Viability went out the window when they began aborting babies in the last trimester - a time when premature births often can be saved. It isn't about viability. It's about our desire to choose what life is valuable and what isn't. A dangerous road.
scoobyful is right. choice must never be outlawed. besides if they want to outlaw abortion so bad these anti-choice people ought to set up a foundation that, for starters, assures these unwanted children college education. i like adoption but these anti-choice looking campaigns for adoption must be part of some plan to delegate all sorts of social services to ordinary people instead of it being funded by the government. has anyone thought that these rich people might have adopted for tax cuts?
@benedicvelascomusic Anti-choice. Hmm. Let's see, you all want the orgasm (THAT'S your 'choice') with out the consequence of a new human life with an IMMORTAL (never ending) soul that may come with it. Seems like pro-selfishness to me. Or pro-irresponsibility maybe. Either way you cut it, it's the most unloving, selfcentered decision that truly kills another, and harms yourself. I pray the veil is lifted from your the deceit that surrounds and clouds your reason.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Imagine the potential? This anti-choice argument is stupid. The whole "What if that fetus grew up to be the president?" Well, what if that fetus grew up to be the next rapist, killer,a robber,a child molester? The likelyhood of a fetus growing up to be those things (robber, etc) is much higher than the likelyhood of a fetus growing up the be the president. To everyone who goes around screaming "ADOPTION, ADOPTION!",did you ever stop to think that adoption ISN'T a solution to an unwanted pregnancy?
@Scoooobyful A) EVERY ONE is wanted by SOME one. To start, the Creator hold that opinion by allowing existence. B) There are solutions that involve not scarring, destroying and ruining a woman's body, mind and soul. C) To rip a small person apart with a knife, vacuum and curette is inhumane, and we don't even allow half the abuse on animals. We feel pain at 8 weeks in utero. The average abortion takes place at 10wks. The heart beats at 4 weeks. There is...no...justification...for...abortion.
Respond to this video... Another thing, you may want to to consider getting help for that negative attitude of yours. You stated all horrible things as a human with potential can be. Did you see the video?! And their mothers hearts are gold for the tough choice they made, but love is sacrifice. You do NOT kill someone else because YOU find them inconvenient. You sure wanted the orgasm though, right?
PLEASE tell me that these Catholics referred to the song "Imagine" only to be ironic. And I'm a Beatles fan, but John Lennon was not a "revolutionary" or an "innovator" by any stretch of the imagination; it takes NOTHING to spit out hedonistic fantasies and call them profound.
Adoption is a beautiful thing. I plan on adopting children in the future. There is absolutely no reason to kill an unborn child when adoption is an option!
@PureInertia i guess if you think it is OK to kill children. You do know that abortion is available through ALL NINE MONTHS IN THE USA? IT IS. But if you think it is ok to murder a child conceived 9 months ago whatever......kinda tells us all a little about yourself and your views.
@PureInertia from the moment of conception UNIQUE DNA is created. 21 days from conception there is a audible heartbeat. At nine weeks from conception a fetus (fetus means 'little one' in Latin) is able to suck his/her thumb. Pro choice is about the right to kill children. One can be pro choice about rape as well. They could say well 'I would not rape someone, but certainly we should not take the rights away from another person'. Equally someone could be pro choice for slavery.
@prolifebuttonsDOTcom I'm not really interested in the meanings of Latin words, nor am I interested in unique DNA, which even sheep and chicken have, I am neither interested in heart beats, which even snakes have. All I asked was when the sperm and the egg become a child. When does it become wrong to kill? Keeping in mind that just ejaculation alone kills millions of other sperm.
@PureInertia From the moment of conception A new life is formed. Is a one year old the same as a teen? Is a teen the same as an adult? No, but they are all life. Think about women that have miscarriages. Why are they sad by the miscarriage? Why do they call women that are pregnant 'with child'. When someone says they are 'expecting' what are they 'expecting'?
@prolifebuttonsDOTcom You can't appeal to emotions as an argument, nor can you appeal to idiom. These are very simple rules of logic, the fact that you don't know them is disappointing.
I'm not interested in the words that people use nor what they feel, I just want to know when the sperm and ovum become a child. You claim it does at conception, please tell me why? Sperm and Eggs have their own unique DNA already, why does it become a child at conception?
@PureInertia Can you tell me when one becomes an adult? Because surely we must all become adults at some point (i am not speaking of acting like one either) we become adults (unless of course something interfers with that ie murder, accident, etc)
@prolifebuttonsDOTcom Dictionary online defines adult it in 6 ways, but only 2 apply here:
1. a person who has attained the age of maturity as specified by law.
2. a person who is fully grown or developed or of age.
Number 1, depends on the law of the country in particular.
Number 2, is different, there is no single instance where a person becomes an adult it's a gradual transition. There is also a period of time where a person is not an adult at all.
@PureInertia Technically the don't have their unique DNA. I think they are called haploids? So half the full set. But once they come together, then they have their own Unique DNA. In other words: A new life.
@wolski888 As a matter of fact, due to mutation, every individual haploid has it's own unique DNA. When two gametes combine and form somatic cells. The DNA only changes a little bit more. Keep in mind that chimpanzees have DNA which is more than 98% identical to our own. So how similar is the DNA of your own child?
imagine a world free of third world mud races. a place where all white men of every fine species could live the way nature intended the finest race of men to enjoy its fruits.
@PureInertia I don't think you get the point of this video; which is, if these children hadn't been given life, and adopted, we would not have the benefits of the art, science and skills of these particular people. It's not that ALL adopted children are heroes and prodigies.
I don't get your point, “the same could be about drugged up kids killing each other…”. So what?
@JMRNH I get the point of the video, but it's a bad argument if it's being applied to the pro-life debate. Adoption will always exist, whether people have abortions or not. Furthermore even if you didn't abort your child hoping it would be adopted and it is adopted it has absolutely no effect on whether the child will lead a good or bad life, nor that he won't end up in an abusive home that will lead to him becoming a degenerate non-productive member of society. The ad ignores this.
@PureInertia It is a bad argument if you use it to say that this is the only reason abortion is wrong, because a person could just as easily grow up good as they could bad. In terms of an answer to the typical abortion apologist's lay about fewer people "suffering" because they are alive rather than aborted, then it's a good answer to that. But you are right that this isn't the reason abortion is wrong. It's wrong because it kills an innocent human being.
@kelincihutan It's a bad argument period. You can't assume that the child will be adopted, happy or even put up for adoption. Adoption is not the answer to suffering, nor is it an argument against abortion. There are far more children waiting to be adopted than there are being adopted, this advertisement calls for those children's numbers to be increased.
As for killing an innocent human being, you have to first ask yourself why killing innocent human beings is wrong, before I can continue this.
