  • its because the little boy was jumping

  • eliot what dit you do ?

nothing only jumping to wild be that poor pony

  • bababbahahahhahha elliot what did u do! BLAME IT ON THE KID WHY DONT YA

  • I would have kicked the crap out of that pony!

  • hehe lol to the shetland pony

  • well yeah.. they are, for all intent and purposes, wild horses and that's the reason theres signs throughout the forest telling people not to feed them lol

  • Not to be rude either but you were a little close to that pony and there were quite a lot of you which would of made him uncomfortable, but it was funny, but be careful:-)

  • I'm sorry to be rude or anything but really, Stupid people near horses never work out.

This could of lead to disaster quite quickly. Lucky the mare was smaller than you.

  • when the horse or pony runs after u stand there and swing a your hands so they stay away from u.

  • :D

  • LOVE it!

  • this just made my day...:)

  • I bet these arent even your ponies...Just like to feed them things for cuddles... why do people feed ponies crap. It spoils them, makes them beg and nip for more food. And half the stuff people feed to horses are poisonous to them!

  • defenatly lead mare she doesnt tolerate anything ahahah love that pony

  • Man this is funny x) couldnt stop laughing for about 2 hours!!! lol

  • Do not feed the ponies! There are signs everywhere - not only is it very dangerous for kids but the ponies look for food from the cars - this leads to dozens of road casualties every year! Very cute - BUT DONT DO IT!!

  • Omg im sorry but thats hilarious! x

  • And this is why there are signs on the forest telling people not to touch or feed the livestock. Its ignorant people like yourselves that cause accidents that lead to ponies being ordered off the forest. Stupid tourists.

  • the people were alittle close, there WAS a few too many ppl around that horse, and the little boy started making a huge commotion (jumping, flinging his arms) near the horse. correct me if im wrong, but doesn't sudden commotion spook a horse and they go into "kick" mode, trying to fight off whatever causes the commotion or fear?

  • @Wolferific Personaly, quite a few horses will. My horse, if you're on the ground, will give you "the look" and mentaly ask "Are you serious, idiot?" However, if you're on his back he will spook. But if they're surrounded, yeah, they'll likely fight.

  • if that kid jumped behind my pony..he would go sick:L

  • My pony does the same everyone now and then.

  • pony: PERSONAL SPACE!!!

  • My pony do the same! xD

  • LOL hahahaha omg to friggen cute gotta love them spunkiy ponies

  • aww your being bad let me give you 20 more treats!!!! jesus.

  • Guys read the description, they were in the newforest, these ponys are wild, but tame.

  • @CharlieRudolf if only people could read! bless em :')

  • Do you have any idea how dangerous that ist? going into a field of lose horses with your kids?? Why do americans do such things? dont you think that a kick could really hurt? do you not think of your kids? Like what the fuck how stupid and ignorant must one be to do that! clearly you arent the owners otherwise you would have been more responsible!

this makes me so mad! If one of the kids gets hurt its always the ponies faut and neeever the fault of the STUPID parents!

  • @ninilein1505 They're not American..

  • @ninilein1505 They're not Americans. Besides if you walked into someone's field in America and started harassing their pony you'er likely to get shot, the police called on you, or punch in the face...just depends on which part of the country. LOL

  • fiesty one she is.haha

  • why did you run away don t let him get away with it

  • More like when people turn ponies bad. :P My pony would never act like this b/c he has been trained well and he's only 4. I corrected his bad habits at 2yrs old. He knows that there are only two palces he is allowed to blow off steam with kicking and bucking and YEHAWing around. That is the pasture and the round pen, he can moter in circles around me all he wants.

  • She quite rightly told him off the way she would any other animal be it a horse, dog or human. You would have no right to lay a hand on her if it was your behavior that instigated the problem. Being human doesn't earn you automatic respect. That boy will have learnt his lesson and will be none the worse for it, he'll just respect a horse’s space next time he's around one. And just wait till the day you decide to hit a horse, I'm sure it'll teach you a lesson you won't forget in a hurry.

  • @TheeScarletFoxx "Clearly she respects humans" What respectful horse do you know barges people for treats, kicks out at a kid, barges for more treats, runs that kid off, and then chases the other boy around the field barging for more treats? What kind of horses do you surround yourself with? She should learn it's not okay to kick out at people for anything other than self defense. If the boy had say kicked her and she kicked back, good on her. The boy was jumping, doing no harm but annoying her.

