It's actually quite simple why Amanda picks on Abi. It's because their personalities clash - sometimes people are drawn to 'pick on' people they see as either vulnerable or something envy, or in this case, both. Yes, it's because Abi is beautiful and young, and it's also because Abi reacts in a way that makes her a 'victim' which is the reaction Amanda is looking for. It's about power. Abi should have been tougher though, Amanda is a psychotic scare-crow and should be taken with a pinch of salt