@PureInertia First off, the foster system is not the only venue for adoptions. Most private adoption agencies are not just good at placing children, they are *excellent* at doing so. Second, if the choice is between a dead child and a child who grows up without being adopted, then we should most certainly let them live.
As for why killing innocent human beings being wrong, barring a threat to someone's life, why wouldn't it be?
@kelincihutan According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, the amount of children in care is roughly 8 times higher than children that are being adopted per year.
Children in foster care have higher rates of suicide, mortality and physical/sexual abuse and nearly half become homeless at 18.
Lastly, you should realise that you made the claim that taking an innocent life is wrong. I want to tell you why abortion is different, but first I need to know why it's wrong to take a life.
@PureInertia Like I said, foster care is not the only adoption service in the world. Or the US. Even if it were, are you really saying people are better off dead than alive with a chance for things to get better?
And yes, I do claim that taking an innocent human life is wrong, and I don't think that's a sensational claim. Do you disagree with it? *That* would require some fierce philosophical justification, TBH. And no, abortion is not different. It kills innocent human beings.
@kelincihutan Whether or not Foster care is the only adoption service, the fact remains that a lot of children end up there. Your approach calls to increase those numbers.
Having an unwanted life sexually/physically abused and then, if they escape being killed or committing suicide, becoming a homeless unproductive member of society, so you can feel better about what you did isn't right.
You claim that taking an innocent life is wrong. All I'm asking is why? I suspect you do not know the reason.
@PureInertia Your approach calls for killing people before they can tell you whether or not they'd prefer to be alive. You also say that kids in foster care will probably be abused, barely escape death, and then end up homeless! That's a wild assumption, and is very judgmental.
And, yes, I know why. If anyone has any rights, then killing innocent people must be wrong. If you disagree, you are probably an anarchist, nihilist, or sociopath. That you take issue with this point is...worrying.
@kelincihutan One-third of foster youth become homeless within two years of leaving the system. The Covenant House of California says half of foster youth become homeless in six months. Not an assumption...
You're saying we should let them endure so much pain to make them choose to end their own lives because you want to feel good about doing what you think is right while they suffer?
"If anyone has rights" is a condition not a reason. I see, you don't know why it's wrong. Why do we have rights?
@PureInertia No, if you agree we have rights, and you must since you say suffering is "wrong," then you must agree killing innocent human beings is wrong. If not, then suffering doesn't matter. Why do you think suffering is "bad?"
It doesn't matter what philosophy you hold. Chase it down far enough and it will sound arbitrary. I will not play that game with you. Especially since you're practically saying we should murder everyone in foster care because they must all be too miserable to live.
@kelincihutan To make myself clear I am not saying that killing or suffering is "good". On the other hand, you made a claim, I simply wanted to know if you knew why killing innocent people was "wrong", but you have made it abundantly clear that you have no idea why it is wrong and you only chant the phrase because you believe people will not disagree with it. You have not told my why it's wrong, You are not interested in the merit of reason. If you don't know something so simple, don't debate me
@PureInertia I explained why killing innocent people is wrong; it's a violation of their rights. You want to know why people have rights, except that, you are pro-choice. You already believe they do. There is no "right to abortion" if there are no "rights."
Any thinking person could recognize that we have the necessary common ground to debate the central question: is abortion moral? You are chose to play games. But, you're right that I won't debate you. You're an idiot.
@PureInertia No, you were trying to get me to invoke God, so that you could mock me for my faith (if I have it). I have seen that strategy before.
You are childish. You ask "Why's that?" over and over, like a 5-year-old, rather than accept we agree enough to debate the central issue. You agree people have value, or suffering wouldn't be bad, but avoid openings to discuss what that means. You have learned to sound impressive, but not to speak with meaning. I won't reply to you again. Good day.
@kelincihutan Whoah! What is this talk about strategies and god!? Paranoid much? That wasn't my intention at all.
You've made it apparent that you have a reason why killing innocent people is bad, but you're too ashamed of it to tell me.
You made the claim that abortion is wrong because it kills an innocent life. I was trying to debate that with you, but I can't even begin if you don't know why killing innocent people is wrong. Again, if you don't know the answer, don't debate me.
@Exilitas You mean the one's done to save the mother's life given the situation that birth is a high risk to either the baby or the mother's life? Or the ones done without such risks?
@kelincihutan 40 million people being killed is a little past the point of wrong, it's sickening. You are a survivor of this holocaust as is any of who are living. Someone who could have been really important to you could have been killed. For me, I'm thinking, is my future husband dead? It's a sad story. I believe in women's rights, as well as men's. So, why don't those men and women being aborted have rights? Our society has the mindset that the bigger power can dominate the little nd innocent
@jamz3productions zygotes are not men or women lol. They don't have minds or opinions, wants or needs. Billions of gametes die out each day, they were also potential humans, why not call masturbation genocide too then? We needn't go as far as masturbation to achieve this holocaust. During sex alone, millions of sperm race towards few ovum (very often no ovum) and in that pursuit millions die. This is a genocide that nature herself defined. Why are you not concerned by this too?
@PureInertia Dear Misguided: a zygote does already have cells that are specified to the gender. Sorry, your argument fails. Time just needs to elapse so they can develop. And we judge worth by minds that can "want or need?" Why then shouldn't we be able to kill a new born?! A fetus at 7 weeks sucks his/her thumb. Feels pain at 8 wks. Farts at 10wks. Educate yourself. Why not consider sperm dying genocide? ITS NATURAL! We are not slaughtering any one. Natural selection, design. GOD.
@jacrn323 Man and woman isn't the same as male or female. Zygotes are not men or women. We don't kill newborns because they are no longer viable, it no longer requires another body to survive. While the fetus requires a human vessel to live, it is the choice of the host whether she wants subject her bodily integrity and life to the continuation of another. You can't force someone to risk those things for someone else.
@jamz3productions Any person living in the United States who was born after 1973. Of which I am one, so yes. I'm fortunate to be alive. I agree with you in the main. However, it's usually best to enter into a debate with "wrong" rather than "sickening." Abortion is most definitely sickening, but that's a word that's just going to set people's backs up, and won't very likely win anyone over to the side of life.
@jamz3productions Don't forget to include the chemical abortions by the birth control pill which brings the death toll up to approximately 5000 people per day, wiped out. Genocide. And out lovely president seeks to mandate it! Wake up America. We are killing ourselves!
So what?
This makes no difference who is "pro-life" and who is "pro-choice". The facts remain that human beings can make the fundamental choices of reproduction for themselves. If you're against this vital component of life itself, you are outdated, outnumbered and out of your element.
