when I was a baby, my mother found a dog in the same conditions; she was horribly abused, beaten, starved, chained outside. No one did anything for that dog. My mom told the owner to give the dog to her, she said no, so she told her that she had only $20 in her pocket, the owner said ok, and my mom bought her. Samantha was the most kind and beautiful doberman ever! she lasted a year longer than she was supposed to, she was so loyal to us! <3

Do not be so quick to judge, 'solarcycles'. In this small space I cannot tell the entire story: I was NOT silent. I made MANY attempts to help. I called the authorities (3 times) and wrote to the landlord/owner of the house (2 times). I contacted Ms. Grimes organization and got materials/asked them to send a letter to the dog owners. FINALLY authorities came. My yard/fence was vandalized in retaliation. The dogs were sold by the owner soon afterwards. I hope the dogs are in a better place now.

The "laws" need to change, animals are NOT property and are NOT ours to harm. Any "human" who does this should be treated the same way and eye for an eye is my motto.
