  • I hate when Powell does this...

  • The white guy got 3rd!! Not bad.. for a white guy.

  • @Viganator probably the fastest white guy ive ever seen.

  • Hawked!

  • asafa coulda had this one... he always seems to give up

  • 0:21 I can't let you beat me again like you did in Stockholm. Lol

  • Beautiful stuff.

  • You're right about that. He still has the confidence of knowing that he's unbeaten this year. All I know is if Powell runs to his full capablities, then Bolt is going to have to run faster than 9.88. A jamaican should definitely win the gold though

  • haha the white guy is fasr tho!

  • Very good commentating

  • I hope that the coaches have worked out the problems with Asafa. He is one of our national treasures, but i cant take any more heart breaks from his failures. If he runs his best in Daegu (win or loose), only then will i jump on the bandwagon.

  • @bgee4 If he runs his best in Daegu, he will win the 100m final. If there is any year for him to win an individual gold, this is the one. Bolt is not himself this season, Powell should take advantage of that. I think it will take a low to mid 9.7 to win the final this year and Powell is capable of doing that. Im almost certain that 9.58 won't be broken this year. If powell doesn't get nervous then he wins in daegu.

  • @EPizits You are forgetting one thing-------Bolt is undefeated this season. His talent alone might be all that he needs to pull it off. But, when all is said and done, Jamaica should sweep the finals

  • had that *Gotcha bitch face* @2:21, lmfao

  • is that a white guy in the race??? hell yeaaaa. white dudes in 3rd. fuuuuuck yea. represent.

  • @bhalll1 haha.

I was thinking the same thing, I was like who is that..then when I seen his name I wasn't surprised..dude's fucking fast.

  • @TrickSports Ok you win this round, but i am not getting on that band wagon until he proves himself on the big stage. I still think that he is a choker, but i am hoping that he proves me wrong

  • @bgee4 C'mon man show some respect. Yes you can say Powell has come up short in big races, but you can't deny the talent and the accomplishments. He's had more sub-10 recont 100m sprints than anyone in history. More than Maurice Greene, more than anyone. Besides, if it weren't for Bolt and Gay, the two fastest men in history, Powell would own alot more titles than he does.

  • Christophe puttin France on the map

  • Asafa won make the 100m team for Worlds. He is going to choke at the Ja trials.

  • The young Frenchman looks good, but I still believe Yohan Blake is the future of sprinting.

  • hey that french guy almost beat asafa

  • @mariok64 yeah I see that too .. who is he?? He's NEXT up

  • Asafa lacks speed endurance, he needs to start training for 200 meters.

  • @drebiz1986: Asafa decelerates the most of the top three sprinters. This is why Bolt & Gay are always able to nab him at the end of a race because those two have the best top-end speed bar none. You're correct, Powell does need more speed endurance. But, his coaches should have made him run more quarters, not dueces. Running the 400m teaches the muscles to distribute oxygen more efficiently because lactic acid eventually takes over at about 295m. Having said that, Asafa doesn't mind running ...

  • @drebiz1986 the 200. But all sprinters hate the dreaded 400 because it does hurt. Also, Asafa suffers from his legendary mental breakdowns as well. Look at this race. He knew Usain was coming up on him, but he didn't respond. It's just damned ridiculous to the point where one wants to just bitch slap him. Nevertheless, Powell actually needs strength training. Running 400s would assist that & a foot in his ass to keep him focused mentally.

  • just wait for bolt to get his start down, unless Powell can get back to top form soon we'll be seeing this sort of thing the rest of the year...

  • Bolt will go undefeated this year. This was his first race, like a warm up.

  • The Frenchman does look good. He was right there hanging with the best. He needs to bulk up a little more. But he has a long stride like Bolt and can only get faster.

  • @IOwnYouClown agreed.

    and he's only 21!

  • the young frenchman looks promising.

  • usain bolt will get sharper.

  • track season starting again babe!!!!

  • HA HA HA Bolt is DONE!!!!!!!!

  • Bolt is the best, imagine if he was in shape like he was when he ran an 9.58

  • Tyson Gay would not have beaten Bolt if he was in that race. Bolt knew he was racing Asafa who is a fellow country man and its his first race of the season. If he was racing Tyson Gay his mentality would be TOTALLY different. But I guess the tyson gay fans can dream.

  • @busysignal876 lol, yeah ok

  • @busysignal876 I'm sorry, Tyson Gay would NOT tie up like Asafa Powell did and would have beat the "oh" so fallible Usain Bolt. I'm not an expert in reading body language (except for your mothers) but Bolt actually looked really nervous 70meters in when he noticed he was losing! Wake up and smell the coffee, Bolt either needs to buy some longer legs or is just going to have to settle for 2nd best this year. Tyson is going to whoop dat ass. You heard it here first. . folks!