@ngink Not of those choices kill another human being. That is the nature of rights, my rights end where yours begin. Outdated? Truth doesn't change. Outnumbered? 51% of Americans now classify themselves as pro-life. Out of my element? Truth and protection of the innocent are my element, and I'm certaintly in my element.
@Exilitas Truth is relative. The numbers of people believing in freedom and safe access to birth control of all manners is rising. 51% of those people are sects of the elder generations, who's systemic needs have destroyed countless aspects of not only other cultures, but parts of our earth itself. Like you said, truth doesn't change. You would have it that abortion does not exist? And you think that won't hurt women, children and our culture? Get real.
@ngink You contradicted yourself in a most serious manner. You said "Truth is relative" and then, later on, "Like you said, truth doesn't change" (agreeing with my statement. The elder generation is not, in fact, the most pro-life generation. Many pro-life youth groups are popping up all over the world, with a fire and passion even more ardent then the elder generations. I am real, and reality (with all the facts) leads to the truth that abortion is immoral, and does great harm to all of society
@Exilitas Hey maybe since you're a catholic you can just "forgive" me for contradicting myself. Then maybe you can "forgive" people for making choices in their life and not listening to the ideologies of the grossly dwindling numbers of Catholics everywhere. Then maybe just "forgive" yourself and go figure out how to live in a world wherein abortion is safe and legal.
@ngink Forgive you for contradicting yourself...that is a rather absurd notion. I cannot simply accept an argument that defeats itself. I can forgive people for making dreadful errors, but that doesn't mean I think killing a human should be legal. As for abortion ever being safe, that is not possible. Abortion is by nature killing...and unless I am quite wrong, killing is not "safe" and never can be
So, enough pointless banter on our part, lets get to the facts. When do you think life begins?
@Exilitas Whoa whoa whoa, who said anything about killing? You asked me when life begins. I told you it's when you become independent. You dragged killing into this!!
@Exilitas When the mommy and the daddy think of having a baby, it becomes human. So when people change their mind about child birth or simply decide to not have a child they are pretty much aborting their future children. It's a ghastly concept! Everyone should have children and bask in the infinite glories so that one day they may grow up to be the next Henry Kissinger, or Pope John Paul the Second.
@Exilitas Yeah, jews who were persecuted by people like you who choose to impose their will on the masses. Get your head out of your ass and stop throwing around World War Two history as a comparison for your problems with history marching forward. I know many Jewish people who would find what you said appalling. Go back to your church inundated with pedophile priests and dated ideology. Get fucked and burn in a car crash. The world would do better without you.
@ngink its funny how you think all catholics are like that. your not catholic so dont say that were anti semestic or racist. there are good catholics like mother teresa and pope john paul II and then there are bad catholics such as nancy pelosi and joe biden. and besides we didnt persecutre the jews PROTOSTANTS did.
@jawsfan95 Who cares what you think? Go back to standing outside of an abortion clinic with a picture of a rotting fetus so I can i walk past you and throw a cup of slurrpee from 7-11 at you.
@ngink i dont want to have a comment fight with you. and speaking of abortion clinics go inside of one to see how abortions are really done. i dare you.
@jawsfan95 Newsflash idiot: Abortion is going to happen whether you like it or not. Maybe you should worry about the Catholic Priests molesting HUNDREDS of children before sticking your nose in someone else's reproductive choices. In my town a Priest is being charged with molesting COUNTLESS kids. You know what? I went to that church, that CATHOLIC church growing up. Oh sure we can't have women mak choices for their lives! Yet the church covers up the molestation of sexually abused kids. IDIOTS.
@ngink child molestation is wrong. your right it has to be stopped. it was a mistake of the church to not arrest the preists. but now in the us priests are now trying to find a way to stop it. and about abortion being legal, so was slavery. wasnt that once legal? because it was legal does that mean it was right? of coarse not. same with abortion. i say lets stop both child molesting and abortion.
@jawsfan95 Slavery was legal, it became illegal. Abortion at one time was illegal and now it is legal. Those are diametrically opposite beliefs. Look no one is saying adoption is a bad idea, it's a CHOICE to put a child up for adoption right? Oh and this crazy Freedom of Speech thing says I can make fun of your religion all I want.
@ngink why dont you make fun of jews, muslims, and african americans as well? why do you just attack on catholics? because you dont have the balls. you just attack catholics. i bet you cant make fun of another race or religion in your next comment box. i can take a joke. but your comments do not look like jokes to me.
@ngink this debate is so dumb. especially the things your saying. i like debating about things like this as much as the next guy but your not challanging enough to debate with. lets both enjoy this great video and agree that roe v wade was a mistake. adoption instead of abortion!
@ngink Actually, the demographic of 18-29-year-olds is about 60% pro-life, so...no. It's not just old people.
That by itself doesn't make abortion wrong, it's true, but trying to relegate the numbers as unimportant... Yeah, actually, do that. Ignore the pro-lifers, pretend like we're not there, and aren't gaining any ground, and it is just old people. Just...stay comfortable. :)
@kelincihutan Wow that's interesting? 60%? Wow...so what part of the world do you live in? Retardland?
I live in the best country in the world, called "Canada".Here's an interesting fact about us:
"49% believe abortion should be legal under any circumstances...42% of respondents want the procedure to be legal only under certain circumstances, while 5% would outlaw abortion altogether."
So wherever you are has a lot of catching up to do.
@SuzannahKE Out of curiousity, for the "special case" of abortion for rape victims... why punish a beautiful baby for their father's sins? Just something to keep in mind: abortion does NOT help women, even in cases of rape.
Fabulous ad, gr8 work! I believe the biggest crime is allowing urself to become pregnant & then neglecting the responsibility you are solely responsible for! [obviously there r special cases eg rape victims] Why punish a beautiful baby for your own sin?? Moral = keep ur undies on & protect the unborn!!!!
@SuzannahKE Out of curiousity, for the "special case" of abortion for rape victims... why punish a beautiful baby for their father's sins? Just something to keep in mind: abortion does NOT help women, even in cases of rape.
@RenokerQ You know RenokerQ, that is a great question & I totally agree with you. However, it is such a heavy question that I feel for both victims [mother & child]. After having my own child, what a treasure to have & how aweful to imagine so many innocent children were denied such a right to live. Yet, for the mother, those 9months can be just as devastating psychologically. Don't you suppose suicide would be an option?? ultimately it will kill both..
@SuzannahKE I have a friend who was raped, and got an abortion. She attempted suicide afterwards BECAUSE of the abortion, I still have the suicide note she wrote me. We have to support the mother and the child, and give the mother support, encouragment, and true compassion. An abortion may seem to "help" the mother, but in the long run, it will be even more devestating to her. This is my favorite slogan that describes abortion-- Abortion: one heart stops, another breaks.
This is an amazing commercial, poignant. Everyone deserves a chance at life, period. And no one should have the right to take that away. Great commercial.
I'm adopted and I love this clip. I don't like it however, when people call others murderers for having an abortion or just supporting it. I don't know what should happen legally, but I think everyone should try and save as much life as possible. There is so much potential out there, more than anyone will ever know =P