  • @XceptingDeniall At the beginning of the video she is respecting them? It's when the noise and erratic movements start that the red-flags go up for her. In the same way that we educate them, they too should be allowed to educate us; which she did.

And if you worked at my barn you'd be out of a job. My horses have enough trust, manners and respect not to exhibit any of that behaviour- and I own a stud farm! So thanks, but my stallions are politer than most horses.

    Natural horsemanship for you...

  • @TheeScarletFoxx These have all been new horses who have been on trial at my barn. None of the horses we own would ever make a move like that to anyone.

So if you jumped around one of your studs, and he kicked you..it would be him educating you and he would not be corrected?

  • @XceptingDeniall They wouldn't do it as they've been exposed to every possible scenario and are even ridden by children on occasion/been used for stunt riding etc. They are safe and fun. Also my boys are domesticated and are treated as PETS. They're not semi-wild unbroken ponies living on the forest. Education doesn't require violence and it's a shame people like you think it does.

These people put themselves and their children into this situation. The outcome is their fault not the ponies.

  • @XceptingDeniall Horse should not have done that. I agree fully. Horse needed to be disciplined for that by its owner. But to me these people don't seem to be the owners - they seem to be random people that stopped by and went into the field - and we all know how dangerous that can be. This mare was being food aggressive and tryin to clear him out b/c he was being annoying and threatening - like maybe he was going to come take the feed or she took his hand waving as he was wanting HER to move

  • @TheeScarletFoxx I work at a barn, and have smacked horses before for kicking out and biting and if they ever try and run me over on the lead. Only in situations in which I need to defend myself. None has ever "taught me a lesson" in return. They realize I smacked them because they were trying to hurt me and don't do it again.

  • @TheeScarletFoxx "And if you worked at my barn you'd be out of a job." Good thing I'd never work for someone like you than, huh.

  • Naughty pony! Although jumping about near ponies is hardly the best idea she still should have known that attacking a human is out of line so quit giving the kid a hard time he weren't harming her he was just being a child and the mare was treating him as she would another horse hardly ideal.

  • @Juniorsmummy He didnt attack the kid. He scared her, i doubt that that mare, is used to having little children jumping up and down and waving their hands behind him. Thats their natural instinct. To PROTECT themselves. And it is obvious that she is the leading mare, and she wanted to protect her herd. All she wanted was a bit of food, not to have some kid jumping around in behind of her.

  • ehh, he bucked because he was in shock because

of that boy behind him,, so never do anything like that please!!

and if you are scared, the pony can feel it

so that's why he looks so angry because he is scared

  • Doesn't matter if she's the lead mare in the field, someone needs to teach her whenever there is a human in there, they are the higher up.

Disrespectful behavior is not "funny" just cause the mare is small. It's like people who think its cute when toy dogs are naughty.

  • @XceptingDeniall Eurgh, ignorant people like you drive me insane. Being human doesn't make you better than any other creature, especially when you've gone into THEIR environment (you can clearly see that they are in the New Forest/Dartmoor or somewhere similar meaning that the ponies are semi-wild). Despite the behaviour not being funny, it taught everyone there a lesson and the mare was well within her rights to behave that way. That child won't act like that around a horse again in a hurry.

  • @TheeScarletFoxx It isn't perfectly clear that they are in a semi-wild envirnment, there a plenty of pastures for domesticated horses around here that look similar to that. I've never been to New Forest/Dartmoor so how should I know? Anyway, animals who will be in contact with humans need to learn to respect humans and we need to learn to respect them. It's the only way we will get on.

  • @XceptingDeniall I'm sorry, but once again you've shown your ignorance. What you've just said means that I could surely justify coming into your home, pissing you off and then giving you a 'good whack' when you told me to either behave myself or leave. Respect one another? Yes, fair enough. Start hitting them when things don't go our way? Er, no.

  • @TheeScarletFoxx She kicked out when she didn't get her way and then continued to chase him off. And then she chased the other boy around bugging for a treat. A smack would have communicated that kicking out at him was not okay and to not do it again. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to tip toe around and be respectful to any animal (including humans) that has absolutely no regard for me. If an animal tries to harm me, I'm going to defend myself.

