If it IS a real code, about 18 people show up, and about 14 of them just stand around looking for something to do. They want to help, and they're qualified, there's just way too many. So they watch. Every once in a while someone offers to take over compressions or bagging, and the residents pour over the ACLS codes and try to determine if the rhythm is shockable. And then the person usually dies, and everyone leaves.
I've been a RRT for 2 yrs and it is like a ballet. Everyone knows their part. I'd hate to be worked on if it was you and your code team. If in your hospital it usually turns out not to be a real code, you have a shitty system. You are what's wrong with health care. If someone fainted or "something" it happened for a reason.
A ballet?! You're kidding me. None of the codes I've been to have been like a ballet. I get the point that she was trying to make, but honestly... a ballet!? *MAYBE* like a hip hop dance. LOL. Maybe.
Here is what a code is like (esp. peds):
It is announced overhead.
A lot of people run to the same location.
Usually it turns out NOT to be a real code, and someone just fainted or something, and then you are all sweaty for nothing.
This was a nice way of marketing this video. The people that left the comments are not healthcare professionals and ignorant to nursing tech and therfore have nothinh left to do but show how smart they really are.
Any one else think of tsol?
