  • ty!!!!!

  • I have money for a 600$ iPhone 4s but no money for a stylus, lol.

  • @Aw11ccc

    Hahahahhaa

  • That was ghetto

  • @aw11ccc

    So original

  • step 1: cut your finger off

  • Thanks for the vid!

  • you guys, there's a better thing to do. just take a tiny piece of sponge and put it on top of a metal pen. It works waaaaay better than this. OR, if the pen is plastic, coat the entire pen in aluminum foil (or at least the top half) and then stick the bit of sponge on that. It works really, really well.

  • Your own hobbo pen.

  • i have a better tutorial video! it is alot better of a stylus

  • err "Cut", not "cup" lol sorry

  • @MacOSXTutorials Fantastic! I knew the capacitve screens worked with the currents in your finger tips but never knew something easy like this was possible. Quick note if you took a brand new pencil then cup the eraser at a slant you would still have the flat surface but be able to use it tilted like you would a pencil. Great video

  • hey umm instead of tape could i use a hot glue gun

  • 1:00 thats what she said

  • IPOD TOUCH 1G FTW!

  • Rap or Rock xP ... Guys please dont DisLike this comment am very sleeppyy!! xD

  • If anyone took science you would know that glass would scratch aluminum, not aluminun scracthing glass. Fucking idiots

  • @Graffthesystem Broad you are as dumb as rocks.. They'd scratch each other. It's the same concept as sand paper on a diamond. It's still going to "scratch" it.

  • Damn. Dats Ghetto

  • @proximxr according to your hardness scale, by dick is 11/10 on the hardness scale for your mom.

  • Why would I spend a shi* load of money on an iPhone or an iPod touch just to scratch the shi* out of it with a hillbilly stylus that i've made?.. If you're going to spend that much money anyway, why not spend a few extra bucks to get a REAL stylus?..

  • It Works GREAT!!

  • S-C-R-A-C-H : OH SHIT I SHOULD OF BOUGHT A REAL ONE

  • it will scratch the screen but if u have a protector screen then your iphone/ipad's screen should be fine

  • OMG YOUR SO STUPID ONLY SCRATCH DONT YOU HEAR THAT -.- !!!

  • what a shitty video

  • glass may be very hard (6.5) and aluminum may me softer (somewhere around 5) you may think that "no it wont scratch it, stfu" but if a FINGERNAIL can scratch it at 2.5 hardness on the hardness scale, just imagine aluminum.....BUNCHA FUKTARDZ.

  • doesn't even work = =

  • @f235688 i tried on apple iphone and nokia n8

  • u subscribed before watching the video lol ... subing is fun :D

  • you a so dumb the foil scratch the screen

  • Won't the foil scratch the screen?

  • im so not gonna use this idea... but good idea, tho.

  • Awesom

  • Great now you have a retarded ball point pen that looks like shit

  • ...

  • I have aluminum foil! Will that work? Please reply...

  • @Machinama16 Are you restarted. Not to be mean or anything but he kinda just showed us in the video what to do follow his instructions and it most probably will work.

  • @Machinama16 ya there the exact same thing just a different name

    worked for me

  • You could also do this with a pen with a rounded end, works better

  • I found an antenna at radio shack that has a round tip and it's only a dollar

  • on ebay you can get 2 for £1,35. cheap skate.

  • Thanks Alot!!!!it works great!!!:):):)im subing you

  • DOESNT WORKKKK

  • man, that is on ugly ass stylus. You would really have to be in a bind to make that.

  • Thanks dude, I just made myself a double tipped one (one wide and one thinner) And it works great, I'm just working on getting the angle now.

  • lmao, total bullshit, the capacitive touchscreens respond to your conductive finger so then that electricity on your finger travels down through the tin foil and bam.

Anyways i kind of doing see much of a poing if it has to be flat...What if i made a very thin flat surface, would that help make it? Then maybe id be happy...

  • Hella ghetto

  • what a waste! we have fingers for a reason!! just use ur hand! its alot easier than wasting ur time wrapping up a pencil in foil!

  • @MegaRANDOM1231 What if your an artist.... or trying to write something

  • Tape 3 aaa batts. And use flat side...tada! Not so hillbilly

  • You can buy an iPhone to look rich and hip, then carry this thing with it and look like a broke hillbilly.

  • To all: "DONT DO IT IT WILL SCRATCH YOUR SCREEN!"

Iwe just want to sat that it cant scratch your screen because it is bade of really hard glass (Not plastick as someone think) because of this very hard glass it can even substand a razor blade so dont worry u guys it wont scratch your screen. (Same for Ipad)

  • thanks !!!

