@MetaKnightsKirby 40-50mpg? At Singapore they were burning about a gallon a lap. They were making 3.2mpg there. Now, you're right about the engines lasting two races. That's incredible considering they are running 18,000 rpm, which is something these LMP1 cars are not doing.
@Ornqiraj LeMans cars would cover distance set by F1 cars slower.. Otherwords. F1 cars are way faster than LeMans.. I'm not against LeMans cars, but what you say is insane..
Not insane. The overall point is, an F1 car cant drive 24Hours non stop without breaking, thier engines are not build for a endurance challenge like that
@kongbenne yeah because F1 gearboxes are setup for shorter race, a Le Mans circuit will kill a classic F1 engine but remember what Jenson Button did in Mojave desert few years ago: his Bar-Honda reached 415Kph in straight line, pretty good for a F1 and in dust conditions^^
@kallo182 Have you ever thought about that G-Force isn´t better when it´s higher? The more g-force you have the more your tires get ripped off...so thats bad. And a LMP-1 kicks a F1 cars ass. Its on topspeed, nearly equally in acceleration and lasts way longer. And the corner speeds are nearly the same too. Dumbass
@TheDukeof91 Bottom line is: F1 cars have faster corner speeds, top speeds, can make a lap way faster, but while an F1 car has to do 60 laps around a circuit, an LMP1 car could do 1000 with way less fuel spent.

@xKriZ765x LMP1. More Aerodynamically stable, more powerful, and better endurance. I'd rather drive one of these than an F1 car. Corner speeds are a tad slower though.
I must've pressed the mute button.........cant hear anything!

wow a really amazing car but that TDI engine sounds like shit :(
fukt0p 2 months ago
@fukt0p not like shit at all, more like it doesn't need to stretch itself to the limit at any point of the track.

Audi Rules...
lugope64 2 months ago
Let me explain this so even two years old can understand the point.
Le Mans Prototypes (LMP1) is endurance race cars, build to race in 6 - 24 Hours.
The ACO rules has forced the teams to downsize everything from engines to fuel tanks the last years.
Allowed brand new technoligy allowed, wich F1 dosnt, their still running with thier outdated petrol cars.
LMP1 cars is build to drive 6 - 24 hours race with huge speed and dont brake.
An F1 car would drive 2-3 hours and brake down..........

@Ornqiraj I like F1 racing but I love Le Mans racing. Easily the best race series in the world.
defigi 3 months ago
@Ornqiraj Right, thats why each F1 engine does AT LEAST 2 races, full qualiyfinga and practice sessions, and make 40-50mpg without the aero.

Damn shame they have the chicanes on the Mulsanne, would love to see what those diesel cars could do on a decent patch of straight

@DominarTyranT1 but lmp1 can hit around 250mph. and f1 cars only hit 220mph on the straight at spa.
xKriZ765x 8 months ago
@xKriZ765x so? you are comparing top speed of different cars on different tracks!
lmp cars are suited for Le mans track, it's oblivious. but guess, who's gonna be faster in monaco or in turkey? ))

@xKriZ765x if they completely remove all the downforce a formula 1 car can go well beyond 270 mph, only problem is it will take off!
superchiller123chill 5 months ago
@xKriZ765x
LMP1 Car = 900Kg / 600Hp
F1 Car = 605Kg / 765 Hp
Even DTM Cars got more Corner Speed and Corner G-Force than LMP1 Cars.

@TheDukeof91
Sure its the same LoooL
An LMP1 Car needs nearly an half Day to reach 320 Kmh.
An F1 Car got 300Kmh after nearly 5-600 meter.
If someone think that an GT Prototyp is faster than F1 than its more than Funny xDDD

@LOLWUT612
The Audi R15 LMP1 Car got on the end of the Concorde Strait, in this Video at 1:06 exact 322Kmh (201mph)
An F1 Car got 316Kmh on the Start and Finish Strait of Melbourne. The LMP1 Car would in Melbouren dont even came in the 6th Gear.
Guys you all play toooo much Gran Turismo : )

@kallo182 A R15 only has 5 Gears
LMP1 cars with 350 KM/H on the straight