  • nope asafa got hamstrin problem since the jamaica invitational on the 200m

  • @topv8 due to him getting tight he did lost his form thus slowing down. He froze when he realized that Bolt was coming next to him. u see it everytime he goes against Bolt or GAY

  • If Usain Bolt can get back to where he was, he will be unstoppable.

  • christophe lemaitre the french is definately a young star in 100 metre!

  • @topv8 FINALLY A VERY INTELLIGENT POINT OF VIEW/COMMENT!, I think exactly like you, powell had the race! he finished too close though, no doubt any kind he can do much better... by the way, HES PERFECT/BEAUTIFUL that who in this very tired world cares about those 2-3 seconds between he and bolt, pleaseeeeeeeeeeee!!

  • Wow, I think Justin Gatlin could have kept up with these guys. They need to get him on the circuit ASAP.

  • Asafa Powell had this race why did he slow down in the end? he needs to believe in himself if he wants to win these races

  • Oh...2005, J-Mee Samuels broke NC track record with a 10.08 100m sprint...in high school. 2012 will be the showdown, Bolt vs Gay

  • I like how Mr. PowerSprinter wanted to answer everyone comments. Muscle weight is heavier, so @matrixrange4, it's possible. If someone has a length on them like Bolt, their leg stride is stronger than others, so height matters a bit. The American track runners are trained to start and finish strong which made them perfect. Tyson Gay is a perfect example, he beat Bolt by starting strong and never let up.

  • bolt's start wasn't that bad i don't know what they're talking about, of course it wasn't as good as asafa but he was even with pretty much everyone else, if anything it was a good start considering how tall bolt is..

on another note, asafa did tie up at the end, he had this race in the bag..

and how about that french guy lemaitre? gotta give the man props.

racist or not, it's factual when i state you don't see white guys running the 100 at the world level often

  • @byakuyakuchiki7 Usain had the 3rd slowest start in this race.

  • @HelghastCinema pause at 0:16. considering he's the tallest guy there by far, 3rd slowest out of 9 isn't too bad either

  • @byakuyakuchiki7 the white guy looks short to.

  • I'm excited to see these three with the addition of gay in 2012 >.< Gonna be a show down

  • This is a proud day for Jamaica. I support both athletes. Asafa ran an excellent race but he's only 6' compared to Bolt's who is 6'5". Long legs will always give an advantage. The commentator doesn't know what he's talking about. Powell did not give up.

  • @yomyyout you know notthing about track. Powell is 6 3" not 6. and taller is NOT always better for sprints, it actually hasnt been proven to be better at all. Other than Bolt sprinters are very rarely taller than 6 3. The 4 fastest Americans are at an average of about 5 10 at most

  • is it all that muscle that made him slow down now??

  • 1:57 lol maybe if that dumbass runs without the chain off and not in his face he can run faster.. fail hahahaha

  • @tuscaniman25 Im Jamaican and Usain will be much faster, he has gained a lot of extra muscle for upper body strength. When he really learns how to use them u will see.. lol lol Btw upper body strength is very important for 100m

  • great angles on the shots. bolt betta stawt tek straight cawnaz

  • Wow, I don't think either Glen Mills or Franno are going to be too happy with them. Could Bolt not be fully healed & we just don't know? It seems so strange to see him struggling to run a 9.9, when we've all seen him jog a 9.8.

As for Asafa, every season, I think, maybe this will be the year he gets his head together. The way how Yohan and Nesta are running, one of them might squeeze him out of making the Olympic team. This year he's lucky Jamaica can send 4 to the WC.

  • @stacymala I dont think you realize how amazing it is to run sub 10 like this on an off year as the first race of the year. He prolly hasnt done much of any speed training and still ran 9.91! and you gotta consider the track and conditions, to run sub 10 every race like Bolt does is amazing

  • @PowerSprinter Yeah but for Bolt's standards it's just average considering his world record and what he's run in the past. Also, you can't say he's beyond belief when he runs amazing and then when he runs below par everybody says "oh well its still an impressive time" lol I mean come on. If the man runs a bad race and wins, thats fine but you have to admit he ran a bad race.

Oh yeah and Tyson gay would have smoked both of them. Pft, nough said!

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 that was a bad race, but you have to consider the context. Richard Thompson ran 10.13 and he got 3rd in the olympics! if you are a sprinter you would know what i mean about how you arent peaking for an off year random race like this. But i do agree with your tyson gay statement, lol

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 I highly doubt that if tyson gay wa sin this race Bolt would ahve started the way he did. Lets me realistic here lol!!

