Listening to some fine versions of "Memories are Made of This," including Dean Martin's hit, but this version knocked them all out of my head. Great job, these guys.
thank you for adding vaya con dias. I have been looking for this song on here for a long time. I even tryed to put it on here cuase I have it but I did not succeed. Really nice and thank you once again..
Wow, that sure enough is one wicked infectious arrangement on "Memories Are Made Of This" it damn near had me dancing on the ceiling! ... Say, GEO is there any chance you can post "Sweets For My Sweets" by The Drifters? ... Clayton Moore rode a white horse...
Ya mean no fool has put it up here yet? Maybe I'll put together another Drifters as the weeks go by. Need to be careful with copyright since Sweets should be readily available. I like to show what's not otherwise available. Marty Robbins meets Clayton Moore.
That's useful info. Lieber and Stoller! I never tried to collect all their second phase songs. I'll look for Moonlight Bay. It seems that it was on their 1958 LP Rockin and Driftin. It must have been on the 1980s 2-LP set "Let the Boogie-Woogie Roll".
There's a very complete CD set now of their 1959-1965, but it stops short of their last few good singles like MemoriesMThis.
It's like the Everly complete set of 1960-65. Along comes geosilver and says "there were good ones after that too".
just a comentary: This are from the sixties, but in the 50's I think that the only pop classic that they recorded was the great bands classic "moonlight bay". It was the B side of their hit "drip drop".It has strings and a very nice arrangement, near their 60's sound, because it was the first time leiber and stoller took over the drifters artistic direction. But is sadly forgotten in their recopilations of their greatest hits.
No, its a pitty it isn't in that double CD, but I think that the LP is now in a CD and there is Moonlight bay, almost all from that LP are in the double CD, but not moonlight bay. I have a copie from the original 45 rpm record. And thanks for temptation, is one of my great all time favorites, and this is very very good.

This is a hugely underrated album by The Drifters. Be sure to get the Sequel 'Definitive Anthology' CD version of this album- packed with extras.
I have been listening to this album alone in the car for the last few weeks. I particularly like 'More' and 'Tonight.'

I just found that Sweets is up by loucacciot. It didn't show up in a search for Drifters Sweet for some reason.
Also notice that Some Kind Of Wonderful is not the original hit master.
