No you don't. Check SEM or 3M products. Plastic bonds made easy. Body shops are not gonna go thru this. Clean before sanding, clean after sanding, then clean again. The new bonding agents are so good I would hate to pause to talk to u. They are fast. Clean after every step, use quaility products. No problem.
but what if the plastic your repairing isnt shinny?

i heard that after doing this trick, quickly quenching it with cool water will keep the glossy effect, havnt tried it but supposedly it works

Btw, yes, I reckon a heat gun is a lot better conreolled than a blow torch. You just have to control how much for how long.

DO NOT USE A HEAT GUN ...i did it and it melted a hole in my fender for fuck sakes......i need a hole new fender!!!!
