Faith has EVERYTHING to do with leading our country. For those that may have forgot, our country was founded on the belief in Almighty God! These clowns have NO IDEA what they are talking about! It's comical how
"no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States." - Article Six of the United States Constitution. What is Russert's problem?
he didn't ask them which religion they were so we could know which not to vote for because they were mormon, or Baptist, or cathlic etc. Just because they are talking "religious" doesn't mean it has become a constitutional requirement for the office. It may be a requirement of the people voting.
How are Bible verses in any way related to a person's qualifications for President? This may sound crazy but religion shouldn't run this country (this applies to people seeking any other public office, not just the Presidency)
It is hilarious to watch cynical politicians (redundancy) dance around the Judeo-Christian death cult fairytale issue. Hilarious. Can you spell "P-A-N-D-E-R-I-N-G" boys and girls?
What's really sad is that some people believe the religious affiliation or knowledge of a person has anything to do with how he or she would run the country.
I think a true understanding and humility before any higher power would certainly help any leader. And knowledge is always a good thing to have in a leader as well. The funny part is they all claim to be of the Christian religion, yet can't quote 1 single verse. Edwards came SOOOO close though!
Wether the candidate is Catholic, Methodist, Evangelical Protestant. A theistic-evolutionist or creationist. it is discrimination to hold it agains them and its wrong. Bush is a creationist and people call him dumb despite the fact he holds degrees from TWO Ivy Leageu Schools.
if it is true faith, and not just something used to pander, it affects who they are, so it matters. and you can tell the ones who are politically motivated
none of these candidates knew any verse at all. Sad...:( How can they run our country with a strong dependence upon God the creator of everything. Sad, sad...
WTF does the bible have to do with our president. We dont want a religion in our government so why ask them about the bible. Why not ask whats your favorate quote of wisdom.
??? wow is this politics??? What is your favourite bible verse...none of them, it's a book, and a funny one at that

Obama....Sermon on the Mount? It's not a bible verse....its 3 chapters written by Matthew, not John.

I think Obama was referring to John EDWARDS previous comment during the debate about what we have lost in this country.

Haha! Good of you to point that out!
