  • Wide grip doesn't really "work the outside of the bicep". Like any curl that torques the forearm (pinkies in), wide grip stresses the bicep more at the peak. Stressing the peak via forearm torquing is what bodybuilders do to increase the curvy shape of their bicep peak (the Biceps Brachii).

    Hammer curls and reverse curls (untorqued forearms), on the other hand, work the brachioradialis (the outside bicep muscle). The brachioradialis is often overlooked as it is not a show-off muscle.