Amazing video, very powerful, keep it up. this is really helping to wake people up. So many families are waiting to adopt a child and would love to have one yet our society throws the lives away, I don't know how anyone can defend that practice of destruction.
I'm definitely pro-choice, but I really respect and appreciate this ad. It makes a strong point without blaming the women and girls who have to make such a difficult decision.
I hope the one with Tim Tebow this Sunday will be just as tasteful.
No but they should blame them they are responsible for their decisions to kill what is theirs, But I do feel sorry for those young ones coursed into it by parents or boyfriends though...
I hope you feel allot better about yourself and your hideous rationalizations for Abortion by admitting this ad is true and beautiful. You "definitely" support slaying live unborn children in the most gruesome of ways, good for you. But just how can you justify this horrifying practice, especially in later trimesters as it is so often done, when ADOPTION is such a clear and obvious morally acceptable alternative. Wake up about your erroneous liberal femi-nazi beliefs and get on the right path!
I'm pro-choice and I think this is a damn good ad. It sickens me how many people use abortion as an everyday form of birth control, rather as the last-resort procedure it's intended to be.
I agree. Me and my non biological brother were adopted and I am thankful for that. And your right it doesn't matter what side of the fence your on with this subject there is nothing wrong with saying consider adoption.
yes i do, well it depends, if ur parents were underaged then yes because u'd live in a low standard way with unhappiness whichu have no right to, but if they were rich or middle class or adults then no u should not have been aborted ASS HOLE
1st. what does money have to do with anything? studies have proven as long as basic needs are met, income level has no effect on happiness.
2. Your stereotyping, some "underaged" people can take care of children just fine, yes it makes it a struggle but its possible, also like the video says adoption is an option much greater than abortion.
last isn't living even if unhappy a lot through childhood better than no life at all?
so if some one has a monthly income of lesss than 1000 dollars, they r capable of raising a dam child? Think before u answer, of course its possible, but the shit the child will go through deos it really deserve that shit? Most underaged people dont earn a decent # of dollars to raise a kid, and u know that too, as for the last comment, its ur own preference, no life at all just maybe could be better. The answer will change depending on who u r?
I don't mean to be rude but did you watch the video? Its about the option of adoption. If a parent is not capable of raising a child they have options. A child should at least have the right to live, then its their choice to break the chain and work to a better life or to give up and live miserably. Lifes longer than childhood and i dont see your theory covering that. I am strongly pro-life and see that i will only anger you so I do apologize but some issues you can't be silent about.
naw i ain't angry, i love a good debate, heres the thing abuot adoption, it works, it saves numerous kids and brings out prodigies, and i agree that tis better than abortion, or i did, until i discovered the truth about adoption agencies. I'm Indian so i might have a bias on this but lots of adoption agencies are corrupt, they utilize kids fro labor and crap, and i prefer the kid just die rather than spend time in an adoption house
u can also look at it economically, the world has too much people, we dont got enough resources too suffice much more. If abortion is wrong isn't masturbaiton wrong?, isn't washing ur hands wrong (u kills 1000's of skin cells) so much more is wrong if abortion is wrong,
Alright, I have no idea what you know about these adoption agencies so i can't argue that point besides that i firmly believe having a chance is better than never having any chance at all.
I agree, over-population is an issue but at least the people that will die from a lack of resources had at least a taste of life. I guess its all opinionated here. umm also i dont see the realivance of masturbation or washing hands as thats cells and not peopple or organisms of any kind.
lil research my friend, cells are living things, so are sperm, and sperm has potential to become a human. Thats where our buffer zone is, u believe that a chance is better than nothing at all. I believe not. Heres a new point to argue, the whole rapist's victim, does a girl who gets pregnant through rape have a right to give birth to the baby? Think of all my rebuttals before answering.
Cells are not human, that is what I am interested in protecting. Sperm does have potential but you make 1000 sperm per second so i dont think that is an issue. Rape can only be opinionate. I believe the child should still be born but I can understand others opinions on something as emotionally shaking as that. I have spoken with rape victims both who have conceived and aborted, the one that conceived was glad she did and the one who aborted found the whole process tragic and now regrets it.
Also another reasoning for my reasoning, i don't see murder of an innocent being excused by anything, I understand its hard but troubled emotions is not a reason to murder
cells r also innoccent living things, why kill them when washing ur hands, ur own human cells. same thing with sperm, nothing excuses the klling of innocent living beings;)
"human cells and human sperm" they r apart of our human body, thats not even the point i'm making.. They r still lving beings, regardless of the fact that they have no potential or feelings (or do they...).
??? I don't see your point, yes they are alive, I agree, but so are plants and animals which people eat, that does not matter, I'm not trying to protect cells or sperm or plants, only the full humans
well we cant argure the full human saving, cuz our beliefs differ on that, and i'm vegetarian btw. U said a comment abuot the murder of an innocent being unexcusable, human cells & human sperms r alive, and they r murdered. that was my point, hope it is now clear
Cells are alive, yes, but your own cells are not separate beings, no. You, however, are a separate being from me. Killing you would be a vastly different thing from killing some of your cells, for instance.
The point of reproduction is that it results in a separate being, distinct from the parent(s) that spawned it. Somatic cells and gametes are part of you...they're *your* cells. A baby is not...it has its own cells and placenta :)
@sailingonwaves Dude, I was adopted as well. I recognize the difference between a pro-choice stance, and abortion. I'm not for abortion, but it's not my choice what someone in some other state, who I've never met does.
And a government that says we MUST have children is the just as bad as a government that says we CANNOT have children.
Disagree totally. The individual who can engage in a life bringing act (sex) and not have to live up to the repercussions, are individuals that would continually lower the moral standard of society. Despite being religious or secular, this moral standard is a must if we as a human race want to progress to a more disciplined race.
because it makes it clear where people stand. There is evil and hatred in the world. We have to deal with it. We are tasked with loving god and our neighbor and never forgetting there is always hope that even the vilest individual will turn towards faith.
You know people Im pro-choice and in order to put this stupid debate to rest I would be willing to compromise to allow the states to decide to be pro-choice or pro-life individually. If you are against that proposal then there is no reasoning with you.
I've had friends who almost were aborted, they are not "the next generation of evil people", they are wonderful people- lots of whom are in the pro-life movment.
Wow...this is incredible powerful for me, cause I'm adopted. I've always found it hard to be adopted, not knowing who your parents are, but it's amazing seeing all these famous men and women are just like me. It really makes me feel connected and less...strange, I guess. Great commercial!

