....
@anrods so very true.i'm the same age, have 2 youngsters and they're being educated about music, talent, taste!! no wonder i can never find my albums, etc!!!
Louise Brook's biography by Barry Paris is an amazing read! I definitely recommend it and I'm not even much of a reader! She was a really brilliant and tragic figure at the same time. Her beauty was so captivating!
The main point is , it's a hell of a lot better than the trash we are subjected to today ................. my own halcyon days were 78 - 88 and I'm still playing and partying along to all this good stuff .... will we still be playing grott like gaga in 30 years time ?? I think not......................
@#Sirstino : who/what forces you that you cannot party to this music? Make your own party with your friends, you'll be surprised how many people around you will enjoy it . I love oldies-parties at my home :)
Yes, released in the early 90's but OMD were an early 80's group as you know and their style never changed... even their latest album could be from the 80's..
@nonohino we should have re elected Bush or Perot.....Clinton dectroyed our culture, w destroyd our foreign policy, Obama is destroying our domestic policy and just wait till they legalize the enemy with the Dream Act and throw them all into the military....just what they want at least three million more soldiers to round us up for just wanting to be left alone and raising our children to our culture....bring back America the 80's or the 50's ....it is almost too late....Buchanan2012
bdafgo are you kidding??? If i had a time machine I wouldn't be stopping at the 80s. It would be straight back to 1928 and wherever Louise Brooks was.
I wish I was born earlier so I could party to this music! Now I'm 20 and I hate it to go to a dance club just because of the shit they are playing nowadays.
Luckily, internet offers alot so I can listen this music anyways!
@Sirstino I'm an "eigthies girl" and I can tell you that I'm nostalgic about that time ! It was the best time of my life ! I went on two concerts of the latest tour of Depeche mode and I saw people of every age : to 13 to 45-50 years amazing ! eighties never die !
@picalineau Experienced the same at the last DM concerts. if the music is great, it is eternal. same with omd. and to all the people who know it all, omd started in the 70s and still made music in the 90s. never mind the decade enjoy the music
@Sirstino HA HA I HAVE SAME WISH!!! I WAS BORN IN 1968, AND I ALWAYS HAD A WISH TO BE BORN EARLIER SO I CAN PARTY IN THE WILD 1960'S. I LOVE 1960'S....
I wish Louise could have seen the miracle of YOUTUBE and known what people feel about her. I wish she could have known how loved she is and respected for her extraordinary talent. Thank you James Card and thank you OMD.
I liked this song in the 80's but had no idea what it was about. Recently I saw the video on YOUTUBE and learned about the legent of Louise Brooks. She is the most beautiful and captivating woman ever to appear in film.
I wish Louise had gone back to Hollywood and done the voiceover for The Canary Murder Case. Had she done that her life would have been so different (damm you George Marshall). I was saddened by what become of her.
@mikehhome She was a tough lady, and despite years of poverty and drink problems she bounced back with her writing. She always said she hated Hollywood anyway. She was way too intelligent, outspoken and single-minded to be a studio slave. Brooksie may have had a hard life but she was never one to harbour regrets. That's why she was special. And we'll always remember that spectacular beauty!
The song it's awesome, but it's Louise Brooks whom I found fascinating, she was a great actress, we cannot hear her voice in her movies but her facial expressions and gestures, the tenderness, innocence and spirit in her acting can be seen beyond the frames of this video, she was a gifted one and she has survived all this years because of her charming talent, just like all the old Hollywood celebrities she was natural, no botox, lifting or surgeries for them as it should be, only talent survives