  • @busysignal876 I'm going to pretend you had coherent sentences. . . . anyways though, I mean look at Bolt's face 10 meters before the finish line, it looks like he needs some pepto bismol if you ask me. Weird I think I remember that same face though. . . where did i see that face. . . OH yeah!, it was in the race he lost to Tyson Gay in. Weird but I was actually rooting for Asafa Powell in this race, just more technically sound.

Bottom line, Tyson Gay 100m WorldChampion this year!

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 You can dream LMAO!!

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 So you think he would have lost because tyson gay beat him in the off season of track and field. Bolt was NOT taking that race seriously and no SERIOUS track and field fan would. He was in Negril Party that same weekend. But again you tyson gay fans can keep HYPING that up. If tyson gay was in that race his perperation would have been totally different. He would not have lost. But again I cant stop you from DREAMING.

  • @busysignal876 I am not going to debate this back and forth. I will remember your post because when worlds is over, and USAIN BOLT beats tyson gay like he usually dose, your dumbass will disappear.

  • @busysignal876 *does. . . . haha okay troll

  • @busysignal876 Hahahahahaha What's that. . .9.91 again @ the OSTRAVA Golden Spike meet! Whaaaaaat!

    Told you so, punk!

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 Steve Mullings just won tyson gay. How the hell is he suppose to beat BOLT. Thats what you get for running your damn MOUTH!! More to come fool!

  • @busysignal876 "Steve Mullings just won tyson gay"- that sentence doesn't even make sense! If you actually watched the meet you wouldn't be saying anything. It was an overall depressing Diamond League Meet. No spectacular performances. In the 100m Final, they had 3 DQ's and the wind was -3.0+ i think and it was raining. They also tied if you actually watched the race. They both clocked a 10.26. That's an embarassing time for both of them. This meet was a complete let down.

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 Tyson Gay got beat by Steve Mullings..thats the bottom line. They both had the SAME reaction time ....your excuse is lame LMAO!!! How the hell is your boy tyson suppose to deal with bolt if he cant even handle Mullings not to mention Bolt beat plenty of peoples ass in horrible conditions just like THIS. Thats what you get for running your freaking mouth!!

  • @busysignal876 You better hope your boy tyson gets a bronze at worlds, thats what you need to start doing lmao!!

  • @busysignal876 Yo all i'm saying is you need to stop dick riding Bolt and stop fantasizing. Look at the facts. Tyson Gay has the world leading. Eat shit cunt!

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 LMAO...spoken like true american pathetic loser!!

  • @busysignal876 Unless you're from China, my countries better than yours! LMAO your dad should of jacked you off into a tissue. You're a weak excuse for life. On a serious note though, I didn't expect Gay to beat Bolt this season but as of now I haven't seen a race from Bolt that Tyson couldn't match. Also, this race isn't a good indicator of where the athletes are at right now in their training. Be honest with yourself about the conditions at this race. I know college guys who can run 10.26!

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 Whats up with all your comments about men ejaculating..I dont speak to FAGGOTS!!!

  • @busysignal876 Stfu, I'm not going to count this race against tyson because it took over 3 false starts and the WIND was +3.0 haha I'm not saying that it wasn't like that for everyone on the track but if you look @ the times they aren't impressive @ all. No body is going to take this race seriously. Also, Steve Mullings should of won by more than that with the start he had. Gay is clearly going to take down Bolt when all he can run in nice conditions is 9.91 hahah go fuck your mother!

  • @PoliticalMastermind0 You talk to much shit now you have to go on EVERY video of this race and defend yourself LMAO!!! Dumb ass people like you always make an ass of themself.

  • @busysignal876 I'm done with you, cum stain. Have Fun Watching Tyson Gay Embarass Bolt at the World Championships this year.

  • Powell should have won this smh, he started to labor instead of keeping his form.

i wouldnt call this one a freez. His run with Tyson Gay in 2007 was a definate freez.

I've reviewed all the Big races where Powell came up short and he's only froze once and that was vs Tyson in 2007.2004 OLYMPICS, he did not run his own race, basically raw sprinting instead of form sprinting and the same thing in 2008 beijing. When Powell sprints with Form he is one of the best next to Bolt and Above Gay.

  • A few more races under his belt and it will be over for everyone...being stronger this year makes him unbeatable...

  • That white guy has some speed! Fastest guy at my high school was white. He ran 10.2s in high school. I just think not many white guys train for 100m because of the stereotype.

  • @tuscaniman25 i highly doubt that a guy at your HS runs 10.2. and thats beyond ignorant to say that not too many white guys train for the 100 because of some stereotype. just silly comment

  • @baseballman5577

He'll lose later this year when he meets Tyson Gay.

  • he doesnt lose. He gets the shitiest start and still wins. Wow

  • First comment. But a great race. Usain and Asafa are still beast sprinters.

  • WOO