Viability went out the window when they began aborting babies in the last trimester - a time when premature births often can be saved. It isn't about viability. It's about our desire to choose what life is valuable and what isn't. A dangerous road.

scoobyful is right. choice must never be outlawed. besides if they want to outlaw abortion so bad these anti-choice people ought to set up a foundation that, for starters, assures these unwanted children college education. i like adoption but these anti-choice looking campaigns for adoption must be part of some plan to delegate all sorts of social services to ordinary people instead of it being funded by the government. has anyone thought that these rich people might have adopted for tax cuts?
benedicvelascomusic 6 months ago
@benedicvelascomusic Anti-choice. Hmm. Let's see, you all want the orgasm (THAT'S your 'choice') with out the consequence of a new human life with an IMMORTAL (never ending) soul that may come with it. Seems like pro-selfishness to me. Or pro-irresponsibility maybe. Either way you cut it, it's the most unloving, selfcentered decision that truly kills another, and harms yourself. I pray the veil is lifted from your the deceit that surrounds and clouds your reason.

Scoooobyful 6 months ago

@PureInertia i guess if you think it is OK to kill children. You do know that abortion is available through ALL NINE MONTHS IN THE USA? IT IS. But if you think it is ok to murder a child conceived 9 months ago whatever......kinda tells us all a little about yourself and your views.
prolifebuttonsDOTcom 1 year ago
@prolifebuttonsDOTcom When does the sperm and the egg become a child during those nine months?
I never said anything about killing children.
PureInertia 1 year ago

PureInertia 1 year ago
@PureInertia From the moment of conception A new life is formed. Is a one year old the same as a teen? Is a teen the same as an adult? No, but they are all life. Think about women that have miscarriages. Why are they sad by the miscarriage? Why do they call women that are pregnant 'with child'. When someone says they are 'expecting' what are they 'expecting'?
prolifebuttonsDOTcom 1 year ago
@prolifebuttonsDOTcom You can't appeal to emotions as an argument, nor can you appeal to idiom. These are very simple rules of logic, the fact that you don't know them is disappointing.
I'm not interested in the words that people use nor what they feel, I just want to know when the sperm and ovum become a child. You claim it does at conception, please tell me why? Sperm and Eggs have their own unique DNA already, why does it become a child at conception?
PureInertia 1 year ago

Satisfied? Now please answer my question.