  • I have ALL these things... except een ipod touch.. SHIT !!!! Expensive DIY....

  • Why do we need an iPod Touch? LOL.

  • scratch scratch scratch

  • tin foil doesn't scratch glass

  • its fucking Helicopter/Scratch Resistant Glass so even if it did Aluminum Foil wont really do it

  • A double or tripple A battery works or some Play-doh works as well

  • it works but:

    a) you have to be touching the foil for it to work (electrons must transfer from your hand, through the foil, to the capacitive display i.e. iPhone/MacBook trackpad)

    b) the foil that I used left a removable silver/gray mark from the foil on the screen. It can be wiped off, but it looks bad and is annoying. Can someone tell me if this is just my foil or if it happens with all brands of foil?

I recommend an app called Autograph for Macbooks.

  • do you really think tin foil would scratch a glass screen even if there were creases on the flat end?

  • This is awesome thank you so much!

  • im gunna probably make that now lol

  • walk around with that

  • 5/5 :D

  • thank u

  • the iphone is designed for use with fingers

why bother with this it is impractical, awkward and really pointless

  • I know some people which have really long fingernails, because they play classical guitar. Using touch devices like the Iphone with a stylus is much easier for them.

  • This could be useful for drawing like doodlebuddy or some other app, but you are right the iphone was made for use with the fingers and i am glad it is that way. ; )

  • I've made this video like last year. lol.

  • Congrats?

  • @theapplefreakk And??

  • Why on earth would you want a stylus for a iPhone?

  • If you're wearing gloves. That's the only reason I can think of.

  • actually, gloves might only work if they are thin.

it needs to be touching skin I think, thats why he covered the whole pen in foil not just the tip.

would a hamsters nose work? I could keep one of those(not just the nose) in my pocket next time I go snowboarding.. cause my gloves are kinda think.

  • It would come in handy when using the app SketchBook.

  • or skitch

  • what about a point tip? This makes writing much more intuitive.

  • The tip doesnt work, it has to be a flat surface.

  • A pity then. I believe this method is a nice discovery, but a flat surface is not practical. Thanky you for your reply.

  • @MacOSXTutorials12 or rounded the official styli have rounded tips

  • just use a screen protector! Thanks to the owner of this vid! i have done it! very easy!

  • School supplies== tech lol

  • very kool n cheap stylus =) very creative btw

  • sweet man

  • I prefer my fingers personally, but still cool

  • AMAZING!!!!!

  • Cant you scratch the screen with the corners? and its almost inpossible not to bend the edges

  • Thats why you use something thats flat because if you move flat tin foil over the screen it wont scratch. If you move it on an edge it will.

  • @MacOSXTutorials12 somthing you could do to fix that is rub it on the table on the edges to grind it out and flatten the edges (yea i know i am a year late its my job ^_^ )

  • I prefer to use sand paper over tin foil.

  • Go out and buy a actual stylus for a phone and then do what he did, so you wont have to carry a big pen around

  • itouchipodz already made this video

  • He did? I wasn't aware, but thanks for telling me.

  • Ya, I take it you saw this DIY Stylus on a website? Im not saayin you copied him or anythin man, im just lettin you knnow

  • Nice matt! I'll try this. But will it scratch my screen?

  • Nope

  • would this not scratch the iphone??

  • nope. i tried it

  • i have all the tools going to try it

  • Awesome video! Imma try it!

  • Or you could just use a pencil..

  • no you can't... because a pencil does not conduct electricity so thats why he puts the foil at the end. The iphones screen works because a transfer of electrons from say your hand or metal and a pencil isen't metal...

  • Which is why I always use a pencil when I'm in class? Apparently, you're wrong.

In the end though, you could even use a DS or some other phone/touchscreen pen, because i doubt anyone would want to use that huge pencil wrapped in foil, in public. Plus, I would think after a while, the foil would start to scratch the screen.

  • Capacitive Touch screens (used in iPhone, and Touch) require the transfer of electrons in order to work. A stylus from a DS would not work because the DS uses a Resistive touch screen, which can be used by anything (the plastic stylus)

  • @trybalbutterflies like most folk on youtube, you have NO idea what you are talking about, an iphone or ipod touch or nokia x6, has a capacitive touch screen, not a pressure touch screen,so you need something that earths to your skin...like metal..it has to conduct electricity...

  • awesome

  • cool...im gona try that!

  • Great video!!!!

  • wow cant believe that works. nice job matt
