Being a Euphonium player... I give props to the soloist here. He did an awesome job! Beautiful piece, you guys sound great! This was by far my favorite piece in High School.
Anyone else think that there's no way you can get sound quality like this from inside the band? You'd hear one section far clearer than the rest. Methinks this is dubbed from a professional recording.
Good ears... The audio was, in fact, captured through professional microphones on top of that large mic pole stationed in front of the ensemble. Other than synchronizing the video to the concert CD, there wasn't any editing or dubbing involved. Thank you for listening. (-:
@TVUsedToBeGood Yeah! That's true. I played this song in band, and I'm used to hearing much more of the brass section. Actually, I could rarely hear the flutes at all.
Argyll and Bute Schools Concert Bands has played this. It is made up kids aged 11-17 i think but i can say it was amazing although the Blacksmith song was interesting but we got there in the end
I gave this song 5 stars... the only thing I have to say is the euphonium player needs to hold the phrases out during the solo to make it sound less choppy and a little more smooth... but besides that it sounded pretty good
The only thing I have to say is that the euphonium player needs to stop playing this song and start playing the shire theme from the Lord of the Rings--it's practically the same chord progression. I can't believe Holst travelled into the future and stole the theme from Howard Shore! What a jerk!
