I really enjoy your videos. I'm teaching myself to knit and I cannot learn from written instructions. Your pacing/explanations are excellent. And it's a nice bonus that your voice and hands are beautiful. You've helped me learn several things just tonight. Thank you :)
I am knitting from an old pattern book. Part of the pattern says yarn over, slip one, knit one , psso. After the yarn over do I slip as a knit stitch or as a purl stitch.
I just wanted to say thanks for such a lovely and informative video! Not only did you explain how to do a yarn over, but also showed how it affects your pattern. I learned so much in 2 minutes! :)
Thank you so much for the excellent instructions. It is clear now in a way that books don't convey and I don't have to bother my more advanced friends! Thanks!!
I am knitting a pattern that says to slip 1 after the YON.does that mean you still knit 1 to create the extra stitch or do you just bring the yarn forward and then slip 1? youur video is great. very clear. thanks
@michaelB144 If you want a hole but no increase, knit together the two stitches after the yarn over, and this will keep your total number of stitches the same.
Thank you so much. I found this while trying to figure out why my lace knitting never ever comes out as planned. I was convinced that I was making YOs incorrectly. That was kind of true, but the real problem was that I have been making purl stitches incorrectly for years! This video finally pointed out the mistake and I have my first successfully rendered lace scarf in the works. Thanks you so much for setting a self taught knitter onto the road of correct purling and YOs
Your video is very helpful! Is there any chance you can make a video showing how to fix a yarn over mistake? I don't know how to put it back on the needle if I've miscounted?
Thank you for your video. Would you please consider demonstrating all the YO types? For example Purl to purl, purl to knit, knit to purl, since you have already given us an excellent start with knit to knit? Love from the USA!
YO is a full wrap of the yarn around the needle and a 'yarn forward' just means bring the yarn to the front of the work, just like you would do when changing between a knit stitch and a purl stitch.
I think that you are so clear in your instructions and go at a pace that makes it doable. Also, great tone of voice. You are awesome, and most of all THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for this video. Its so much easier to understand when you see someone do a technique than when you read about it in a book.
You explained it so well, thank you
Best wishes
Billie

@lilchook1 Don't knit one extra stitch - just slip the next stitch and knit the stitch after that.

Thank you so much for showing this. I am learning to knit and found the instructions on the sheet for YO very hard to follow.
Your video made it so simple, easy to understand and very easy to see exactly how to do it :) Much appreciated, I can go and knit my scarf now :D

Many thanks for your reply. I now understand that yo is the same as yrn (yarn round needle)
