  • Well, there are public bathrooms in sleepers on the lower level, so it's not like you HAVE TO do your business right there in the roomette.

  • @Strannik01 on this particular train (NYC to Chicago) there was no lower level. There were public restrooms in the "coach" cars, but by the middle of the 24 hour trip they were pretty much unusable.

We took the coach seats when we went from Chicago to NYC, and the disaster that was the restrooms was a significant reason we upgraded for the return.

  • @brianlojeck

    Alright, fair enough. My bad.

  • @Strannik01 don't sweat it... It seems every Amtrak line has a different setup, different food quality, different service level. Besides, if I didn't want comments, I'd have turned them off. ;-)

  • Ummmmm....... I don't think I love anyone THAT closely! :)

  • "As you can see...the room is a little smaller than a suite at the Wynn."

LOL! Great line. I was actually thinking of taking the Amtrak to Texas this summer. I'm a pretty tall guy though so I don't know how comfortable I'd be in these rooms.

  • Haroof,

I'm 6'6" tall, and a bit over 3 benjamins heavy, and I fit in the beds in the rooms. I can't claim it was spacious, but it was functional. If you can sleep in a chair, the "coach" class seating has plenty of leg room, and you can recline without hitting the person behind you.

Comfort-wise, it's better then an airplane, but not as nice as an easy chair. ;-)

  • oh gawddd.. now that's true family Love!
