  • JUST MISSED!!! "Make Me Your Baby" just missed making the Billboard's Hot Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 12 weeks in the Hot Top 100 in 1965. Early in 1965 Barbara Lewis charted with "Baby, I'm Yours" and wouldn't you know it, it just missed making the Top 10, for it also peaked at No.11!!!

  • On of the Greatest!

  • Perfection.

  • i remember this song with alot of love.

  • Thought I was the only one that thought that way.

  • What a beautiful voice. I could histen to her for hours. Thank you for posting such a tremendous song, which I never get tired of listening to.

  • A powerful song sung by a beautiful voice. This is one song which I never get tired of listening to. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for posting this.

  • So beautiful words of love expressed perfectly

  • There's something special about this song.I never get tired of listening to it.

  • If ever a song could be described as simply delicious.....its this one...!!!!

  • @speedcrane Thought I was the only one who thought that way!

  • @mrjoshjones1 you are not alone I discovered BARBARA LEWIS about the same time as TIMI YURO....... she's sensational .... but ETTA JAMES is my leading lady...also RUBY WINTERS candi statton, anne peebles, bettye lavette....I was into totally different music as a kid,so this is a fantastic voyage of discovery on you tube....I'm sure we will bump into one another often on the tube...all the best.

  • @speedcrane i LOVE Etta James <3<3<3 RIP

  • I can hardly hear this song without crying. It is filled with so much emotion - her voice, the background harmony, and music is just beautiful! Thank you, myrainbow2, you brought back so many memories with this song!

  • Please let me know if there is a more beautiful song on youtube than this.....I,m addicted to her voice....second place goes to etta james "NEVER MY LOVE".

  • She made a lot of people in'65 lovelorn and lovesick. "Baby I'm Yours", written by Van McCoy("Do The Hustle") July '65 and this one, "Make Me Your Baby", oct. the same year, so that we could all suffer through the holidays. I think she was trying to kill us. Even me a punkass nine year old.

  • STUNNING.....HOW COULD ANYONE GIVE THIS A THUMBS DOWN....?

  • @speedcrane it we be a boring world if we all had taste

  • That is ONE SEXY song!! Melts my heart.

  • wow blew me away live awesome give me the chils unique voice

  • what an amazing voice, sure miss this music

  • These are, these are my boobies! Kiss them, kiss them, ooby dooby dooby...

I always got the "Barbaras" mixed up (Lewis and Mason - the other one is spelled "difrently"), although they look or sound nothing alike...

  • I love this song. I love most of her music. Beautiful voice & she puts so much heart & soul into it. I danced many a night out to her music.

  • I sure miss those days too!! Awesome!!

  • wowwwwwwww. damn i miss those days.

  • THIS VIDEO & SONG IS FIERCE!! Barbara is a real DIVA!! Those back-up singers, the OUTFITS are too die for!! They don't make 'em like this anymore!! TIMELESS POP!! *****STARS!!

  • Maravilhosa.

  • She's just so SULTRY, her voice is to die for. Barbara and Mary Wells were tops in my book.

  • Amazing, just amazing. She doesn't just sing the words, she FEELS each one and makes the listener feel them, too. Wow. I never tire of hearing this great song sung by the great artist. Thanks for posting!

  • I love this song! Amazing thing is she still sounds the same 45 years later.

  • One of the most beautiful songs ever.

  • Ahhh the music of my youth -Timeless.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Its hard to top songs like this..the raw emotion...a great feeling song

  • Barbara Lewis put a string of hits together over a two year period that teenages of that era will relate to young romances and of course, they all came out during the spring and summer months when love blossoms and you know the rest of the story.

"Make me your Baby" August 65, "Baby I'm Yours" June 65 and "Hello Stanger", May 63. Were did the time go? Ron--Highway Stars Magazine

  • I love this song since forever. Can you please find the version with the complete song and post it? Thank you nyrainbow2, she's a gem!!

  • What a fantastic singer!

  • I love this song.

  • Just beautiful!!!!! Can you find the longer version of this song for me, thanks for the vid.

  • Summert of '65, Barbara had 2 all-time classics & love them both. This, ladies & gents, is singing, the likes of which we'll not see again. GBY Barbara! Wolfsky9

  • So good.