  • @XceptingDeniall Smacking an animal for reacting fearfully only reinforces the behaviour because it tells them they were right to be scared. That kick was a fear reaction, a smack would have made things worse. Yes a little tap on the neck when she started demanding treats but beside that best thing would have been to quietly move back. The shouts made her freak more.

  • @XceptingDeniall From the horses there I would not say that these are semi-feral at all since these are Shetlands and some horse not Dartmoors, Exmoors or Quantocks. Plus there is a gate and hedge in the background. They call it a him but its obviously a mare so these are not their horses or at their stables so why the hell are they feeding a strange pony junk on someone's property. I know not to feed a stranger's horse without permission or it CAUSES the demanding behaviour seen at the end.

  • @GeordieTerrier It was not fear based. She was annoyed with the the boy, not scared of him. If she was so scared she would have kicked and ran off, not kicked, demand for more treats, then chase the boy of with pinned ears when he got close again. I agree disciplining a scared horse is horrible and extremely counter productive, but this little mare was not scared in the least bit.

  • @GeordieTerrier it says in the description that they're in the New forest. NF ponies can grow up to 14.2 that's the horse you can see in the background. The ponies ARE semi-wild here.

  • @XceptingDeniall If the people didn't make the problems they wouldn't need to 'defend' themselves. They chose to feed the horse/ignore the signs which are EVERYWHERE in the Forest stating not to feed the horses as they may bite. It's their fault. Kicking out at him isn't ideal but how else is she to communicate her displeasure at his behaviour and make him stop? Clearly she respects humans but will not put up with bad behaviour... she just took the initiative when the parents didn't stop him.

  • No, the boy shouldn't have been jumping about but the mare shouldn't have kicked out. I never said humans are "better" than animals, just that we need a respectful relationship. He learned the lesson of how to behave around a horse and if someone would have given her a good whack she would have learned how to behave around people. Just because she's semi-wild doesn't mean she can be so pushy and dangerous. If we need to respect her, she needs to respect us.

  • Haha that whats so funny, ignore the others, the boy didn't realise it would spook the pony and no harm was done bless them. I always titbot my horses and ponies and do the same with horses in the new forest. Don't titbit, ok guys next time you want a chocolate bar we will respond with no titbits.

If the pony was really peed off it wouldn't of made such a half hearted attempt to show dominace, just let it be people it was only a bit of fun.

  • This is why there are thousands of signs in national parks saying do not feed the ponies and horses....poor thing hated that boy jumping!

  • i like how the mum just blamed it on the little boy :L

  • Like other people have said, it's the kid bouncing around. It probably annoyed/frightened her.

  • ur showin her shes dominant wen u run away. stand ur ground and wen she charges or somthin charge back. then shell realize ur biger and u wont have that problem again

  • This is probably the most dominant mare in the field. The kids annoying her was making her annoyed.

  • @TheMissPoline THATS WHAT I THOUGH! what ever it is, i dont think its good for horses.

  • @Horselover10HillFarm Horses have a very similar digestive tract to humans and can easily digest most human foods, my gypsy cob once stole my pot noodle off me and ate most of it.

Most horses love chocolate, chips, cake, sweets and sugary things. Obviously don't constantly feed them fatty or junky or sweet foods but it honestly cannot hurt them, my welsh mare's favourite treat is either chocolate or curry flavour crisps, she has also stolen a chicken tikka sandwich from us at a show.

  • As she comes for the food first you can take that's the leading mare. The leading mare keeps everyone in the herd in line and the kid jumping up and down waving his hands is like the red naughty flag to the mare. You see she 'drives him out' with a well aimed kick and walking straight up to him, her ears flat. She's just telling him to get lost until he can behave. The others reacting scared to her makes her even more annoyed XD I loooove ponies.

  • @ponyangel1987 HAHA i believe that is an exact description of what happened in the video. haha

  • @ponyangel1987 - brilliant explanation. Loved it.

  • Ik hoor de aap wel maar zie hem niet xD

  • Hehe we have a colt foal that does that, although he is just over hormonal and has a lack of manners xD

  • you could see that the pony woz anoyed

  • the pony didnt start acting crazy until the kid started jumping around

  • that pony needs to be taught some manners! although i have to admit the boy jumping like an idiot at her backside didnt help any.