@PureInertia Technically the don't have their unique DNA. I think they are called haploids? So half the full set. But once they come together, then they have their own Unique DNA. In other words: A new life.
wolski888 10 months ago
@wolski888 As a matter of fact, due to mutation, every individual haploid has it's own unique DNA. When two gametes combine and form somatic cells. The DNA only changes a little bit more. Keep in mind that chimpanzees have DNA which is more than 98% identical to our own. So how similar is the DNA of your own child?

Nice ad, but the same could be said about drugged up kids killing each other over meth on the street corner. It's selective thinking.
PureInertia 1 year ago
@PureInertia I don't think you get the point of this video; which is, if these children hadn't been given life, and adopted, we would not have the benefits of the art, science and skills of these particular people. It's not that ALL adopted children are heroes and prodigies.
I don't get your point, “the same could be about drugged up kids killing each other…”. So what?
JMRNH 1 year ago
@JMRNH I get the point of the video, but it's a bad argument if it's being applied to the pro-life debate. Adoption will always exist, whether people have abortions or not. Furthermore even if you didn't abort your child hoping it would be adopted and it is adopted it has absolutely no effect on whether the child will lead a good or bad life, nor that he won't end up in an abusive home that will lead to him becoming a degenerate non-productive member of society. The ad ignores this.
PureInertia 1 year ago
@PureInertia It is a bad argument if you use it to say that this is the only reason abortion is wrong, because a person could just as easily grow up good as they could bad. In terms of an answer to the typical abortion apologist's lay about fewer people "suffering" because they are alive rather than aborted, then it's a good answer to that. But you are right that this isn't the reason abortion is wrong. It's wrong because it kills an innocent human being.
kelincihutan 1 year ago
@kelincihutan It's a bad argument period. You can't assume that the child will be adopted, happy or even put up for adoption. Adoption is not the answer to suffering, nor is it an argument against abortion. There are far more children waiting to be adopted than there are being adopted, this advertisement calls for those children's numbers to be increased.
As for killing an innocent human being, you have to first ask yourself why killing innocent human beings is wrong, before I can continue this.
PureInertia 1 year ago
@PureInertia First off, the foster system is not the only venue for adoptions. Most private adoption agencies are not just good at placing children, they are *excellent* at doing so. Second, if the choice is between a dead child and a child who grows up without being adopted, then we should most certainly let them live.
As for why killing innocent human beings being wrong, barring a threat to someone's life, why wouldn't it be?
kelincihutan 1 year ago
@kelincihutan According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, the amount of children in care is roughly 8 times higher than children that are being adopted per year.
Children in foster care have higher rates of suicide, mortality and physical/sexual abuse and nearly half become homeless at 18.
Lastly, you should realise that you made the claim that taking an innocent life is wrong. I want to tell you why abortion is different, but first I need to know why it's wrong to take a life.
PureInertia 1 year ago

PureInertia 1 year ago

PureInertia 1 year ago
@PureInertia No, if you agree we have rights, and you must since you say suffering is "wrong," then you must agree killing innocent human beings is wrong. If not, then suffering doesn't matter. Why do you think suffering is "bad?"
It doesn't matter what philosophy you hold. Chase it down far enough and it will sound arbitrary. I will not play that game with you. Especially since you're practically saying we should murder everyone in foster care because they must all be too miserable to live.
kelincihutan 1 year ago
@kelincihutan To make myself clear I am not saying that killing or suffering is "good". On the other hand, you made a claim, I simply wanted to know if you knew why killing innocent people was "wrong", but you have made it abundantly clear that you have no idea why it is wrong and you only chant the phrase because you believe people will not disagree with it. You have not told my why it's wrong, You are not interested in the merit of reason. If you don't know something so simple, don't debate me
PureInertia 1 year ago
@PureInertia I explained why killing innocent people is wrong; it's a violation of their rights. You want to know why people have rights, except that, you are pro-choice. You already believe they do. There is no "right to abortion" if there are no "rights."
Any thinking person could recognize that we have the necessary common ground to debate the central question: is abortion moral? You are chose to play games. But, you're right that I won't debate you. You're an idiot.
kelincihutan 1 year ago
@kelincihutan Wow, you resorted to name calling... How low of you...
I don't want to know why people have rights. I want to know why you think people have certain rights? Why do you exclude others?
Furthermore you're putting words into my mouth (or... fingers) I never claimed anyone had abortion "rights".
This debate is meaningless, you clearly have no idea why people have rights, nor do you know why killing innocent people is wrong.
You might want to make a point of studying those things.
PureInertia 1 year ago
@PureInertia No, you were trying to get me to invoke God, so that you could mock me for my faith (if I have it). I have seen that strategy before.
You are childish. You ask "Why's that?" over and over, like a 5-year-old, rather than accept we agree enough to debate the central issue. You agree people have value, or suffering wouldn't be bad, but avoid openings to discuss what that means. You have learned to sound impressive, but not to speak with meaning. I won't reply to you again. Good day.
kelincihutan 1 year ago
@kelincihutan Whoah! What is this talk about strategies and god!? Paranoid much? That wasn't my intention at all.
You've made it apparent that you have a reason why killing innocent people is bad, but you're too ashamed of it to tell me.
You made the claim that abortion is wrong because it kills an innocent life. I was trying to debate that with you, but I can't even begin if you don't know why killing innocent people is wrong. Again, if you don't know the answer, don't debate me.