  • this song kills me everytime i hear it, it reminds me of my love that is no longer with me, and it kills me inside!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Barbara Lewis and Damita Jo acutally live and own their houses on Balboa island, California which has the most expensive real estate in the world!!!!

  • @SoldierUSArmy I thought Barbara Lewis lived in the Orlando, FL area.

  • Amazing singer, loved this song since day one, still play it at home and sounds so good cranked way up so you can hear the great orchestra and backup vocals. Anybody know if this was a Phill Spector "Wall of Sound" song? She sings from the heart with that slight "cry" in her voice. What a great talent. Thanks for posting!

  • @SRB427 Although this is a great "Wall-Of-Soundalike", Phil Spector apparently had no involvement with this record. Speaking of which, if you haven't already, you should check out two great Spectoresque productions- "You're So Fine" (Dorothy Berry) and "My One & Only Jimmy Boy (Girlfriends), both produced by future mello-rock guru David Gates of Bread fame. Both cuts are terrific, released in late 1963. Best wishes!

  • wow...what a treat ....totally forgot about her....she's incredible...thanks

  • La premiere fois que j'ai ecoute ce titre j'avais a peine 10ans.

  • Wow, what a beautiful Oldie. First time I hear it. Thank you for posting it.

  • Magnificent lady that sings from her heart. Beautiful voice.

  • OMG...She sings with soo much feeling...

  • Im glad to hear some one appreciates a singer for their talent and not what their exsposing

  • None better.

  • THIZ IZ ONE OF MY FAVE OLDIE JAMZ...I SANG IT AT A TALENT SHOW ONCE...NOT AS GOOD AS BARRARA L BUT I ..tried....

  • @lamuneca248 a VERY talented woman...she wrote all of this and worked with some of the great harmony groups of the time...The Dells, etc...music with meaning...do you agree?

  • You'll notice that she dresses and performs with style and elegance. Not like so many of today's "Sluts are us" performers.

  • She is elegant, sophisticated, a voice that could make the angels weep, and has style to spare. Such a great time to have experienced music. Today's "stars" cannot begin to duplicate what was the norm of that time. This is one of my favorites by Barbara. Thank you for posting this live version- it is a gem!

  • What an awesome voice. Tears my heart out.

  • @4801eSlauson This is just superb. A beautiful two minutes of music!

John Mayer won't come close to this.

  • Wow! Lovely memories.

  • Goose bumps!

  • I never thought I would use the "OMG" but OMG!!!! I love it. Thanks for sharing.

  • First time I've heard this. I thought I knew my music. Thanks for posting.

  • just about her best, awesome song, singer luvit

  • Thank you lady - God Bless

from a stranger that appreciates your talent, style and class

    much love

  • Gorgeous song, amazing soulful woman.

  • Wow!!!! Oh Barbara you enchanted the

audience at The Keswick Theatre this

    Saturday. BRAVO!!!!

  • Probably one of, if not THE, most passionate song to come out of 1960s R&B sound.

  • i get chills when hear her sing!!!!

  • I just saw her this past Valentine's night in LA at a concert. This is her favorite song to sing on stage. Her voice is still incredible.

  • I heard this song on the radio when I came home from work and a sort of slow girl had called in the request for herself because she was alone and was hoping that her soulmate was out there somewhere. When the song was played after she hung up, it sounded 100 times more emotional than usual. I really got emotional. Such a good song.

  • i love you auntie!

  • @tanakiia Are you Barbara Lewis' niece?

  • 100 Gold Stars - Thank You

  • Always love this song too. She sings with such feeling.

  • This is my favorite song by Barbara Lewis.

I heard this on KTTR 1490 Rolla Mo. in the early 1960's.

These songs will live on forever. The late

Skeeter Davis was getting allot of her Country-Rock hits played everywhere.

I think of an old country school, a drive inn, or many of the old Cafe's and gas stations along the hiway during that special time we call the 1960's.

It all seems like a distant train now but never forgotten.

  • Heard this song on the radio and drove right to the record store, and purchased the 45 copy! Loved this song then, now, and always!

    Thanks for the great posting!

  • Beautiful, love it, I remeber the song as a kid.

  • Such a beautiful song and voice. Just reaches in and grabs your heartstrings.

  • nice to see the young singer. thanks.

  • Superb. Thank you for posting.
