There aren't many games that use it (only ones i can think now are ff VIII, ridge racer and crash bandicoot)

Well there was all that flack about the guy who pretty much invented the Wii-mote.
The fishing controllers DOES work on the Virtua Tennis as shown by the Gagaman(n) *Dreamcastjunkyard
I think it was just a good controller.
Sega would have promoted it more if it was planned out.

It just seems odd that theres specific things to each game it can do, like it's been secretly coded for another pherperial that was never released.
Kinda like a lot of PS1 games had analogue control compatible a good year before the analogue pad was released. that and that PS1 VMU rip-off thing.