  • The pony has been taught the obnoxious and I might add dangerous behavior is perfectly acceptable. This is a demonstration of how ignorant owners re-enforce what is NOT the proper way to act around humans. There are absolutely NO excuses here. I repeat....the owner has allowed this pony to become dangerous and get away with it. Just imagine the consequenses had this been a FULL sized horse weighing 1200 lbs. I shudder to think of the outcome. If continue to question this go see the movie BUCK!

  • Chase that shetland off and don't let him move YOUR Feet!

  • eliot u did do something u were jumping behind his backside!

  • You OVIOUSLY Dont own the horses...Well, god forbid they dont. If They Are Not Your Horses, You Seriously Shouldent feed them. You dont know anything about horses. my friends horse got fed lots of carrots and he twisted his stomach :( ugh people anoy me!

  • The heading on this video says it all: When Shetland Ponies Turn Bad! Instead it should say, " When OWNERS are INCOMPETENT!

  • Your indecent language gives you away as the SPOILED brat whose only way to respond when corrected is to talk about the creature habits. The actions of your SPOILED pony shows YOUR incompetence as the owner and total foolishness on your part. You haven't a clue! You're not qualified to own a goldfish much less a pony. It's not IF but WHEN someone gets hurt by YOUR pony. In your case you can't fix STUPID!

  • He didn't kick because you surrounded him you nitwit. He kicked because he has been taught that is acceptable behavior and idiots like you and your family are going to re-enforce that type of behavior. I wouldn't let you OR your family any where near one of my horses.

  • @harrilurvsponies A forteen year old. I'm twenty three kid. Respect your elders!

  • @harrilurvsponies Simply IGNORE bad behavior and reward the good. They'll learn that they don't get anything for being bad. And I didn't say I didn't care about how much your aunt knows, I said I don't care about her cause I didn't bring her up. And don't call me a two faced bitch, you're the one who did the wrong thing in the first place. Enjoy being reported for harassment.

  • @harrilurvsponies I don't care about your aunt. The point is, HITTING A PONY IS WRONG! No matter WHAT s/he did they don't deserve to get slapped! And who the hell knows what YOU did to make the pony bite you! You probably deserved it you mouthy bitch.

  • @StyleMisser

What you espouse is exactly why pony brats like this exist. This pony has never been taught

respect or to honor boundaries. If this pony pulled this nonsense on another horse in the herd

the consequences would be far worse than a simple human slap. You haven't a CLUE how to discipline

a horse. I wouldn't let you any where near one of my horses WHO incidently are well behaved

    because it is required.

  • @blondenblueeyed1 Funny. I OWN a horse and he doesn't disrespect me. I've NEVER slapped a horse and they respect me perfectly fine. I wouldn't let YOU near MY horse, for the simple reason of you ABUSING him. Go fuck a tree.

  • @StyleMisser im sorry but abusing him? its like a child...a tap on the shoulder to tell them off! Jesus, they have thick skin. itl be like a tap. i do it, and they stop.

  • @WelshCobLover THink and SENSITIVE skin. They can feel a FLY land on them for crist sakes. A slap is TORTURE!

  • @StyleMisser hahaha you realy need to learn dont you. a fly is like tickling on them, and thyehave much thick skin. yes, it is like us having a slap on the backside to do as we are told! Go say shit about things you do KNOW!

  • @WelshCobLover LMAO You think I don't know about horses? Why the hell would I own one if I didn't know about them? I've saved more horses lives than you ever have, clearly by knowledge.

  • @StyleMisser fyi, just because you own horses doesnt mean you know a thing about them.

  • @painthorselover101 LMAO I wouldn't have them if I didn't know about them now would I? Smarten up and get a life.

  • @StyleMisser wow, sensitive much? some people do actually have horses without knowing a thing about them.

also, if you seriously think a horse will get headshy over one little slap on the nose after biting then you are the one who needs to smarten up. one slap to tell them to knock it off wont do any harm at all.

  • @WelshCobLover Ahahahahahahahhahahahha.............so thats why you let that boy bounce around, if you know about horses you clearly should know what they do in situation like that!

  • @StyleMisser Really? A slap is "TORTURE"? You can feel a fly land on you as well, is a slap on the shoulder TORTURE to you?

If you say yes you are either a liar or a complete pansy.

  • @XceptingDeniall Last time I checked, you weren't in this argument, so piss off.