Our society has the mindset that the bigger power can dominate the little nd innocent
jamz3productions 10 months ago
@jamz3productions zygotes are not men or women lol. They don't have minds or opinions, wants or needs. Billions of gametes die out each day, they were also potential humans, why not call masturbation genocide too then? We needn't go as far as masturbation to achieve this holocaust. During sex alone, millions of sperm race towards few ovum (very often no ovum) and in that pursuit millions die. This is a genocide that nature herself defined. Why are you not concerned by this too?
PureInertia 10 months ago
@PureInertia Dear Misguided: a zygote does already have cells that are specified to the gender. Sorry, your argument fails. Time just needs to elapse so they can develop. And we judge worth by minds that can "want or need?" Why then shouldn't we be able to kill a new born?! A fetus at 7 weeks sucks his/her thumb. Feels pain at 8 wks. Farts at 10wks. Educate yourself. Why not consider sperm dying genocide? ITS NATURAL! We are not slaughtering any one. Natural selection, design. GOD.
jacrn323 3 months ago
@jacrn323 Man and woman isn't the same as male or female. Zygotes are not men or women. We don't kill newborns because they are no longer viable, it no longer requires another body to survive. While the fetus requires a human vessel to live, it is the choice of the host whether she wants subject her bodily integrity and life to the continuation of another. You can't force someone to risk those things for someone else.

This makes no difference who is "pro-life" and who is "pro-choice". The facts remain that human beings can make the fundamental choices of reproduction for themselves. If you're against this vital component of life itself, you are outdated, outnumbered and out of your element.
ngink 1 year ago
@ngink Not of those choices kill another human being. That is the nature of rights, my rights end where yours begin. Outdated? Truth doesn't change. Outnumbered? 51% of Americans now classify themselves as pro-life. Out of my element? Truth and protection of the innocent are my element, and I'm certaintly in my element.
Abortion hurts women, childen, and our culture.
Exilitas 1 year ago
@Exilitas Truth is relative. The numbers of people believing in freedom and safe access to birth control of all manners is rising. 51% of those people are sects of the elder generations, who's systemic needs have destroyed countless aspects of not only other cultures, but parts of our earth itself. Like you said, truth doesn't change. You would have it that abortion does not exist? And you think that won't hurt women, children and our culture? Get real.
ngink 1 year ago
@ngink You contradicted yourself in a most serious manner. You said "Truth is relative" and then, later on, "Like you said, truth doesn't change" (agreeing with my statement. The elder generation is not, in fact, the most pro-life generation. Many pro-life youth groups are popping up all over the world, with a fire and passion even more ardent then the elder generations. I am real, and reality (with all the facts) leads to the truth that abortion is immoral, and does great harm to all of society
Exilitas 1 year ago
@Exilitas Hey maybe since you're a catholic you can just "forgive" me for contradicting myself. Then maybe you can "forgive" people for making choices in their life and not listening to the ideologies of the grossly dwindling numbers of Catholics everywhere. Then maybe just "forgive" yourself and go figure out how to live in a world wherein abortion is safe and legal.
ngink 1 year ago
@ngink Forgive you for contradicting yourself...that is a rather absurd notion. I cannot simply accept an argument that defeats itself. I can forgive people for making dreadful errors, but that doesn't mean I think killing a human should be legal. As for abortion ever being safe, that is not possible. Abortion is by nature killing...and unless I am quite wrong, killing is not "safe" and never can be
So, enough pointless banter on our part, lets get to the facts. When do you think life begins?
Exilitas 1 year ago
@Exilitas I think life begins when you move out of your parents house, get a job and "choose" to have a kid or two.
ngink 1 year ago
@ngink So, you think it's okay to kill people before that happens...?

You obviously belive it's wrong to kill a human, so it's logical you must not think the embryo human. At what point does it become human?
Exilitas 1 year ago
@Exilitas When the mommy and the daddy think of having a baby, it becomes human. So when people change their mind about child birth or simply decide to not have a child they are pretty much aborting their future children. It's a ghastly concept! @RenokerQ You know RenokerQ, that is a great question & I totally agree with you. However, it is such a heavy question that I feel for both victims [mother & child]. After having my own child, what a treasure to have & how aweful to imagine so many innocent children were denied such a right to live. An abortion may seem to "help" the mother, but in the long run, it will be even more devestating to her. This is my favorite slogan that describes abortion-- Abortion: one heart stops, another breaks.

Obama is a bad example to use; Hitler could have easily been supplanted in the final picture. Find some other likable person.

What an awesome and creative ad wrapped in truth and love. Choose Life. It has so much potential! I love it!
xukeith33 2 years ago 2
I'm definitely pro-choice, but I really respect and appreciate this ad. It makes a strong point without blaming the women and girls who have to make such a difficult decision.
I hope the one with Tim Tebow this Sunday will be just as tasteful.
AboveAllNations 2 years ago
I agree with you. Any ads that "blame" lose the point. Just point out truth with love and hopefully love speaks to people's hearts.
Do you know of any ads that "blame women or girls"?
I do not. I do not know of any pro life organizations either but I am sue their are some people that are angry and hurt people. sadly on both sides.
xukeith33 2 years ago
No but they should blame them they are responsible for their decisions to kill what is theirs, But I do feel sorry for those young ones coursed into it by parents or boyfriends though...
stephenjackson1 1 year ago
I hope you feel allot better about yourself and your hideous rationalizations for Abortion by admitting this ad is true and beautiful. You "definitely" support slaying live unborn children in the most gruesome of ways, good for you. But just how can you justify this horrifying practice, especially in later trimesters as it is so often done, when ADOPTION is such a clear and obvious morally acceptable alternative. Wake up about your erroneous liberal femi-nazi beliefs and get on the right path!

