Aryan Invasion Theory propounded by early British historians of India was a conscious attempt to destroy the national spirit of Indians by claiming that the present Indians are not native to India, just like the British. They then added a racial component to it by claiming that Indus Valley Civilization was 'Dravidian' and the North Indian Aryans expelled them to South India, which is pure imagination. Unfortunately it became a good tool in the hands of Tamil chauvinists such as the DMK party.
