NOTE! WD Elements SE external units have the SATA-to-USB bridge circuitry integrated into the hard drive inside the case! The MicroUSB port is actually directly on the back of the drive. I just found this out cracking open a 640GB drive. Inside was NOT a Scorpio but instead a "not for resale" white-label drive with a part number of WD6400KMVV.
@akaase Is there ANY way to convert this to SATA? I have this drive as of January and I would much rather not pay for another drive....that said I can always buy the same one and just be happy with a USB RAID array lol
Do you know if this drive a be use as an internal drive? if so what type of serial ATA cable can be used?