I'm pro-choice and I think this is a damn good ad. It sickens me how many people use abortion as an everyday form of birth control, rather as the last-resort procedure it's intended to be.
lou4brew 2 years ago
The artist singing is Daniel Schreck -- his album is "Iconologia".
I think the name of the song is "Close your eyes"

Whether you're pro life or pro choice, there's nothing that should upset you about a message saying, "Hey, consider adoption." Nothing.
BrickRoux 2 years ago 5
I agree. Me and my non biological brother were adopted and I am thankful for that. And your right it doesn't matter what side of the fence your on with this subject there is nothing wrong with saying consider adoption.

Hey I was adopted. Anyone on here want to fight and throw THEIR nasty opinions around that say I should have been aborted?
sailingonwaves 2 years ago 26
yes i do, well it depends, if ur parents were underaged then yes because u'd live in a low standard way with unhappiness whichu have no right to, but if they were rich or middle class or adults then no u should not have been aborted ASS HOLE
venthesen 2 years ago
1st. what does money have to do with anything? studies have proven as long as basic needs are met, income level has no effect on happiness.
2. Your stereotyping, some "underaged" people can take care of children just fine, yes it makes it a struggle but its possible, also like the video says adoption is an option much greater than abortion.
last isn't living even if unhappy a lot through childhood better than no life at all?
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
so if some one has a monthly income of lesss than 1000 dollars, they r capable of raising a dam child? Think before u answer, of course its possible, but the shit the child will go through deos it really deserve that shit? Most underaged people dont earn a decent # of dollars to raise a kid, and u know that too, as for the last comment, its ur own preference, no life at all just maybe could be better. The answer will change depending on who u r?
Thesenator64 2 years ago
I don't mean to be rude but did you watch the video? Its about the option of adoption. If a parent is not capable of raising a child they have options. A child should at least have the right to live, then its their choice to break the chain and work to a better life or to give up and live miserably. Lifes longer than childhood and i dont see your theory covering that. I am strongly pro-life and see that i will only anger you so I do apologize but some issues you can't be silent about.
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
naw i ain't angry, i love a good debate, heres the thing abuot adoption, it works, it saves numerous kids and brings out prodigies, and i agree that tis better than abortion, or i did, until i discovered the truth about adoption agencies. I'm Indian so i might have a bias on this but lots of adoption agencies are corrupt, they utilize kids fro labor and crap, and i prefer the kid just die rather than spend time in an adoption house
Thesenator64 2 years ago
u can also look at it economically, the world has too much people, we dont got enough resources too suffice much more. If abortion is wrong isn't masturbaiton wrong?, isn't washing ur hands wrong (u kills 1000's of skin cells) so much more is wrong if abortion is wrong,
Thesenator64 2 years ago
Alright, I have no idea what you know about these adoption agencies so i can't argue that point besides that i firmly believe having a chance is better than never having any chance at all.
I agree, over-population is an issue but at least the people that will die from a lack of resources had at least a taste of life. I guess its all opinionated here. umm also i dont see the realivance of masturbation or washing hands as thats cells and not peopple or organisms of any kind.
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
lil research my friend, cells are living things, so are sperm, and sperm has potential to become a human. Thats where our buffer zone is, u believe that a chance is better than nothing at all. I believe not. Heres a new point to argue, the whole rapist's victim, does a girl who gets pregnant through rape have a right to give birth to the baby? Think of all my rebuttals before answering.
venthesen 2 years ago
Cells are not human, that is what I am interested in protecting. Sperm does have potential but you make 1000 sperm per second so i dont think that is an issue. Rape can only be opinionate. I believe the child should still be born but I can understand others opinions on something as emotionally shaking as that. I have spoken with rape victims both who have conceived and aborted, the one that conceived was glad she did and the one who aborted found the whole process tragic and now regrets it.
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
I know these are only two opinions but they are strong, experienced ones, i know many would disagree but there is my reasoning
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
cells r alive, so r sperm, as for the rape, that has 2 sides, there could also be women who regret conception and r happy with their abortion.
venthesen 2 years ago
Also another reasoning for my reasoning, i don't see murder of an innocent being excused by anything, I understand its hard but troubled emotions is not a reason to murder
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
cells r also innoccent living things, why kill them when washing ur hands, ur own human cells. same thing with sperm, nothing excuses the klling of innocent living beings;)
venthesen 2 years ago
"Cells (and sperm) are not human, that is what I am interested in protecting." i'm pretty sure Cells and sperm cannot be guilty lol
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
"human cells and human sperm" they r apart of our human body, thats not even the point i'm making.. They r still lving beings, regardless of the fact that they have no potential or feelings (or do they...).
venthesen 2 years ago
??? I don't see your point, yes they are alive, I agree, but so are plants and animals which people eat, that does not matter, I'm not trying to protect cells or sperm or plants, only the full humans
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
well we cant argure the full human saving, cuz our beliefs differ on that, and i'm vegetarian btw. U said a comment abuot the murder of an innocent being unexcusable, human cells & human sperms r alive, and they r murdered. that was my point, hope it is now clear
venthesen 2 years ago
so if your saying killing a human cell is the same as human murder?
SkateRHCP 2 years ago
@venthesen

DaSungandSoul1223 1 year ago
@DaSungandSoul1223

Anyways, the ends do not justify the means.

Wow...this is incredible powerful for me, cause I'm adopted. I've always found it hard to be adopted, not knowing who your parents are, but it's amazing seeing all these famous men and women are just like me. It really makes me feel connected and less...strange, I guess. Great commercial!
