It's nice to see the appreciation for this from our troops, and entertaining to see the insults by cowardly internet trolls who will never lift a finger to defend our country and don't deserve our troops' protection.
This is just confounding. So they could afford to put their actors in elaborate character makeup, but not a couple viewscreen effects? Why does it look/sound like it was shot on a 1980s VHS camcorder by a toddler? How could a FILM company like Kodak sponsor this? I sure hope none of these people are actually actors. And to top it off, the whole thing is a tribute to...the United States Armed Forces? Isn't this somewhat antithetical to Gene Roddenberry's entire vision? So many questions...
@YggdrasilMedia This was made voluntarily with no budget by momentofthanks & the Star Trek Experience crew before they shut down in 2008. Being a theme park attraction, not a filming company they all pulled out the best they could do on short notice (yes, bending Roddenberry's vision, who was a WWII pilot himself) to thank our troops for defending this country. And they are all talented Las Vegas performers who make a much better living at entertaining people than you do. Still confounded?
@VWVVWVVWV Yes. If they had no budget, then what exactly was Kodak's involvement?
(Also, being a filmmaker and avid Star Trek fan, I might just be a little bitter that they had access to this stuff -- and that I will never get to visit Star Trek: The Experience.)
@masterfistlord The writer/director of this video did more to thank our troops than your cowardly, complacent, ingrate, internet trolling self. He also plowed your mother.
Wow, that was AWESOME. I always knew being a Star Trek Fan was special. After a year in Iraq and Afghanistan, watching this only makes me feel EVEN PROUDER to be a Star Trek Fan.
@TheReasonWhyGuy The best that could be done voluntarily & with no budget was done with the equipment at hand to thank our troops for defending this country, allowing criticizing internet trolls like yourself to keep your freedom.
A troll isn't someone who voices their critical opinion which you don't like.
A troll is someone who says something JUST to annoy you.
I did no such thing, I voiced an opinion, and if you're so hate filled that you must throw around names like that, then I guess I have nothing more to say to you.
@TheReasonWhyGuy Point well taken. Insults aside, I am angered by the number of people who so easily criticize something that was done with limited means out of support for our military. It's not like it was meant to win any awards. To me, bagging on this video is simply uncalled for, bad camera work or not.
You bet. The American military saved Europe from Germany.... twice in one century. It also saved Berlin from starvation in the '50s. It's building schools in Iraq while being shot at. If it was about the price of oil, I sure as hell can't tell it by the price I'm paying at the pump.
I'm a veteran. As a kid, STNG inspired me to join in '89. I don't do it for the praise or the money. I do it because it's something I believe in.
Yes the U.S. army save Europe from the Nazis only after half of your great navy was sunk to the bottom of the ocean by Japan. Yes the U.S. army saved Berlin from starvation in the '50s only after it destroyed it. Yes the U.S. army is building schools in Iraq while being shot at, only after it destroyed EVRY School in Iraq. Before you speak for the great U.S. army remember that Europe fought with the Germans alone half of the war while USA was making money from the war
It wasn't half of the war it was only for two years. Americans had an isolationist attitude at the time and getting them into the war was a hard sell. We do rebuild our enemies after we destroy them. Would you prefer that we had kept West Berlin the same way the Soviets were keeping the east side of the city? I can't imagine why there was a need to put up a god damn wall to keep the East Berliners from going to the west. Before you go slamming the U.S. get your facts straight TsYovinski!
Your sacrifice to protect our freedom is greatly appreciated. I'll be uploading the special edition including bloopers very soon! - the guy in the ops position

I dont consider voyager or other newer versions of star trek to be apart of star trek.
Original Series and Generations are the ONLY Star Trek adventures to me.

@VWVVWVVWV Yeah I know, the comment was left quite some time ago, and wasn't meant as an attack, but rather as pointing out it's weak points.
Again, the acting was good, which is saying something when compared with most star trek fan made videos :)

@VWVVWVVWV "Thanks - I'm sure the actors appreciate the compliment."
I know you can't have "tone of voice" in text, however this just sounds sarcastic to me.
Am I wrong in thinking that?