  • Public forum, anyone is welcome. If you don't want people bugging into your arguments you should have them through private messaging.

  • @blondenblueeyed1 The pony isn't being a brat at all and is perfectly behaved until Elliott begins jumping around. When he stops jumping, she returns to a balanced, calm state. What's your basis for saying the animal requires a slap when she's clearly justified in correcting the boy and then ignores his presence once he takes her correction? Just because something doesn't have thumbs doesn't give people the right to act like idiots around them.

  • @harrilurvsponies Funny. A girl at my stable slapped a pony in the nose hard. The pony had to be put down because no one could touch his head for lessons. You may have been around horses for seven years, I've been with them for twenty.

  • @harrilurvsponies So pretty much make them head shy so no one can touch his face at all when they want to halter him or check his teeth for floating or dental checks is fine to you? You clearly know nothing about horses or ponies. And before you say that I don't. I work with horses and know them.

  • @StyleMisser and if you seriously put a horse down because it was headshy then shame on you! i have cured headshy horses before very easily and being headshy is no reason to kill a horse. i highly doubt ONE slap made that horse headshy, she was probably being rough with him when no one was around.

  • @StyleMisser btw, what if these people have to sell that pony eventually? who would want to deal with a pony that whips around and kicks at you out of nowhere? you know where that poor pony will end up? she will end up being sold for $50 to a kill buyer who wont give a shit if she lives or dies.

  • @StyleMisser gently but firmly teaching that pony to respect people will eventually probably save her life. would you rather have her smacked a few times when she kicks/bites or would you rather see her skinned and hanging from a hook in a Canadian/Mexican slaughterhouse?

  • @StyleMisser btw, having an account on Horse Isle doesnt mean you know it all about horses. We're talking real flesh and blood horses here, not computer generated game horses. the two are vastly different.

  • @painthorselover101 LMAO I don't have an account on Horse Isle thank you very much. And Four Your Information, MY horses are real, unlike your knowledge of horses.

  • @StyleMisser i checked out your profile on youtube and you have VIDEOS about your Horse Isle accounts on there and how much you WANT a horse. i actually HAVE horses and have been working around horses since i was 4.

  • @StyleMisser i drove my first draft horse when i was 5 and just this year i successfully trained one of my mini mares to drive in a cart and next year i'm training the mare's sister to go in a cart as well. i have videos on my profile of my horses to back up my story. you, however, dont from what i can see.

  • @harrilurvsponies No, It's because the little boy's jumping, I think, it's not the horse fail.

  • It's the little boy! You can't ever jump around ponies, he spooked him/her. He's lucky he got away fast enough.

  • Don't back of, you should have backed the horse, he was going in your ''bubble'' without permission. Little NH talk. ^^

  • @Str33tification Well said! ^^

  • dont stroke the wild ponies!!! (lol dw i do hahah) he was cute!!! he was like - 'PONY WANT MOOOORE FOOD!! xx =)

  • I've been kicked by a baby Mini when we were trying to teach him that a hose is not going to hurt him, they are small, but it still hurt!

  • Shetlands dont turn bad you spoked him and then he kicked you thats what a horse did to me so get over it "SHETLANDS DONT TURN BAD " YOU SAD PEOPLE !

  • i think hypoactive kids should not be around horses OR ponies, it sets them off easily!

  • The mare is calm and balanced until Elliott started jumping around. She's basically telling him to stop acting like a fool and she's right. Hyperactive kids shouldn't be anywhere around any animals.

  • haha cheeky pony but trust me they can do worse than that once my mate got trampled by 1 lol it hurt

  • Lmfao!

  • its your own stupid fault! so many signs round new forest saying not to do exactly that!

  • Well, that's shetland ponies for ya! You should see them on a BAD day!

  • bless ya all....hilarious

  • was that a wild pony? My sister put her arm around one and it bucked her! It was quite funny though.

  • that is one pushy lil pony

  • thats why u dont give horses tit bits. put it on the floor for him

  • @xhelenaxtx There's nothing wrong with a horse eating from a person's hand as long as that person maintains their composure. It's no more dangerous than giving a dog a biscuit IF it's done correctly and in the proper frame of mind with the understanding that the human is responsible for his/her own safety. Clearly, trying to feed a stallion focused on a mare in heat nearby is a pretty bad idea and it should be common sense, but it's not.
